Been driving this car for almost 2-3 weeks now and can definitely say the range is really good, love the interior. Haven't heard any complain from people sitting in the rear which was a worry. Would definitely recommend this to someone who is looking for a compact-suv electric car.
I ordered an EQB 250+ AMG line Premium. Everybody is paying attention to the “low” charging speed, but first of all most people only have to charge once a week and almost never see a fast charger. Secondly, most cars that have a higher loading speed on paper and a higher range on paper, also take around 30 minutes from 10 to 80% and have the same range in real life. I chose Mercedes because of the overall quality. Everything is well thought out, the entertainment system is up there with the best if not the best, planning your route calculating with terrain, traffic and even weather to determine the range. And everything is adjustable to your liking. Add to that the room of an EQB and options like the magnificent 710 Watt Burmester Dolby Atmos system and the fact that it is build in Europe, there’s really no alternative. Certainly after they upgraded the car by offering more as standard for a slightly better price.
I feel flattered by the greetings. Thank you and greetings from Germany.😅 It's a pity that Mercedes still doesn't use a battery-only platform. Visually, the vehicle is very sexy, but too small for me. Waiting for the EQC.
After taking the Volvo EX30 and the XC40 Recharge out for tests my wife and I took this car out, what a difference WOW ! The whole car felt like 2 steps up from the volvo's, the build quality feels superb and what you expect from mercedes, the car was far more comfy to drive and the electronics were superb, yes it's maybe not as fast as the volvo's but it's got plenty for daily use for us. Basically there are 3 cars we are potentially going to buy one of, the EX30, XC40 or 250+, it's probably not fair to compare the EX30 against the other 2 but my wife likes the look of the EX30, the main problem for us with the EX30 that it is basically a car for 2 people as the back seats are useless for 2 adults, but it's €10.000 less than the 250+ and that's something we can't ignore, The XC40 on the other hand came in on our dealer quotation at €6000 more than the 250+ and that's just crazy as it was no way as good as the EX30 or 250+. Currently in Holland Volvo are offering a deal with the EX30 in stock, for the single motor extended range, €2950 subsidy cash back from the government and a free wall charger (ex installation) 2yrs guarantee on the car and 8yrs on the battery pack, €890 extra for 4 yrs guarantee, all in all a very attractive deal. The mercedes dealer has offered us a 250+ business line with parking package +360 camera, panorama roof, privacy glass, 2yrs extra guarantee (4yrs) for almost €7000 under the normal price, he has offered a high trade in price for our own car and 8% discount on the new 250+ though we would need to pay the full price for our charging station at home, should say we have 12 solar panels on our house and will be mostly charging from home. The 250+ is by far the nicer car but you can't get away from the huge price difference, we are struggling with this for a week now, curious to here your views on this? Cheers Mike 👊
Though choice. All good cars. Among those three I would boil it down to the EX30 or the MB. But since you live in Holland I wouldn't go ahead until you try the Zeekr X. It's basically the Volvo EX30 but 20cm longer (better back seat) and much nicer interior. My review of the X will be released next week.
Hey, another one from NL is here! I'm currently choosing the next car for my family of 2 and on the top of choice are both EX30 Core Extended Range and EQA 250+ Limited Edition. For me, one of the most important factors is the cabin noise due to some health specific. Currently, MB is way pricier than EX30, at least regarding the catalog prices. Will try both the next week and see whether the price difference worth it. Alex
@alexhoxley the EX30 is definitely a nice car, but it's not good for anything other than 2 young children in the rear seats and the build quality was not what you expect from Volvo, for the rest I couldn't fault it, the one screen controls is entirely a personal thing so not fair to criticise, at the end of the day the rear seats space and plastic feel was just terrible to me. The core version is just a non starter for most people, the plus model with long range motor is what most people will choose and then it's just too much compared to the opposition, the top model is just ridiculous, far too much power for such a small car and far too expensive. If you can live with it's size and cheap feel then I'm sure it's absolutely not a bad car, it just doesn't do it for me.
Thanks for an answer! We are currently (and for at least 2-3 years) the family of two, and about the feel: one of the cars we also see as our next one is Fiat 500e, which I suppose has even cheaper materials and way less space :) Just the fact that Volvo can be more silent in terms of cabin noise can make me pay some amount more
How do you find the rear seats? Thinking of this as our next EV but keep hearing reviews complaining of the floor height in the rear for long journeys. Thanks
Back seat is small, but it's a small car so that's expected. But yes, the rear bench is really low and can be troublesome for grown ups and tall kids on long trips.
@@johnw65uk In theory. In reality there are few 300 kW chargers, not many support 800V and also the battery is smaller, it's not the same 80%. I charged a Ioniq 5 and I've seen only about 190 kW peak. Surely it's faster but for some it doesn't really matter 15-20 more minutes maybe a couple of times a year. And the badge is different, for some that matters. The second hand price is about the same. I drove a Ioniq 5 Luxury and it's a decent car but I would choose the Mercedes. The Hyundai after one year started rattling a bit and because of the 3m wheelbase it's harder to park.
Hello 👋🏽 thanks for the in depth review on the features of this car, as always 🙂 one thing that bugs me is, why EU wants car manufacturers to put a speed limit warning if everyone turns it off as soon as they get in the car. I mean, you’re not the only to pester this stupid feature, and yet, it seems that governance thinks it’s a very good idea UX wise, it makes no sense and provokes the opposite of what it is supposed to do 🤷🏻♀️ To be back on the car itself, the charging curve is good, but still, the speed, at this price point, is kind of too low. Cheaper cars are doing better, by a large margin
Hello! Nice to get your thoughts as always! 👍 He's the ISA is so stupid and a lot more of a distraction rather than a safety enhancing feature. Seems like the manufacturers understood this early in and are now racing to find the best deactivation way. And about the charging curve. For that price and size of s battery it should charge quicker for sure.
@@ItsOnlyElectricusually yeah my car flashes and bongs if I occasionally go over , I just stay under. The speed limit is the limit not a normal driving speed.
@@johnw65uk it seems unlikely that you can endure the annoyance of the over speed warning beep in the long run. My guess is you have a car prior to a 2024MY Being caught in a constant loop of “beep | no beep | beep | no beep” because you’re over 1 or 2 km/h , focusing on the traffic is utterly annoying and ridiculous But maybe you’re Mr Perfect and never ever, even for one km/h, go over the speed limit 🫡 The fact that everyone is turning off the feature as soon as they start driving, speaks volumes

Great insight sharing 👍👍
You can mute speed warning by holding volume button on steering wheel for 2 seconds
Thanks 🙏

I guess EQC will be the sweet spot. 👍
Trying to practice my German. 😂
EQB is larger
A great car ….i have one and love it 😻
Can you put a spreadsheet together with measurements? Thanks
In the members section everything is collected in a spreadsheet for all my tests.

Nice Video. It would be lovely if it would be possible to move the back row seats like in the GLA.
Thanks! Yes that would be a neat feature

Worked good for my two 12 year olds.
@@ItsOnlyElectric that’s good to know but wait til they get to 14 and 15 they grow daily. My 15 is already my height.
@johnw65uk yes, they grow like nothing else right now. 😂
I think the weakest point of this car is charging speed. 100kW is not enough. Ioniq5 supports 350kW.
Yes, very good point ☝️
Yes, but the charging average power for Ioniq 5 is 149 kW. And of course you need to find a 300 kW or more charger.
Also true, and needs 800v. So when charging on a 400v the average speed is even lower than 149kW.
Takes 18mins to 80% on the ioniq 5 and 35mins for the Mercedes . Hardly a weak point.

I find driving legally within the speed limit fixes this issue.
So you always drive with speed assist active? Or are you that accurate that you never over speed with 2km/h for more than 5 seconds?
