This game is such an underrated gem. Story, music and gameplay all top notch in my opinion, and I really enjoy the story showing us the world from two opposing perspectives.
Nice! I'm really fond of Arc TotS. I've been playing it on the PS and seeing this makes me want to go back and finish it. You're asking about more unusual or overlooked RPGs? Hmm .. what about Stella Deus? Or Magna Carta? Jade Cocoon?
It's such a great game that I think is often overlooked. I really liked the variety in Darc's party, and Camellia was probably my favorite of the cast of his party (although I liked Bebedora too). Nice. I owned Stella Deus and Magna Carta: Tears of Blood when I lived in Australia. I definitely should revisit them, at some point. Jade Cocoon is a great game too. Thanks for the recommendations, and for checking out my channel!
I have been looking for this weird game, that I barely remembered. "It's definitely not that game, the name sounds wrong" I said. But the only things I could remember was a half demon guy, and turn based free flow movement. Thanks, it's gonna feel like my brother is here again now that I can play this game!
really good looking game, for its day, and I can see how a lot of modern games still use similar game works from this era. It was ahead of its time. Thanks for making and sharing the video
I loved the concept of the duality between the two protagonists. I don't think I've seen that again since (although I think Breath of Fire IV did something similar, but not on the same scale). Thanks for watching.
After watching this, I am want too experience why you enjoyed it. Also, going through my back log of games since this is part of it. As for unknown games, I want to say the Mark of Kri and the Rise of the kasai are underrated.
Glad to hear that my video inspired you to want to play this game. I really enjoyed every minute of it, and hope to see other people enjoy it too. I'd never heard of Mark of Kri or Rise of the Kasai. I'll have to keep an eye out. Thanks for mentioning them.
I first played this game 10 years ago when I was like 7 and never got past the first part of Darcs story. I recently bought it again and had the chance to finish it and experience an amazing story. Well I almost finished it. I had no clue how to beat that stupid eyeball final boss in the game, I even had Choco unlocked... but when I get the chance to play it again I will make sure I kill him.
Oh yeah, that last boss is a doozy! The first time I attempted it I had Maru at around level 50, and the next highest was probably Kharg and Darc at around 40. But I died. I ended up having to grind. Ultimately using Tatjana was a good bet because she had a light based attack. Also, equipping characters with accessories that mitigate the damage done by the boss' darkness based attacks help too. Also, don't put anyone too close, or in the middle, otherwise they'll get hit by the center beam, or the circular attack that it does. Oh, and you need to kill the random eyeball monsters it spawns to even be able to do decent damage to it. Good luck!
Oh wow now im interested in this one, I only play the first 3 long time ago.. is this available on ps4? Edit: nevermind i watched the video through the end.. so embarassed
Depending on region, it is. I played it on the PS4, but I got it from the AUS store. As each country's PS Stores have different offerings, I am not sure if yours will have it, but it's definitely worth playing if you can get your hands on it. Edit: No worries. Haha.

Definitely. It's such a unique way to tell the story, and I feel that this game does it extremely well.

Duh. On the PS4!

What's interesting is this game is $15 on the playstation store, but a physical copy can be bought for about $11 on Ebay with free shipping.
Really enjoyed this review. Love this game so much, replayed it many times when I was younger.
I love playing this game since kid :)

Glad I found your comment on imfood4dogs, now I'm a fan of you too haha.
Glad to hear it! There's plenty more coming!
I think Arc The Lad deserves an update to modern graphics and world free roam capabilities.

Does this game really run at 60fps or is just the emulator ?
If by emulation you mean how the PS4 runs it, then it runs at the speed you see it. The game can be purchased from the PS4 PS Store.
I've played both PS2 and 4 versions. PS4 is a reliable option. I don't think you'll experience anything negative (considering the age of the game)
