Conte figures were state of the art. If all you had were Marx, Airfix, Matchbox, and a smattering of Lido & MPC guys, these sets were a revelation. Honorable Mention to TSSD.
Great show!
Agreed! TSSD apricated what Conte was doing and decided to join his new revolution of figure stature.
I love all the craftmanship on vehicles and repurposed Fisher Price you do, I want to get a lot of this stuff too now.
I am honored!! Fisher Price is the best way to go!!!
i bought some fisher price houses an painted them - will show soon - thank you very much for this great idea General Sir!!!
You are more than welcome! I love sharing the hobby and good ideas!

Excellent conversions on the soldiers and the vehicles.Inspirational presentation as always.
Thanks James!
very good!
Thank you!
I dig the head turn conversion. Got too many of those looking back guys myself.
I hate that pose too!!
Coolest shit ever man . I am trying to get every episode you have ever done . Huge fan . Love it all . Takes me back to my childhood
Thanks Richard, if your a crazy fan feel free to be my friend on FB!
They are much more detailed than the British Airfix that I collect myself
Yes, they marked a turning point in our hobby.
Very impressive, especially the SS. I’ve been looking for them for a long time.
They pop up on Ebay every now and then.
@@ThePlasticGeneral funny you should say that I’ve just bought 10 boxes of AIR FX 1970s soldiers as a job lot for a very good price , the seller said he will let me know if any SS soldiers come up for grabs I’m in the Uk . The American troops that you were showing us were so much more detailed than the United Kingdom EX models. Please tell me the name of that company perhaps I can hunt them down around the planet. 🌎☺️ thx DSM . PS Are you general pattern? lol usa 🇺🇸
@@monkeysa43 CONTE I think?
They look better than Airfix who were top dog in the UK 🇬🇧 from 65 to 82.
Well, they have the advantage of being born in 2OO1.
Awesome!
Thanks!
Good job, nice filming and audio edit
A pain in the ass that's worth it! Thank you Sir!
You're a nut but I love ya man! Memory lane here we go!
Nuts are better Salted!
Really nice job. Good job on the figure displays - you might want to read some of the reviews from the Plastic Soldier Review website - including reference to the ported weapons and equipment would bring your nice pieces to another level. Love your conversion on the Hummel > Nashorn! Just great workmanship on your part!
Agreed, Plastic Soldier Review is one of my favorite sites!
I just have to say you have an awesome collection and the awesome setup an amazing I collect 1/72 scale but I enjoy watching your videos I'm speechless right now I like you set up with the paratroopers in the SS amazing nice to meet you my friend
It's a pleasure for me to make this show for all you guys out there in Toy Soldier Land!
I love your shirt 🤣
Which shirt?
I‘m totally fascinated by conte collectibles scale 1/32. Unfortunately I wasn‘t active at that time, but I was still able to catch SS Troops, Wehrmacht and British paratroopers about 3 years ago on ebay. I would really like to have the WW2 playsets (buildings, church etc.) - These sets are absolutely amazing, but unfortunately they are no longer made.
Sadly you missed them, but they still pop up!
Where are your large citybuildings coming from ? For the moment i“m working on a french street building from Mini Art in 1:35 scale… I like the soft Contiplastic my dear General, but i only have one dead german imade in canada in my 1:32 Collection 👋🤕👍
So cool that you got to see the Conte factory!!! Why did Conte stop production?!
I think he found it cheaper to do it in China than Canada.
@@ThePlasticGeneral yeah but why are the WWII plastic figures out of production?
@@headlessguy8733 All the molds are just sitting in a warehouse waiting for someone to rescue them! For real!!
@@ThePlasticGeneral Damn! Do you know why they stopped production of plastic WWII?!
@@headlessguy8733 Ask Richard from Conte? I can only speculate?
I bought both conte sets plus the Red devils which are all rare. I have many of his lines French Legions, 24h foot Zulu and the Viking, Saxons and Normans from the Warlord.
I had everything at one time, but one day I had to be really hard on myself and Focus! One Period, One Scale!
Are you adding your own sound effects?😀
Yes.
Excellent comme d'habitude j'aime bien tout ce que vous faites j'espère un jour que vous puissiez faire une bataille de haute intensité en extérieur avec avion tank troupes au sol un truc de fou ha oui sa serait vraiment super génial
I wish there was a way to translate these comments.

10:20 you can see them painted on my channel ;-) .
They were the first figures that I painted again about 3 years ago. I had bad brushes and no magnifying lamp. Today I would most likely paint them better but I think they are ok
When it comes to Conte, Plastic Platoon or Publius I don't feel the urgent need to paint them. Perhaps one day?
@@ThePlasticGeneral it all started with airfix soldiers. my son asked me where all my old toys are (my mom told him about my tanks etc) ... i had sold or given them away as a teenager - he was shocked. So we started over. For about 5 years now we have been collecting forces of valor, conte, 21st century etc etc ... now we have our little battlefield :-)
@@toysoldier68 That's how this wonderful sickness starts!! But it's better than drugs and alcohol.
Yes, Bandai works well.
Christian wonderful video as always! But i think i am speaking for all of us if i say that we really would like if you made a vid showing us around your place! But no pressure... ;) keep up the good work!
You mean a tour of my Willey Wonka style apartment that eventually leads to the War Room? That is in the plans!
@@ThePlasticGeneral exactly! Cant wait!
I like the comedy aspects of this episode
Could the 101 Airborne Dick D. Winters leadership monument in Saint-Marie-du-Mont (normandie) also be inspired by a plastic soldier? I thought it looked like it.
Maybe?
You know what i have never seen in our scale of 54 mm 1/32 plasticWW Two figures are WACs or their equivalents in the Navy or Air Force or Marines.Any HQ display will need them for accuracy portrayals.
What is a WAC?

I spray painted old Fisher Price buildings!
Conte is amazing. Too bad they are no longer in sale.
He's just brought out a new set of Romans. Check his website!
@@Aratak711 Why did he stop producing the WWII sets?
Do you have any of their WWII ?
@@ThePlasticGeneral no :(
I'm sure you've seen the new Plastic Platoon Waffen SS, if you haven't already scored some.
Yes, set #1 but Set #2 is going to be the real challenge!
Another Spendid show
Thanks!
Just subscribed and went back and watched all your episodes. Awesome entertainment, would love to do something together in the future to help build my channel thanks

You know it seems to me you could expand your range of historical coverage to include the Korean War of 1950-1953 cause the uniforms of that war were much the same as in WW Two.Also you could cover the troops of the North Korean Army and China’s communist People’s Liberation Red Army. And best of all you can do a MacArthur impression or even Mao!
Yes! I'm hoping to do Conte's Romans & Barbarians soon!
@@ThePlasticGeneral Ave Imperator!
O plastic general in your opinion who was the greatest general of World War Two?
There are many, but Patton has the best Movie.
