I have been searching for a multicam solution using the iPhones I have in the drawer. 😂 I have looked at Camo Studio, Mevo Studio, pricing etc. This may be the solution of choice for my use case. Question… Is there a feature that allows for auto switching for solo content creators? This would be the feature that would make me a subscriber to the app!
Hey, we're so glad this was helpful. We'd also love to recommend trying the iOS app as you can connect two iOS devices locally and record into the same project. The Auto Edit feature works using audio - and will switch speakers based on who is speaking when, with that said if your cameras are picking up the same speaker it won't work. But, the iOS app makes it really easy to toggle cameras (one button).

I was wondering, what camera did you use to shoot this tutorial? Was ist recorder with detail? The quality is pretty dope.

Hey Guys! I'm on a 2019 Macbook Pro (Intel). When I try to stream Detail out to another app (OBS Studio), it does not work, I do not see detail as an option for that, not even on Google meets.

Unfortunately, that probably won't work. We output everything in 30 FPS in Detail - so I'm pretty sure your footage would just be matched to 30 FPS, by taking only every 4th frame.
Yes! You can connect two iPhones and record via the Mac, without recording your Mac's camera. Just set up two scenes in Detail - one for each iPhone and you're good to go! 😊
Doesn't work for me. It gets my feed from the ipad and brings it to the app in the macbook. But when I open Facetime and I switch to Detail in the video camera options nothing happens. It keeps showing the cam of my macbook
Is there a way to set global hotkeys to switch between the scenes on MacOS app? The window "Keyboard Shortcuts" does not show any shortcuts, and there is no way to set them up there, even on pro plan. Is that a bug?
my mac is not letting me use 2 continuity cameras in Detail app. Why not? I'm running OS Ventura 13.6.3 so I was hoping I could use your app to run 2 cameras.
idk why i cant use my back camera with "detail" on my macbook (actually it worked once and that's all) the app detects the camera but the camera itself is pitch black even tho it's not covered by something or facing down on a surface
To use your iPhone back camera, you need to install and open the Detail USB Camera app from the iOS App Store: apps.apple.com/us/app/usb-camera-for-detail-on-mac/id1563218359

@@bimbisaranz we use a nanlight pavotube, but think you should be able to get the same effect with any (slightly larger) RGB light. I’ll try a test with a Philips Hue bar as well.
thanks. still there is something I don't get with Apple's continuity camera. When using the Desk mode, it opens another app but this desk view is not available as a source so unless I record the Mac's screen, I cannot capture that view easily.
We haven't implemented support for Desk View just yet, which is why you can't see it in Detail. Sorry about that - it is on our list though! In the meantime, your screen recording solution is probably your best bet. Or, if you have access to two cameras, we recommend mounting an iPhone above your desk to get a similar shot with a lot more control. Hope that's helps!

Hey there, to record using your iPad and iPhone as camera's you'll need to use the Detail USB Camera app available in the app store.

The macOS app does a pretty good job of syncing the footage and you can also manually adjust it yourself as well.

Yes! You can connect two iPhones and record via the Mac, without recording your Mac's camera. Just set up two scenes in Detail - one for each iPhone and you're good to go! 😊
I am using ecamm tool for live stream. I have 2 iphones and not sure how to connect the 2nd one.
It's really a shame there's not single purchase option. I want to use this occasionally but I have to "hire" this app monthly...

Yes! You can install Detail Camera on your iPad and connect with your Mac.
Will it support iPhone X?
It will probably work with your iPhone X but generally we'd recommend iPhone 11 or later for best performance and stability.
