Hey can you try and make a corset? It's super hard and I want to see if you can do it!! They are super expensive and hard to make and I would love to see you do it!!
Starlit Meadow Just out of curiosity...what part of corsetmaking do you think you would have the most trouble with? I dabbled a bit in it, a couple years ago, and the process is really pretty straightforward. It’s just time consuming and you need to be very precise. But it’s not really terribly complicated.
Amando Pando a walking foot and a twin needle can help too! Or a cheaper option : placing a piece of paper between the needle and fabric when sewing. Good luck!
@@AnnikaVictoria24 could you do a video on the different types of feet for sewing machines?? maybe this is very niche but it sure would be helpful!!!!!
I'm wheelchair bound and I wanted to get a bag specifically for the back of my wheelchair. However, the ones I can find usually come from china and are unusually cheap. So of course I'd love to see you try to make one!
Same here. I came to your channel from Simon and Martina. I have zero idea about sewing but your video sparked my interest in sewing and DIYing clothes. So maybe I'll get myself a sewing machine in the near future :)
Hi everybody! Thanks for watching my new Make Thrift Buy! 😁 English captions are now available! Just did some more edits. I'd say they look really good til 7:00, and someone did a fab job on the Squarespace ad haha. So if someone could double check 7:00-ad that'd be awesome.
Why make a cape when you could have a cloak? Mine would have a dramatic hood. I'd probably feel like little red riding hood on the way to her grandmother's
You are one of the only channels (along with Simon and Martina) who do ads in an interesting and genuine way. I have never felt accosted by your ads. I love you both!
I'm glad you accounted for stretch and suggested people wrap their own fabric because no two stretch materials are alike! 20% seems like a lot but it is rib, if others read this just remember not to remove ALL stretch, because then what would be the point ? :)
If you use a close to eachother zigzag and not to small then you dont have to fold it over for the lettuce hem. Just sew over the edge and give it a good stretch and you will get a beautiful hem. I must say that I prefer it over the serger. I made a lot of them this summet. !
Thanks for the tips! I don't use that method often, as I prefer the serger method, so it's really good to hear how someone who uses a sewing machine does it! :D
that teleportation skill must come in handy when you want to pop into the store really quick, no traffic, no need to be outside when its too cold or hot.
The top came out great Annika! Learning to sew is such a great way to learn more about how clothing is made. When I began learning its definitely something that has changed the way I interact with fashion.
I just upcycled my first piece of clothing (cropped and added a lettuce hem) thanks to this video! Made me feel much less intimidated about using my sewing machine; I'm so happy to have given a new lease of life to something that I was otherwise going to give away. Thank you!
I created a lettuce hem by mistake once and wasn't sure how it happened even though it looked super cute - I'm glad that it was the same way you're teaching! haha
Annika, your channel is amazing!! I love that you talk about the problems with the fast fashion industry and you really inspired me to make sure all of my clothing is second-hand, ethically made, or DIY. Also the two of you are adorable. I rarely watch the ends of videos when it's just about the sponsorship but you were too cute to leave.
You always make me smile Annika! Stay awesome! I hope Luci recovers from his man flu soon. Men are always a bit pathetic with cold and flu. I hope you haven't caught his germs. There's so many late summer/early autumn cold's going around the uk at the moment so you can bet with my weak immune system I can't fight it off. The joys of being a babe with a mobility aid and plenty of invisible illnesses!
OMFG Annika in your last clip with Luci, we have the same heart earrings!! The one where one is smaller than the other! They’re so cute. I forget who the artist is who made it but it was a gift.

I’d love to see a video from you on learning to follow commercial patterns better! I love you way of explaining stuff. I’ve been sewing for almost 7 years and still don’t know how to follow them 😳
I've been watching you for years and I recently started teaching myself to embroider now that I have time to try! I know it's not your main thing, but the (at least) one video you've done really inspired me and made me think maybe I can!
honestly your sponsor sections are the only ones I can sit through, it's so sweet and lovely to see you and it makes me feel like I'm there with you guys having a bit of a joke and a chat? that's weird, since you're selling something, but still haha

this would look totally cute with long bell sleeves (and also exactly look like those shirts I used to wear as a little kid)😊🌻 but hey! fashion trends repeat themselves😁
Annika! You should go back and do an updated tutorial on the suspender skirt that you did in your childhood. I liked it and I'd like to make it myself.
That looked super cute with the light pink in your hair too! Is there any reason why you don't sew in the elastic with the scalloped edge? Or is that just to avoid making a ruffled hem instead of a scalloped one? Would it even look good to have a ruffled scalloped edge? I think it would look even better in a fabric with a bit more of an obvious rib to it, or even a pattern. Then you can't see that elastic has been sewn into it and it would look a bit more magic. Would you consider doing an episode on adding pockets to things? Especially those sneaky items of clothing that have fake pockets, or even go to the trouble of having a working zipper that only opens to a sewn piece of fabric where a pocket ought to be. I would consider adding pockets to things if I was any good at choosing materials etc. I remember once I hated the design on the front of a school bag that had one of those plasticky things on the front. I chose a cute pattern (well, to a teenager I guess fluoro wavy stripes and butterflies is cute/cool), unpicked the stitching that attached the plasticky material to the curved zipper piece, used that as a template and carefully hand sewed my new material in its place. Except it was a stretchy material more suited to a dress or t-shirt than a bag, so I couldn't actually use the front pocket for anything now. And of course my hand-sewing was nowhere near the strength and durability that would be needed for a bag. It was fun for a bit though.

I think Annika should work her way up to corsetry by making a strapless shirt/dress with boning first.

Can you make a cape???
I wanna feel like a princes disguising herself amd running from my own guards
A way to make a cape is just to make a very long circle skirt and add a rectangle to the neck to fold over as a collar.
