My most favourite song from this album is “Giants”. I can’t scream my lungs out where I live without alerting the neighbours so it’s very cathartic when Dan screams. It’s like he screams out my pain *for* me, I’m grateful for that. I love all of the songs in this album and I listen them all on repeat ❤️

Giants has definitely grown on me a lot since doing this review! While the screaming definitely scares people that I share the song with, after the first few times of hearing it, I was able to get over how it sounded and saw the positive effect its got on the emotion of the song.

Wrecked is very special to me, it reminds me of last September, when my cousin passed away, we were getting close and he was really nice. I miss him from time to time. Tried to be manly about it and I broke when I seen the last video he was in. This song reminds me of him, it hits just right in the feels. Giants and Dull Knives are also favorites on this album, they are both catchy.
I've been an ID fan for 8 years now and I think this is by far the most honest review of imagine dragons I've ever seen (including reacts from fanboys and haters) I know music taste and opinions in general are really personal and relative but it's absurd the amount of hate they get for no reason. People just love to trash anything they put out. weird obsession. Im a fan that loves the entirety of this album and honestly if you actually put some songs in the asscheek tier I would still love this review because you actually cared about listening to it open minded, so thank you! really great video!

The screaming in Giants has some major emotion behind it, but there is actually a "pitch" to screaming and it's REALLY off pitch in it which makes it kind of awful to listen to, which is a shame because the rest of the song is really good, especially that second half of the chorus. Dull Knives I think approaches it a lot better, he hits the notes really well, the head voice note in the chorus is intended for emotion again but it's actually ON PITCH unlike Giants lol, the distorted Dull Knives before that line was up at like C#5 which is insane to get with that much power anyway which is why there was breaking towards the end of the note. Cutthroat I personally think is where his yell/distortion/screaming was the best done, chorus hit hard. I really hope they continue to make songs with heavily distorted vocals but PLEASE do NOT release more songs that have screaming that is so far from the right pitch like in Giants.... ew.

Giants is supposed to be a parallel for withdrawal and addiction. I would expect the vocals to be just as off key as the subject of the song is feeling. It's just my two cents :)
Has anyone considered that the off pitch may have been intentional to make it look like so? I mean the song literally deals with a bit of distortion itself. I enjoyed his screaming because I think it fits in with the theme of the song and of course its my top 2 from the album so I may be biased. Great video! A little bit butthurt about “Dancing in the dark” being asscheeks as its was one of my favs out of evolve. Absolutely hated cutthroat at first but its slowly grown on me. Definitely a nice change with this album. I do miss the old stuff though, but they have to change with the times!
I'm sorry I had to let you down with DITD, I gave it a fair chance during my Evolve tier list! 😂 This album definitely was a nice change and I'm just glad that they were able to put something out for all of us to enjoy.
Giants is my favorite song of all time! Possibly the best song for me out of all the Dragons. I really like the contrasts in this song, everything changes quickly. She expresses those emotions that sometimes you can not splash out. It is a masterpiece

I loved the whole album, even the controversial one Cutthroat, and that's just my opinion. I guess I'm a big fanboy of them, so most if not all songs are my instant favorites. I loved the believer album and dancing in the dark, and I know it's not for everyone.
So it's been 10 months and my opinions have changed a bit. I can listen to cutthroat and honestly like it now. I still think lonely is my favorite. I used to hate giants, upon rewatching this I realized I like the beginning until he maxes out the mic. I also still hate it's okay

I think I like ID, not because of the songs individually (although I like most of them really much), but of all the differences between them. You've got a song for every mood, not only with words, but different sound usages
I’ll be honest, I also thought Lonely was average when I first heard it. But I’ve grown to love it, and learning the verses is a fun ride in and of itself.
This album feels alot more cohesive then people say. In fact, all Imagine Dragons albums do. People like to go on and on about how there’s little tying the songs together and yada-yada, but I can really hear something similar about songs in each album. Not sure what exactly, but I can instantly tell if a song aounds more Evolvly or Smoke + Mirrory just from listening.
I actually really like #1 not that I have a lack of confidence but because it reminds me of when I, as a student, do everything late but still manage to do a somewhat good job (gaming gets into everything dude).Then I saw my university reports or whatever it's called and I was #1 in ranking. Nothing is impossible, you just try. And that song just makes me keep this up, looking forward to what's next 2021-2022.

But I believe Dans screaming is not as bad as people make it out to be. He's done it before in loud voices like in Rise Up, Sucker for Pain, Original Loser, Natural, I'm So Sorry and they were all good. Even this album, Giants is my absolute favorite and I believe the screaming bridge adds to that through a thematic window. Dull Knives is basically the rock everyone expects from ID but then complains because of a little screaming which definitely doesn’t sound bad- its great imo. And Cutthroat is like the different thing they try in every album and this time only it was perfect with the piano base line, unique outro and an overall dark theme. Other than that, I can see where you’re coming from. Kudos on the good work.
My top 5 songs 1: wrecked 2: giants 3: dull knives 4: my life 5: no time for toxic people Wrecked has been my favorite ever since it came out and it's a really important song to me. Giants at first wasn't really my favorite when the album first came out but overtime it grew on me the more I listened to it and now it's one of my favorites, giants and dull knives gives me chills everytime time I listen to it. I personally really like "it's ok" and "cutthroat", it's okay is a song I really needed after going through hard times and cutthroat just sounds cool to me.

I think you give good reasons for all of your opinions, and I respect that alot. But some of my personal takes are that I LOVE "Cutthroat", "Dull Knives", "One day", and I think "It's Ok" should be higher, but not A tier. And I really can't listen to "Follow You", because I personally don't like the whole "I'll follow yoou-ou-ou", and the repetitions like "You know I got your number, number all night" thing. All in all, great video and great arguments for the most part! Keep up the great work

I'm a year late, but whatever. I love listening to people rating some of my favorite music, and Imagine Dragons is probably my favorite band these days. It's funny you put Follow You up top, because that one didn't really hit me until I heard the song live. That's when I really started to not skip it when it came on. My Life, Wrecked, Monday, absolutely up there as well, so I agree, a lot of those get me moving like crazy. Lonely is my jam though, and they did actually play it live when I saw them last summer. I love that song so much, it's a bop in the car no doubt. Easy Come Easy Go, No Time For Toxic People and Cutthroat are probably those that I would put higher. The first two because I just like the songs, especially Easy Come Easy Come is genuinelly just chill while No Time For Toxic People gets me in a really good mood. I wasn't that big of a fan of Cutthroat in the beginning, but I use it when I'm at the gym, and it really pumps me up. I would otherwise say I agree with the list.

Just a random message because I think Cutthroat is a powerful song So it's July of 2021, the pandemic is still going on and classes are online. I have this final exam of physics but my teacher is so lazy to teach us anything so he just gave us exercises and weird presentations to study and pass the exam, I needed to pass it because it was important and because I had failed his previous test for the first time in all my life. I've always had good grades so failing the previous exam made my parents get super angry and strict towards me so I HAD to pass the exam. Studying physics was hard, not because of the subject but the teacher since I was so angry at him for not teaching us well, so I remember I used to play this song over and over and oof, it was huge motivation, it made stuff be easier to study and get over my anger towards the teacher. Playing the song before I started the exam gave me a lot of courage to nail the exam and so did I and now when I have to deal with difficult stuff at school or with people, I play that song and I feel powerful and like I have the courage to get over it so it's actually nice.
My god I thought I was the only person who hated Dancing in the Dark (first ID song I just plain didn't like and haven't listened to since) And then I just don't like Cutthroat I think it sounds like a mess. Like they had so many ideas and sounds that weren't enough for multiple individual songs so they mashed it together and called it a day. So it's just those 2 songs I can't get on board with. I also totally agree about Dan's screaming. It's commendable to try and at points I'm cool with it. I like Dull Knives in its entirety but when he breaks the mic toward the end of Giants I just cringe which is a shame because the rest of the song is a bop

Dull Knives is basically the rock everyone expects from ID but then complains because of a little screaming which definitely doesn’t sound bad- its great imo. And Cutthroat is like the different thing they try in every album and this time only it was perfect with the piano base line, unique outro and an overall dark theme.
Other than that, I can see where you’re coming from. Kudos on the good work.

Wrecked has been my favorite ever since it came out and it's a really important song to me. Giants at first wasn't really my favorite when the album first came out but overtime it grew on me the more I listened to it and now it's one of my favorites, giants and dull knives gives me chills everytime time I listen to it. I personally really like "it's ok" and "cutthroat", it's okay is a song I really needed after going through hard times and cutthroat just sounds cool to me.

I think you give good reasons for all of your opinions, and I respect that alot. But some of my personal takes are that I LOVE "Cutthroat", "Dull Knives", "One day", and I think "It's Ok" should be higher, but not A tier. And I really can't listen to "Follow You", because I personally don't like the whole "I'll follow yoou-ou-ou", and the repetitions like "You know I got your number, number all night" thing. All in all, great video and great arguments for the most part! Keep up the great work

If I’m being completely honest, cutthroat was the WORST song they EVER released.
when i first listened the album I absolutely hated it, and then I started understanding them and that made me love all the songs

I'm a year late, but whatever. I love listening to people rating some of my favorite music, and Imagine Dragons is probably my favorite band these days. It's funny you put Follow You up top, because that one didn't really hit me until I heard the song live. That's when I really started to not skip it when it came on. My Life, Wrecked, Monday, absolutely up there as well, so I agree, a lot of those get me moving like crazy. Lonely is my jam though, and they did actually play it live when I saw them last summer. I love that song so much, it's a bop in the car no doubt. Easy Come Easy Go, No Time For Toxic People and Cutthroat are probably those that I would put higher. The first two because I just like the songs, especially Easy Come Easy Come is genuinelly just chill while No Time For Toxic People gets me in a really good mood. I wasn't that big of a fan of Cutthroat in the beginning, but I use it when I'm at the gym, and it really pumps me up. I would otherwise say I agree with the list.

Can I point out how everyone hates Monday and yet “You are my Monday, you’re the best day of the week”
There was a skip in “It’s Ok,” and that’s not ok.
You have to know Dan was going through a rough patch in his his marriage before writng this album and nearly got divorced.
Just a random message because I think Cutthroat is a powerful song
So it's July of 2021, the pandemic is still going on and classes are online. I have this final exam of physics but my teacher is so lazy to teach us anything so he just gave us exercises and weird presentations to study and pass the exam, I needed to pass it because it was important and because I had failed his previous test for the first time in all my life. I've always had good grades so failing the previous exam made my parents get super angry and strict towards me so I HAD to pass the exam. Studying physics was hard, not because of the subject but the teacher since I was so angry at him for not teaching us well, so I remember I used to play this song over and over and oof, it was huge motivation, it made stuff be easier to study and get over my anger towards the teacher. Playing the song before I started the exam gave me a lot of courage to nail the exam and so did I and now when I have to deal with difficult stuff at school or with people, I play that song and I feel powerful and like I have the courage to get over it so it's actually nice.
I love imagine dragons and I love all there songs but some of my tops come from this album 🤣

Liked the video but after you put Giants in “B” I had to dislike it and stop watching
My god I thought I was the only person who hated Dancing in the Dark (first ID song I just plain didn't like and haven't listened to since)
And then I just don't like Cutthroat I think it sounds like a mess. Like they had so many ideas and sounds that weren't enough for multiple individual songs so they mashed it together and called it a day. So it's just those 2 songs I can't get on board with.
I also totally agree about Dan's screaming. It's commendable to try and at points I'm cool with it. I like Dull Knives in its entirety but when he breaks the mic toward the end of Giants I just cringe which is a shame because the rest of the song is a bop
