- This desk was built over 4-5 weeks. The wood is ruff cut pine, the boards were lap joined and painted with water based polyurethane. The steel was blacked with Jax Blackener and coated with permalac.com . David Waelder assisted in the fabrication of the desk and the video! thank you Dave! Thank you to www.longevity-i... .

That turned out great Jimmy. I love your method of lining up those drawer handles, I filed that away and will try it the next time I install handles.
Absolutely. Amazing how the smallest things can still blow your mind!
It was epic. I would have never thought of that. I always learn something when watching Jimmy's videos.
I call myself technically inclined, but I wouldn't have thought of this method in a million years.
I agree, very clever use of geometry ... I'll have to remember this. I've used intersecting lines to find the center, but I've never considered just making them parallel to find the exact spots that quickly.
Hey guy,
I just wanted to let you guys know that I just checked my Subscription box and I seen that Jimmy DiResta uploaded a new video. I just want to tell you guys how happy I am. I have been bored and lonely searching the youtubes for something to watch, and when I noticed that DiResta had a new project for me to enjoy my boredom faded away. Let's all enjoy this video together.
Awesome work, as an old tradesman who's been off the tools for years, your channel inspired me to get into my wee workshop and have fun. love dirty money too .
Thank you Mr Diresta.
I have said it before, and I am sure I will always be saying it: You are awesome! I totally love your woodworking projects, and you have a great eye for mixing metal and wood.
Behold, a desk of unparalleled construction, with durability and style! I love things that are overbuilt.
That has got to be one of the strongest desks I've ever seen. As always, awesome craftsmanship, Jimmy. Truly inspirational!
That trick to finder the centers for the drawer pulls is f'ing mind blowing. I had to go back and put that at 1/4 speed to see what you did there. Thank you for that incredible nugget of info.
+Tony Dew yeah I was seriously impressed with that trick - so simple and useful.
no music no talking but cant look away, so compelling and interesting to watch. oh and the piece is beautiful as always

Ogni volta mi fai rimanere senza parole..... Sei veramente bravo...
Neat trick with the Drawer handle centering. None of these master carpenters and cabinet makers I work with seem to know about it. Keep making.
The layout for the drawer pull holes is awesome!
That was impressive. The engineering to be able to get that monster out of the shop was impressive. The finished product was beautiful. I'm sure the customer was thrilled.

I have never seen this way of marking out drawer handles.
I have installed at least a few thousand drawers with the same D handle used here,
Genuinely amazed
Thank you i will try this, and will probably use that method for the rest of my life,.
Beautifully done. Also I have never seen anyone figure the drawer pull placement like that, what a great idea.
After seeing that technique for marking the drawer pull holes, I had to pause the video and reevaluate my life for a minute.
I loved the method you used for lining up the drawer pulls Jimmy, I'll have to remember that one in future. The desk looked great too, with a lovely solidity to it.
Thanks as always
Jimmy, your creativity and execution always amaze me. Keep it up. I love what you do!
Dear Jimmy, you keep surprising me with your craftsmanship. Another piece of art from you. I can watch your videos all day long, and some of them I have been watching more than one time I can tell you. I have learned a lot from your skills. Thanks a lot bro, and keep it coming. Beautiful work. I'm going to remember that drawer handle placement trick at 10:47, nice bit of practical geometry right there.
Watching yours and Steve Ramsey's channel makes want to buy all my wood furniture custom. Nice Job.
I wouldn't wanna move that thing but man would I be proud to own that thing! great build Jimmy!
That desk will last 300 years! Great job! (as usual)
You never cease to amaze Jimmy. (And your watch is still pristine!) The trick for centering the handle is great...going to run to the shop and try that out!
The centering method is great, so much easier than all the other times I've done it. Had to pause it a couple times to see what you're doing, but I got it. Thanks!
TOTALLY!
What else can be said, awesome piece and video as always. Thanks Jimmy!

It can double as a engine rebuild station, nice fabrication. The level welding table I was jealous, never had one that good.
I had to watch the handle install a few times to figure out what you were doing. Brilliant technique for locating the mounting holes. I'm writing that one down. Thanks!

Sos un Maestro!!!!. Desde Argentina te mando un abrazo y felicitaciones por tus habilidades!!!
You are a genius a master craftsman I have seen every single one of your videos the two now it is my favorite video I watch it over and over how simple of a creation and how wonderful of an art piece but not to sound weird or nothing but how do you create your ideas can you make a video on how ideas come about or create something on how you make your ideas come true thank you you rock
Terminator would have been a much different movie if the police station had this reception desk. Great work
loooove the trick for centering the handles!
Heavy duty project. ! Very nicely done. !
Your welding is beautiful! I love your work
Beautiful result. I really like it and im not into rustic furniture in generel. Thanks for the tip with mounting the drawer pulls. I did not know that one :) Obvious now, you showed it :D
I would not classify that as "rustic". It was more "upcycled industrial".
patriotsriot YES, more accurate description. BUT Beautiful non the less !!!
Excellent work, as usual.
