  • This desk was built over 4-5 weeks. The wood is ruff cut pine, the boards were lap joined and painted with water based polyurethane. The steel was blacked with Jax Blackener and coated with permalac.com . David Waelder assisted in the fabrication of the desk and the video! thank you Dave! Thank you to www.longevity-i... .

    That turned out great Jimmy. I love your method of lining up those drawer handles, I filed that away and will try it the next time I install handles.

      I agree, very clever use of geometry ... I'll have to remember this. I've used intersecting lines to find the center, but I've never considered just making them parallel to find the exact spots that quickly.

    That trick to finder the centers for the drawer pulls is f'ing mind blowing. I had to go back and put that at 1/4 speed to see what you did there. Thank you for that incredible nugget of info.

    Neat trick with the Drawer handle centering. None of these master carpenters and cabinet makers I work with seem to know about it. Keep making.

    That was impressive. The engineering to be able to get that monster out of the shop was impressive. The finished product was beautiful. I'm sure the customer was thrilled.

    I have never seen this way of marking out drawer handles.
    I have installed at least a few thousand drawers with the same D handle used here,
    Genuinely amazed

    idk what it is but my thing recently is drinking beer and watching woodworking videos. the combination is just euphoria for me. I wish I had a shop like that. haven't made anything since high school wood shop class but I miss the smell of saw dust.
