    Love my 6D. It’s an awesome camera. Very capable and a real bargain now people are jumping ship to mirrorless. Got mine used for $200 which is amazing for what you can do with it.

    Awesome review and everything you've said about the 6D is 100% accurate and back in 2012 the camera had many advanced features. If you need fast frame rates why not pick up a 7D mark II? I use a 6D and 7D mark II and the combo is perfect and the 7D mark II is cheap, you can pick up a low mileage body for less than $400.00 in the US.

    Hi Mark. Thanks for your review. The 6D is still my main camera, and I have no need to "upgrade."
    If you are shooting fast action sports or wildlife photography, then maybe look elsewhere. For all other genres, it's still one of the best ever and, as you say, such a bargain these days.
    Get a couple of used EF L lenses and the total cost will still be far less than that of a mirrorless full frame body - maybe around £1,000 total outlay.
    The sensor gives fantastic results! Ergonomics are great! It's really tough, and I know people who have picked up cosmetically damaged versions that have been tested by reputable sellers such as MPB and the camera still works great...

      I totally agree with you! That's exactly how I feel about it. The 6D is my wife's workhorse when it comes to photography, I just borrow it every now and then to shoot and whenever I bring back the RAW files into Lightroom, I still can't believe the images it produces, it can easily compete with my Sony A7IV's image quality!

      is the 6D usable at 6400ISO? can the servo mode keep up? thanks in advance.

    • @markfriday
      @markfriday  4 месяца назад

      I would say it's about 80% usable, depending on how contrasty the image is, if the shadows are lifted too much, you'll definitely see some grain building up but it's nothing Lightroom/Premiere pro can't clean up with the new denoising features. As for the servo, as long as it's not a fast moving subject, you should be fine.

    Based on the rave reviews from every reputable corner of YT, I stepped back into the Canon digital realm and bught a truly mint 6D (many years ago I had a 5DMk2 in kit). I just expected the same unparalleled Canon color space and clarity, maybe also close to the 5D classic. However, I was disappointed by the pictures rendered in terms of color and also focus. Probably, I happened to have a Monday model. I just sold it. Nevertheless, if the pictures are OK and to your liking, the 6D is a true bargain, indeed.

      Hey, Gustavo. I did post some photos as B-roll here. My wife's main camera for shooting portraits and weddings is the Canon 6D. She trusts it more than Sony mirrorless cameras. The Canon 6D's sensor, for the price, is amazing. As long as you have enough practice to use the camera, you'll be able to use it in professional shoots, it''s about knowing which autofocus point to use at whichever given moment you're in. As for the price, I think it's a no-brainer, especially when you consider what other camera companies offer, Like Sony's cheapest full frame camera is the A7C, and it's nowhere near as cheap as a Canon6d with an included lens.

    This talk of shooting at iso 3200 and 6400...is that for photos? Or video?
    I have a 6d and it is NOT a good low light camera.
    Also, a huge drawback is it's auto focus for stills. Only 11 points, and they are all clustered in the middle of the frame. So if, say, your subject is standing in the corner of a blank wall, you'd would have to focus and recompose. It was always super annoying. Probably the main reason I stopped using the camera.
