I have been around a nice while now, but i have seen all 3 greats, and Carlos is the most COMPLETE player i have ever seen. At just 21yrs he is still growing as a player. I feel Carlos has no technical limitations. He has such a raoid learning curb too. Such a rare talent especially in this modern era. Literally from the very first ball strike, Carlos was all in Novak's face. I have seen Novak lose badly, but this match was a crushing display of the game's new face. Carlos is that face and the game is exciting once again.

Carlos took a bit of a dip toward the end of last year and the beginning of this year and all the naysayers came out of hiding with the "i told you so!" bull**** comments, and now, once again they look stupid. It was just hype when we said he could win multiple majors, it wasn't just hype when we said he could beat ANYONE, including Novak, it wasn't just hype when we said that he had the potential to go down as one of the great(barring any major injuries) and now all that "hype" is here in real life. The kid is 21 with 4 majors and potentially can be a player who could replicate what Rafa has done at Roland Garros and is also better on hard courts and grass than both Rafa and Roger at 21. This kid is here and he is here to stay. I have no doubts in my mind Carlos will win a MINIMUM of 15 slams.

I knew he was overwhelmed at Wimbledon he looked like a deer in headlights.
They made such a big deal about him he was on every talk show he was everywhere it didn't happen for the French this year or even wimbled in the second time.
And then in Cincinnati when he lost a Novak 7/6 in the 3rd that was the first time the crowd turned against him.
Novak pulled out all his tricks as a magician with his temporary heat stroke for 10 minutes and all of that crap I've never seen Carlos Alvarez have the crowd rooting against him.
He cried on the court for the first time ever and it took him a long time to recover from that loss and just being overwhelmed.
It's not hard to figure out You get very little time off and it's funny no one talks about this arm problem he had that mysteriously resolved itself but I think he needed a mental break and I'm glad he took time off in the clay season I don't think he would have won these two grand slams.

@@colethomas903 We have known for a long time that toxic Novak fans have always felt threatened by Carlos after Madrid 2022, for very good reasons. So the excuses will never stop even though they know Carlos has more than proven himself now, however there is some merit to the argument about what Carlos priorities should be. Consider this year, he was injured and hardly played the clay season and also lost at Queens but saved himself for the slams. Of course there is story behind his arm injury and how he fixed it, but in my opinion he doesn't have to play all masters 1000 every year. like monte carlo or rome, or Toronto vs cincy. he can alternate every year or try to strike a balance with the schedule to save himself for the big events. i know participation is mandatory for most but he should be selective for now until he hits his peak physical level at 24 (in 3 years) . just my opinion.

Also, there's only 11 months' age difference between Nadal and Djokovic, who was dominated by Nadal through around 2013 (when Djokovic turned 26 in May and Nadal turned 27 in June), bar the year 2011, when Nadal was not playing as well as in 2010 and Djokovic had an annus mirabilis (although he lost an excellent French Open SF to Federer).

Musetti needs to play aggressively. He has the variety to have the plan B ready but if he can play freely, he can win big tournaments.
Alcaraz is the best right now. He will be the man to beat in every tournament he plays.
Sinner needs to work on his slice and his fitness. If he keeps thumping from the baseline with no slice to showcase variety, then players like Medvedev etc can beat him on their day.
Djokovic needs a coach, more match practice and a raise in level. And this will happen soon. If it will be enough to beat Alcaraz and Sinner, that's to be seen.

Although WI 2009 hurts as Andy deserved the victory there similar to Rogers loss at WI 2019, it shouldn't take away the phenomenal performance put up in those matches.

However, as a Novak fan, have watched how he played so many times, the final was ‘not the way he typically plays’, clearly he did not want to stress his knee much, he also did not do his typical ‘signature’ shots, etc. that is why I agree with Andy’s comments Novak’s tactics do not make sense (won’t win) but he knows what he was doing.
There is always a recency bias. Just not too long ago, Novak beat both Carlos and sinner like 6-2/6-2 at ATP final. Now Sinner #1, Carlos 2 majors. I still believe Novak will get back in form to be a solid top 3.
