In Japanese, Ultima said the equivalent spell/summon name in final fantasy III and everyone else just said "Clive" in response. English version is superior in this scene and several other cool scenes, but Japanese are much more coherent story wise. English went unecessarily cryptic on many scenes.

In Ultima's case, they're merely using it as a tool casting aside all that used to wield that power, just as he would cast aside humanity in its entirety. If someone disgraced your friends, how would that make you feel?

Just imagine if with the update of The Rising Tides DLC, they added an extra part of the fight where Ultima uses Leviathan, Clive matches it and Shula, Otto, or Torgal spurs him on too.

It seems Square Enix acknowledged that Capcom did something right with Asura's Wrath and made it better.
When the dlc arrives and so the eikon leviathan I bet ultima will say “Tides Unwavering” idk, I just feel it

I think the craziest thing about Clive is that he’s beating all XVI Ultimas, COMBINED, IN HIS BASE FORM!
One ultima was already incomprehensibly powerful enough to make multiple dimensions(Arete stone, chronolith trials) and universes(interdimesional rift and theoretically omegas universe as ultima is above omega). Creation manipulation is the cherry on top of
That’s not even getting into leviathan being capable of making a portal to who knows where.

Why can they can both use a summons power at the same time?
basically clive harnessed the power of the eikons from the other dominants (dominants are basically the vessels for the eikons in this world) and ultima if memory serves basically CREATED the dominants, or at the very least the eikons housed within them so its not really all that surprising ultima can use the very same power, heck in the rising tide DLC we even finally get access to ultima's power for ourselves

Phase one is called hymn of the pentitent.
