Literally studying the life of Imam Malik i felt i had no choice but to adopt the Maliki Madhab, the evidence and the ideology of Amal of the people of Madinah and how he actually inherited the practice of the religion and its legal practice was acted upon it completely convinced me
Agree. Also, Imam e Azam (Abu Hanifa رحمة الله) met Imam Malik and he studied from couple of Sahabas directly and lived with Tabaeens including Imam Bakr رحمة الله and Imam Abu Jafar as Sadiq رحمة الله. So Amal e Mutawatir and truth is with these two scholars. I am a Hanafi. Alhamdulillah!
Yes, I do, it was actually the reason why I discovered the Maliki way of understanding the implementation of Islamic jurisprudence, just wanted to know why there were many different positions of the hands in the prayer, I mean the Salaah was practiced daily, but so many different positions, and I was coming from learning Islam according to the current"Salaafi" adaptation of acting solely on Ahadith to perform the salaah, being a revert, you basically learn from a particular book, lavished in praise for being the correct way according to Hadith,

Another excellent conversation, I'd just started on the Muwatta a few days before this conversation was announced. I will read with more enthusiasm after this.
33:30 it is also worth remembering that Abu Hurayra RA was among the poor companions and so perhaps that’s why he didn’t want to miss the meal, may Allah be pleased with him. He narrates many stories of his hunger and poverty and I think sometimes we forget what the companions went through in order to deliver this message to us may Allah be pleased with them all.
Very beautiful indeed, I feel as if I travelled back in time. I felt the fragrance of the early Muslims epoch. How every aspect of life was moral, spiritual and beautiful.. Thanks for this wonderful, informative lecture
This is such a great talk show. Not dragging at all. Straight to the point. You're amazing, Mr Paul. Alhamdulillah. And all your honourable guests. Please keep it up..always looking forward to your videos. Salam from Penang.
A nostalgic and inspirational episode to say the least. More than just a Hadith collection , It seems like the Muttawa is a time capsule which allows reader to experience the life of the early generation knowledge seekers. Excellent episode!
Well, Paul I heard it all. And enjoyed it as always.👍 I heard Bayyina chanel (don't know its proper spellings) Sheikh Salman, a young man I think from USA. That was more in depth, actually all the four imams. Secondly, I would request you to invite Professor Rafique Akhtar. He keeps visiting Europe. Its a treat listening to him. Looking forward to that. Thanks.
That's a very interesting point about what counts as evidence in secular critical scholarship and traditional Islamic scholarship. The Muwatta is a monumental text. I'm glad he delved a bit into the politics of the time as well. May I also humbly request that you consider going through the great narrators of Hadith as well with the sheikh or even the seven fuqaha of Medina? I really enjoy these videos. I always am struck by new things I didn't hear of before.
Thank you Shaykh Hamza for your insights on Imam Malik bin Anas. One of the reasons why Blogging Theology is a must listen is the honest, humble conversations. 49:54 onwards is a must listen to learners, students of knowledge.
His story is just beautiful, and qadarullah.. he actually was the first of 4 imam Madzhab which i learned his life of (from a channel named as Islamic Guidance) His stance to not stating opinions and prefer to say "i don't know" despite a man has to travel far away from his land just to ask for some fatwa regarding Things on behalf of his people , it says a lot of his piety
Jazak Allah, both gentlemen. I learned about the chain of custody from this conversation : a new and important piece of information indeed. I shall be sharing this video with my teenaged children, so they can see the intricate process of the preservation of the Sunnah and the culture of scholarship during the Khair al Qaroon.

I am actually pissed off, the Muwatta has been pushed to the side, very disrespectful! I'm just now learning about all these things this past few days about Imam Malik.
Imam Malik bin Anas was not a Maturidi, a Sufi, or a Shiite, but rather a Salafist in the faith Imam Malik expelled someone who was asking the same questions and philosophy as the Ash'aris
Excellent presentation, except for the introduction, which needs to be more accurate. AFAIK the schools of Mu'tazilah, Syi'ah, Murji'ah, Khawarij, Maliki, Hanafi, Syafi'i, Hambali, etc., were invented far after that time.
These two gentlemen are chained to a holy book they believe is the inspired words of a barbaric Hebrew god named Yahweh they have never seen but only believed - using the shared power of their own imaginations.

Not a very impressive presentation by Hamza Karmali. Hesitant and broken chain of thought. Also very troubling was the use of English names for the Arabic and original names like using Caliph instead of Khalifah and Gabriel instead of Jibrael. Overall very disappointed.
Either Islam is true or evolution is true. We know evolution is irrefutable. We have irrefutable evidence of evolution. Paleontology, anthropology, biology, geology. genealogy and archeology all agree. You have a book written by a man who claims an angel spoke to him in a cave.
Islam doesn't have anything against Micro evolution. But only problem with macro evolution. And science doesn't have enough evidence to back macro evolution.
For god sake man don't go into details.even for a smart guy like you books worm you will got confused and mis guided not to mention that you confuse your audience too.
