4 weeks to go, and the family continues to tackle a long list of projects around the Château in preparation for this September's workshop, "Retreat to the Château" with the amazing @johannaspinks . All while continuing to welcome various guests throughout the summer months.

Once again, your family is raising the bar in showing us how to methodically and sensibly restore a stunning chateau. I'm sure undertaking this major project isn't always a rosy experience 24/7 and you're all taking it in stride! Bravo and kudos to all of you!

Your Dad looks totally destressed now. Wow your Mom is great at the sanding and staining. I love the sound of the creaky wood floors in old chateaus etc. You guys are breathing new life into Puy Vidal, taking care of all the little spots that had been ignored

The entry door is beautiful! The stain's orange hue really plays wonderfully against the greens of the foliage. You have all done so much in the short time you have been at Puy Vidal.

That message in French behind the wallpaper was saying that the Sconces were a little high (on the wall), I guess they thought they should be lower. What a fantastic chateau and grounds. I just came across you guys today because of the get-together you all participated in with Stephanie Jarvis. Love what your mother did with that door, and renovating that door knocker, and just everything, really.

When you work with a purpose of mind, you feel a sense of happiness, I admire all of you for your relentless determination, consistency, and discipline that you so happily show in your videos, I will continue to watch your videos that somehow takes us to another way of life; one that's away from cellular phones and computers, I feel so happy watching your video, somehow my character resonate to this kind of living so thank you for making a difference.
Unlike what a lot of foreign owners of châteaux do on RUclips, you share with your audience your experience of the country you now live in, the visits, the time off, your interactions with people and places, and it really makes a difference 🙂 In my opinion, as a Frenchman, lots of châteaux's owners seem to live in a bubble, so much so that at the end of the day, they could live anywhere on the planet and only the architecture could tell us where they are. Yet, it is important to see how people build for themselves a new life, through all the aspects. And that is what you do : you show your neighbourhood, the people around you, how you also live outside the château - in brief, a whole life.
So thank you for sharing with us the entirety of your new life here, and for taking us with you in your strolls and explorations !

This is like 15 vlogs all smushed into this one, you covered so much!
It's fun to see your family dynamic a work. I like to see how Dad helps decide where to put the kitchen, etc. Old guys are smart. Listen to us. LOL. I'm 83 and know everything now. LOL
I'd rent or buy a wallpaper steamer for prob $65. or $70. to remove all that wallpaper. It works so much faster & is less tedious. Don't forget to use wallpaper primer before you hang the paper.

The doors you mom worked on came out so beautiful! Tiles would look lovely applied to the risers of the stairs your mom did. Painted risers always get scuffed and dirty, especially light colors. Looking forward to seeing the bedroom walls finished too. Love the wallpaper you bought. New flooring in the Pavillion rooms will make a huge impact and I love the color/style you chose. So much progress!!!

There are some really great carpet cleaning options these days that can make old carpet look new again so I think your carpeted stairway can look beautiful once you do that. The Chateau is really coming together and I am so impressed with all of the work ethic involved from each of you!
Yes, my thought too. Run a carpet steamer over the stairs. I’m sure it will come up well.

Hello from Texas. After soaking the paper towels with acetone, cover them with plastic(garbage bag) it keeps the acetone from drying out to fast and soaks into the adhesive better. It works well also on all adhesive glues on other objects. But be careful on painted surfaces that you don't want to remove the paint or guilde.

The central utility room is a great plan! A suggestion, make it secure. A saboteur could take out all your utilities at once, quite easily.

I agree, I can’t wait for another video to see what you accomplish. I love your decorating taste, the colors you choose, your work ethic. You aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty which I admire.
You might want to think about getting some rolling garden stools. Mine are about a foot tall, one has storage in the seat. I've found that when I was redecorating my 100 year old house, it was a great tool for working down low, painting base boards, etc because you don't have to get on your knees or even get up and down. You just roll along as you work. They're also good in the garden. Amazon has them.
There's no mark on the bottom of the teapot? You might be able to do a google image search.

The refinished doors, walls, stairs and floors are just amazing (the tip for glue removal on the stairs-going onto paper & into my home file-excellent work on the stairs!!). Your gardens are fabulous and lush. What this video shows is how you’ve all come together and formed a really effective and productive team to turn a Chateau into your home and place of business, all while running it with guests staying!! Another beautifully crafted video. You ladies rock making Puy Vidal videos! Maruca-the door is exquisite. I wonder how many years it has been since it was last lovingly cleaned and stained and the beautiful door fixture polished? And I really had to chuckle at Penelope’s joy at removing wallpaper. You lucked out on how easily (at least it looked easy) those big pieces of paper peeled from the wall. I know you all work really hard on bringing the chateau to life, and yet the way you film and present the videos, it appears to be done with grace and ease! So lovely to watch-maybe because you pace the videos so well.

I love the outside door and the door knocker, looks beautiful and the details on the knocker can be seen so much better and enhances the door, the stair and hallway r beautiful as well, instead of painting the risers on the stairs, some beautiful wallpaper would look good there also.. thx for sharing and all of I r doing a wonderful job♥️🌹

I taped a frog in my backyard, with all of our rain there must have been a puddle somewhere. It’s a peaceful sound. Now that the heat was turned on the frog is gone
