- The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is continuing its investigation into a group of boaters seen dumping trash - then gleefully celebrating what they did - in the waters off South Florida over the weekend. The incident was captured on video taken by social media content creator Wavy Boats.
Chris and Lisa Ruth are the parents. They own a company called FirstLight Home Care. The trash dumper is Michael Kirby a Junior at Boca Raton H.S.

I grew up in NPB California, this is atrocious! I was one who was confused as to why they would do this. Makes more sense they were more worried about themselves, cos F the ocean right?!? So gross! Growing up in a tiny beach town in one of the richest cities in the US we were raised and taught in school at very young ages to respect the ocean and our beaches, with as much pride as being an American. Kids do dumb s*** we've all been there, but this is beyond a big middle finger to the ocean, the planet, and to all of its inhabitants. This is what large black trash bags are for, conceal and dump it in a TRASH can on the docks, major idiots! Now everyone in the world knows you were underage drinking and smoking weed. Nobody is wearing N95 masks with a hazmat suit either. Why would they need to be wearing life jackets? You don’t get out much do you?
Life jackets are only required to be on the boat. You don't have to wear them unless you're under a certain age. I believe its 12 years old? Can't recall.

@@mikepaukstis9892 I live on lake Huron so I can't necessarily speak for Florida, but on the great lakes, you just need one life jacket on board for every person, and a throwable (like a flotation seat cusion). Among other things, like a horn, flare, and fire extinguisher.
Parents need to take away his big boat privileges until he becomes a big boy. As minors They didn’t want to get busted for most of the stuff in those garbage cans. Buy him 17’ Whaler. Safe boat even for that inlet.
