And for my own thoughts, is that would it be possible to use an EGPU running through that "dock".
No HP docks work with other brands, this is quite known actually. But this video is shite thats a fact aswell
Hi, thanks for the review, I ended up buying the dock. I'm using it with an lg 27ul500 monitor connected with a displayport cable through the dock port. The issue is that I'm unable to get 60Hz with any resolution, just 30Hz. Did you come up with a similar issue? How did you solve it? Thanks in advance!

Hey Kevin, I am having a hard time charging an HP Envy x360 15T. I have bought two separate port replicators but my laptop won't charge via the USB C. I didn't know if somehow it could be a setting issue with my laptop or if it has something to do with the security port?

Hi! Great video. But one question: if i connect my omen hp laptop (with rtx 4060) to the usbc tunderbolt and the docking sation to 3 monitor, is the control direct from nvidia rtx 4060 direct?

Question, I purchased a refurbished thunderbolt dock, when I plug the AC adapter into the unit, the small LED light does not turn on. Does yours turn on as soon as you plug it in? Or do you have to also plug it into the computer to get the light to turn on? I am trying to troubleshoot if it is my computer or the dock with the problem...

I almost wanted to throw mine out of the window how much it pissed me off once.
It's 2024 and this is almost impossible to find now. I purchased one on Amazon for my work laptop and it ended up being a refurbished model that is damaged. (The audio doesn't work). Now I'm trying to buy one off eBay but I'm scared it will be the same thing. I wish there was some place where I could buy it new knowing that I was getting a new one. I really need this for my work computer. =(

Possibly but not likely anytime soon for your average consumer model. My guess is we will first see it in the mega expensive TV models (the $10k+ models). I have a feeling we will see them in the next 5-6 years. As of now there are no major benefits for USB-C ports in a TV. But as more and more devices switch to the USB-C standard they will have to eventually make the switch. That is why I would put a 5-6 year time line on it. It might take a few more years but I would not expect to wait over 10 years for USB-C. In general Tvs are fairly slow to update their ports.

I have a HP Zbook for work and a HP Omen for personal use and I can confirm you that the G2 works perfectly on both. I use that nifty HP combo cable. Dual display , everything is perfect.

my experience with this product is that it's two display ports on the back only mirror a single image to two monitors and doesn't allow for two separate displays using these ports.

You sure your not confusing usb C with thunderbolt 3 cable? Because a dock using USB c and works with macs thunderbolt 3 then sign me up
Hey my dude, I can answer this - I have a few of these at work. It specifically requires the USB-C port to be Thunderbolt capable, otherwise it just shares power and one of the display outputs.

daviddaaannggg - I have hdmi monitors as well. Just buy the display port to hdmi cables or adapter for your existing hdmi cables. They are relatively cheap.
I really hope you realize how much misinformation you're spreading by saying this works fully with any USB-C device. This is a Thunderbolt 3 dock, not a USB-C dock. Those are wildly different things and this video is bound to mislead people.
Absolutely! Only select few mid - high tier laptops have thunderbolt ports. Most laptops connecting via type c will barely be able to get a charge out of this yet alone powering two monitors. Just another RUclipsr who looks at other videos for inspiration rather than researching.
@@jaypraxxz7375 While it's not entirely accurate to suggest that it works **fully** with **any** USB-C device, it's really not too far from the truth. If your device supports USB PD, USB 3.1, DisplayPort alt-mode (preferably with MST support) but not Thunderbolt 3, this dock will still work.
Of course, there are some caveats -- like max 1440p to two displays, and the Thunderbolt 3 daisy chaining port being limited to USB 2 speeds, but everything will work well for the most part. In fact, even if you connect it to a host with only PD support, you'll be able to get up to the full 100W out of it -- not "barely [...] a charge".
(If you're interested, I believe it has 5/9/12/15/20V PD power profiles.)
But anyway, the above is true of almost all Thunderbolt 3 docks with a Titan Ridge TB3 controller. I say "almost all" because, y'know, there's always a chance of there being an outlier, but non-TB3 host backward compatibility is one of the major selling points of any Titan Ridge dock.
This dock support non-Thunderbolt3 but with type-c DP output notebook，it works great！

You obviously don't know much about tech? How can you say that a type c port and thunderbolt port are the same thing..u given some real bad information here people are going to buy this and think they can make a external GPU and just plug it through this into a type c port which will never work!!!
The audio on this is truly terrible and not really different to laptop speakers. My cheap webcam's microphone picks up audio better.

These display thunderbolt plugs are useless. Trying to monopolies, I hate it. Not worth the expensive base cost. Its another additional cost to utilise. Why cant they just have HDMI slots.... 👎👎
