    Lovely demo, thanks so much. Jason from Production Voices makes wonderful sampled instruments. He actually linked to this video as a demo in an email he sent his customers. Subscribed, keep up the great work.

      Jay, I just received that email, vey nice of Jason to do that. I loaded up his Concert Grand LE and can’t wait to explore it as well seeing it is based on a Steinway, it should be very interesting. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.

    I'm inspired by your talent! How and when did you learn to play? I already have a lot of virtual pianos but this sounds wonderful! I get a smile every time I watch one of your videos. Keep up the good work, brother!

      Steven, I am so glad you enjoy watching, that really blesses me and confirms my desire to keep things coming. I started playing in church when I was around five years old. I have always felt the call of God on my life and have been very fortunate to have travelled throughout the world in music ministry. The past twenty years I have served as accompanist for Larnelle Harris. Thanks again for watching and let me know if there is anything I can assist you with or videos you would like to see?

    I legitimately got chills when you played the perspective mic! Bone chilling detail of the hammers hitting the strings. I have the Pearl Concert Grand and I love it but there's just some missing definition in the hammer to string response. Thank you for this incredible library review!

      Thanks for your comment, I’ve been trying to decide between this one and the pearl concert grand actually haha

    I was about to ask you to review this library, so I'm glad you did! I've had the Production 2 Gold for a few years, so the sound is familiar. Love it how you go through each microphone by itself. I've always thought you need to have four or five mic perspectives to get a cool sound, but you've shown me just one perspective sounds wonderful. Of the combinations I've tried though, I very much like any of the first five perspectives, along with a room mic, or even both room mics.

      Yes, the Ribbon Room mics I think are my favorite with as you mentioned, a little hammer to get that attack. I just loaded up the Concert Grand and will be taking a look at that soon. I am really curious about the 3D Ambisonic mics 😳 Thanks so much for watching and so glad you enjoyed the video.

    • @theodorn

      I think I like the other room mics more, they have a wider stereo image somehow, which is more to my taste. The ribbon ones are more direct, which can be fitting in some cases. I have the Concert Grand LE, so look forward to your walkthrough. Funny thing, I haven't even turned on the 3D Ambisonic mics, but they're a nice bonus.

      I just fired up the Concert LE and it is very beautiful. Can’t wait to share. I am also reading up on the Ambisonic option, I played with it a little and it is a very interesting feature.

    I would really love to hear a side by side comparison between the gold and LE version…I have scoured the web and so far am not able to find a direct comparison (same played content) anywhere at all…yes I know it’s a difference between 24 bit and 16 bit and I have heard about how it in theory shouldn’t be noticeable within a 96 dB dynamic range but still it would be nice to be able to hear and decide for myself

    Unpopular opinion: production voices has done a better job with pianos than vsl, their pianos are more natural and all of their mics are usable

      I wouldn’t say unpopular just so many have not yet discovered the great work Jason has been doing over the years. He is very passionate about his instruments. Thanks so much for watching and the supportive feedback.

    Quick question. What does the Modern Marvel preset have? I am blind, so I'm kinda curious. I'm guessing it has some of the modern room mics (AKC-C414), maybe the modern inside or hammer mics? I am not completely sure. I always like your Production Voices reviews, but I noticed you didn't cover all the presets, which is why I'm asking.

    • @PraiseTracks
      @PraiseTracks  10 месяцев назад +1

      Modern Marvel has three of the mics active: The Hammer, Inside Mic 1, and Room 1. The Hammer mic is a B&K 4006 Pencil, I am not sure exactly which one is the Inside 1 mic but it is either a Neuman U87 or Rode NT2A, and finally the Room 1 mic could be a Coles 4038 or AKG 414. I would say if it is more of an upfront bite then I would say it has to be the 414, and you know how much I love the velvet tone quality of the Coles.
      I hope that helps. Joyfully yours!

    • @DJIncendration
      @DJIncendration 10 месяцев назад

      @@PraiseTracks Thank you, that helps! With a name like Modern Marvel, I would guess that the inside is probably the NT2A, and the room is most likely the AKG-C414.

    Hey Simon, really enjoying your videos. The best part for me is that you play a wide variety of styles so more of us can hear our music in your demo playing. Thank you!
    I have a tech question and perhaps you can give me a yes or no answer. My laptop is a Lenovo Vantage running an i7 9750 cpu @2.6 ghz. It has 16 gig of ram. It only has a terabyte HD and I can't figure out if that is enough to run kontact komplete as the collectors edition is at least 5 tb and external ssd drives max out at 2tb right now. I am lost as to how people run the plugins you demo? If you can't answer zi still really like everything about your channel which I found last week.

      Yikes Simeon! Sorry for the name typo.

    • @PraiseTracks
      @PraiseTracks  4 года назад

      No worries.
      I just have a boatload of internal SSD drives! One thing that might work for you is to use a fast USB 3 external SSD. I have Spitfire's BBCSO Pro running on one of their external SSD drives connected to my USB 3 and it seems to hold up. I would say internal dries are always the best as they get the most attention from the BUS so I would try adding possibly a 2tb internal SSD if you can in that machine. Otherwise you can try the external SSD drives and see how that works for you.
      As far as system RAM 16gb is OK but more is always better when talking about these libraries. One thing to consider is streamlining your Windows installation so that it is not loading up a bunch of stuff into memory, causing a possible bottle neck there.

    Hello Simeon. I appreciate your videos very much! Could you do a video on Sampletekk’s TVBO (includes TBO and the c7), please? They are having a big sale right now and I’m thinking of getting the TVBO. Thanks! (Unnecessary, but as a bonus, I’m curious if their lighter versions with fewer velocity layers have much difference in feel from the standard versions.)

    Hey Simon what is your favorit piano plug in ?

    • @PraiseTracks
      @PraiseTracks  4 года назад

      Well, that is a question that is still yet to be answered. I have some favorites as there truly is not ONE piano to rule them all at this time, each one has a unique character and ideal application depending on the arrangement you are working on. Different pianos also pull on different emotional tones as well that can take you in to the right place. Thanks for watching and continue to follow my journey as we continue to search the wondrous universe of piano libraries.

      This also gives me an idea of doing a separate "non-talking" video of playing through some of the presets and such. Thanks again for the understanding and support.

      @@PraiseTracksI think that’s a great idea…once you do a live review like this to familiarize yourself with the main functionalities, you can go record a separate one going through them…and if something isn’t clear/we are curious about your thoughts we can reference this video
