- Here we take a look at the Molle sheath and pouch attachment for the
ESEE 5. The standard mould injected sheath can be replaced with this polymer sheath and molle attachment.
In this i show you my mini ESEE Survival kit and everything else i carry on the sheath and pouch.
This is one of the best survival knives setup on the market.
You can make them however you want and to your needs.
This practical ESEE 5 sheath with MOLLE-back and pouch set turns wearing an ESEE 5 knife into a wonderful experience. This sheath is made from very sturdy nylon which can withstand any type of weather, and can definitely handle its own.
This sheath is incredibly versatile. You can easily attach the sheath to a bag or MOLLE vest with the MOLLE back. The sheath can also easily be carried on a belt by using the belt loop. The loop has a max belt width of 6 cm. At the front of the sheath you will find an ESEE accessory pouch filled with a tin can with an ESEE logo on top. Perfect to store small items. Think, for instance, of a firesteel, a couple of plasters or some fishing wire with hooks.
Once in the sheath you can lock the knife with the loop that is located above the sheath. It is enhanced with a solid press stud. As such the knife won't fall from the sheath as you carry it. The MOLLE-back hinges in the middle which makes carrying it a little more comfortable.
mine consists of : ESEE mini survival kit/ mylar blanket/ cylume emergency signal/ferrorod and firestrip roll.
Minimum kit for what i need.

I went with the Esee 6 due to little things like the finger choil but I saw that the sheath and pouch works with the 6 too and got curious what could be done with them. I'll definitely have to keep a magnesium fire starter and a few other tinder bits and such in the pouch and find a way to keep a sharpener with it.

Any updates on the E5? kit changes, blade problems? etc.
No updates as of yet, they changes the scales to 3d printed as an option but no plans to change blade steel because of the size and thickness they are happy to keep as is. All kit changes and new designs were generally put on hold and again they have no plan to change a gios quality lifetime guranteed knife that is tested rigourusly in the field. If I find any info out I will post it 👍
That's a nice setup, Del. I'm curious, do you like those g10 scales better than the micarta? My esee 5 has the standard squared-off micarta, and I'm considering getting some g10 because they look like they have nice contour to them.

My E6 and Laser strike still have the Micarta maybe change them out eventually.
ESEE have introduced new 3D scales now too, so need to watch the reviews on those

Where did you get your molle back from? I have been trying to get one (with the button and swivel) like yours for ages but the only ones I can find have the metal buckle which I don't like.
