What made Tron 2 so special was the introduction of tricking and stunts, along with the cast. Evan Peters is an amazing actor but I’m not sure how they can continue this storyline in a new and interesting way?

Sam is also required along with 01 character (i think that's what they where called - the ones that where purged) - the second movie when it was announced I was really excited for but when it came out i felt a little let down.. But i still loved it... This is their chance to make up for the past.. This can be a MAJOR film if done properly.. Make it 3 hrs long but make it good...
I have an unpopular opinion on the second movie. It shouldn't have happened. Back then, the thought of an AI becoming aware and trying to enslave humanity was all the rage. You had Wargames, Terminator, and Tron. The Master Control Program was the bad guy and Tron was the hero designed to shut down rogue program. Jeff/Flynn helped Tron do just that in the movie as more of sidekick than heroic lead. With the advent of extremely powerful computers, I would image Tron might need more than just a disc to shutdown rogue programs today. To see that happen on the grid and then see the effects in the real world would be the way to go in my opinion. The exploration of life and being alive should take a seat in this next outing. We got that in the second movie and others, like the Matrix and Ex Machina, do that deep dive better.

Much like Star Wars and Star Trek, we saw echoes of Tron's neon circuit-breaker designs pop up everywhere from clothing design to architecture to vehicle design and even invading the gaming culture. Importantly, our fears of AI becoming more and more depended on, of actually becoming our masters instead of our machine helpers is the dark foundation of Tron and, in that way is much like the Terminator and Matrix franchises. So, we apparently have the Tron world invading the Real World in Tron:Ares. In that way it is more like H.G. Wells "The War of the Worlds". It was only a microbial Deus Ex Machina that saved us in "The War of the Worlds". In this next Tron, it is my hope that a human genius, like Jeff Bridges character, Kevin Flynn, will rise victorious instead of turning the plot into an unemotional Transformers meaningless mayhem. As with most great stories, the travails of the hero eventually lead him to greater understanding, maturity and a better version of himself. And, oddly enough, one of our greatest attributes (and weapons?) as beings is that we can laugh at the absurd. Could that be the downfall of this new Tron menace, that he can't take a joke? I am hopeful.

As of May 2, 2024 Sam and Quorra aren't in Tron 3. Which for me is a total game killer. I would have loved to see what those two did in the real world but I'm not interested in picking up new characters.

I love the Tron universe. But why is no one mentioning the son of the original villain who they showed in the board room in Tron Legacy. The original villain in the first Tron movie had a son. I hope they get his son involved in Tron 3. And of course Tron himself needs to be involved too.

This is a case of Hollywood milking a franchise and killing it. Remember all those awful Jaws movies? What about all those increasingly dire Rambo. Movies? Tron needs to be left alone. The same fond movie was a exercise in style over substance and the third movie if Hollywood track record is anything to go by will be garbage.
If they are going to make it a “woke” movie. It would’ve been better for them not to make a third one - but if it’s a good movie, I will be glad that they made it.

A Daft Punk Reunion? I feel like they need to bring them back for the soundtrack. It was so good and completely set the tone for the movie.
