- How I diagnosed & repaired this 5 ton Heat Pump. It was a difficult day figuring out the cause of this no cooling problem. The compressor and condenser fan would not run. The fan in the air handler was working fine. I made a mistake while checking components of this HVAC sytem that is included in this How to video in hopes that it will help you avoid the same repair diagnoses mistake. Near the end of the video I figured out what was causing the problem and fixed the Heat & Air unit. I share what I learned & relearned during this fix. Being able to fix these problems helps me keep my Real Estate investing profitable. It also saves a lot of time because I fixed this faster than waiting a week for an over worked busy HVAC repairman to show up.

I had same issue and went right to checking out the capacitor before checking the contactor. The capacitor was out of range and once replaced all was good. You pointed this out towards the end of your video. It's a shame that my service company did not regularly check the capacitor as part of service calls. I got lucky and I thank you sir for sharing your expertise. The video problem was like finding a moth inside one of the original computers in the 1940's/50's that interfered with a relay and that's why they call fixing computers debugging.
Ive not had to fix one because of a moth yet but Ive had to fix plenty of things because of big wasp nests built inside. Luckily most of the nests were abandoned when I got to it. Next thing I open with a nest Ill think of you and "Debugging".
