When the pigments are in flakes, the particles are stuck together, leaving little to no space among them. When crushed, there is space between each small pigment dust. So, even though it seems like space between flakes is diminished after crushing, the total space among the pigment dust actually increases :) Edit: if you slightly tap the bottom of the container or tap it on the table, the pigment dust will sit denser and most likely you can still fit the whole thing in the tube! The crushing of the pigment and the smooooooooth paint spreading around that glass pane just makes me feel so satisfied!!!It doesn’t stick the the glass pane that much and goes darker and darker that is sooooooo cool!

I absolutely adore these videos. The sound of the grinding in particular is excellent- I'm always saddened by how short the relative grinding time is. Is there any way you would consider releasing a "mega-edit" of nothing but the grinding portion, uncut or only very lightly edited? It'd make its way onto my favorites list in a heartbeat, so many happy tingles!
@@raenandlal5893 RUclips regularly changes ad rules at a whim, and sometimes overrule the channel settings, from what I've heard. If a channel usually has a non-abrasive amount of ads (like this one) and all of a sudden there's an insane amount in one video, it's usually a rotten RUclips thing ime, and not the channel's fault.

This video is incredible and amazing. I cannot emphasize how much I love this video. I REALLY appreciate how you showed step by step making the pigments, getting them ready, and making the paint. Especially for watercolor paint because there's a couple more steps to making watercolor paint than with oil paint. Oil paint is literally just a plant based drying oil and the pigment and there you go! I really appreciated how you showed the use of honey, Gum Arabic as the binding agent, and the water as well as the natural preservative. And I REALLY loved the paint afterwards. It didn't feel like a speedpaint. I felt like I got to actually enjoy every single step of your painting process and the painting after was so beautiful. What a rewarding video every step of the way. Good job!

It's called color theory. Also you see it done in marketing, the uses of color as a tool to capture the outcome they are going for their intended audience/consumers. Like red and yellow in fastfood places these colors may make ppl hungry or impulsive, and blue and green for health brands and make the brand seem calm or soft.
