Life is busy...Love the conversations. So funny. Love watching you. Love the Pink, Sophia. Beautiful sweater Julie. We were renovating our house and had to move away to a small flat. The amount of time saved cleaning the tiny flat meant I could knit more. Back to the house and I'm not going to get enough time to craft. Looking forward to seeing Whtmore and storm Elissa. Laurie you are just going through a phase you will come back with a lot next time.
Hi ladies, I’m only a few minutes in but I just want to encourage each of you. Like Mr Rogers says, “I like you just the way you are”. Your apologetic, awkward first minutes had me smiling in total understanding and support. I’m old and have lots of time to knit but I remember those busy days. Your conversation is a bright spot in my day. If I were going to reinbeck I’d go to you first!
II am looking forward to meeting you ladies on Oct 14th! Bought my ticket to Wool & Folk. This will be my first Rheinbeck experience. Coming from Canada! For those that lost their knitting mojo hope you find it soon but always a pleasure to watch your podcast!
Loved your show! You’ll always be my favorite coffee time girls, I’m alone now with lots of time. The gray hair subject was a hoot. I’m almost 80 now but went thru the early stage trying to color it, once you let it go natural it’s really better. Grandma Sally from WI.
loved your podcast, even if we all love knitting there is also life and listening to you I find that it's like spending time with my friends and talking about everything and anything. I was knitting and started to hum hum at your conversation about white hair.... don't change, love your podcast style, keep it natural....
Hi gals! Of course we watch, it’s like a sit and knit/crochet with friends! I loved the earrings and chat. What about doing hats, or head/hair bands, or gloves or fingerless mitts? Or bags or shawlette? Smaller projects. There are so many different types of vests, they really are a versatile wearable! They can be sleeveless cardigan style or pullover, cropped or not, shaped arm scythes or drop shoulder. You all looked lovely and fresh!
I’m so glad you were invited as podcasters to Wool & Folk because it is already helping you get your knitting mojo back. And, FYI, you are my favorite podcasters out of all of those who are coming ❤️. A friend and I went to W&F last year and loved it. I know you will too! Laurie-you will love not having to color your hair so often and I know you will look great. Elissa-can you remember the name of the store in Newport where you bought your earrings? They’re so pretty. Julie- I just borrowed These Precious Days. I need to get back into reading and think this book will be perfect-thanks! And Sophia-gorgeous cardigan. I really enjoy O-Wool Balance too. Good to have you ladies back!! 😊 So glad to have you back.
So good to see all of you…😄. I have my ticket for Wool and Folk and hope to see you there! I met you at Rhinebeck 2019 and have loved following your podcasts…take care 🧶💗
I’m heading to Rhinebeck from Australia (via a few weeks in Europe) and I can’t wait to see you all at Wool & Folk! I’ve been watching and admiring your friendship from afar for years 💜 currently knitting my Rhinebeck sweater and watching you all xx
So glad I decided to embrace the silver. I began going grey in my early 20s and now, 20 years later, my hair is "blonder" than ever! And, oh, how I wish I was going to Rhinebeck to hang out with you all at Wool and Folk. How magical that would be. One day, perhaps....
I was so excited to see a new podcast. The sweaters are gorgeous. Sophia, I can’t wait to see the pink one finished. As for grey hair, I started growing out my dark color 3 months ago. I was coloring every 2-weeks, and I decided to stop. I’m working with my stylist to blend the grow out. I also wear wide fabric headbands daily. I basically ignore the grow out.
Fun to watch you all - thank you for sharing your time! I just bought tix to wool and folk - will look for the Vest ladies 😀! My first time planning to attend rhinebeck - I’m coming from Kansas and 2 of my 4 daughters (they all knit too) are also attending. We are knitting matching color work yoke sweaters (same pattern but all different colors)- winterwoods by the petite knitter. Elissa - one of my daughters is going to be a senior this next year at Purdue studying UX design - I was excited when I heard you mention in previous episodes that’s your pursuit/ job now too! She is interning this summer using her degree and enjoys it! Thanks for the book recs - I listened to the Dutch House this past winter while traveling. It was sooo good might try this other Ann Patchett book now. I can relate to mojo ups and downs. My problem is staying focused. Take care - always look forward to your posts. I Enjoy your camaraderie for sure! ❤️
So great to see all of your beautiful faces again. Congrats on your Wool & Folk gig! Your knitting mojos will return when they are ready. Be gentle with yourselves! I, too do not see myself as a vest wearer but am drawn to Joji Locatelli's Licorice vest - aran yarn, large needles, no sleeve island. What is there not to love?! You all inspired me to cast it on xox
I'm late on this but several podcast ago Sophia mentioned the Amope Pedi Purfect or something similar. She didn't like the pieces of shedding skin flying around, I am the same. Now she should try The Pedi Vac, its rechargeable, has 2 settings and best of all sucks up the dead skin...no more flying skin in the air. Also luv u ladies
I was so excited to see your podcast today! You girls have so many things to share and I always get so much enjoyment when I watch! Hang in there, mojo comes and goes sometimes, it will come back!
Hi ladies, I am glad to see you again.. it was like hanging out with my friends, you made me laugh and smile. Podcasts that are life talk are the best. I wish I would go to Wool and Folk but I have nobody to go with. I loved Julie and Sophia’s sweaters. It was fun😊
So glad to see you all! Our desire to knit sure has it’s ups & downs, right? Don’t beat yourselves up, the excitement to knit will return 🙂 The Overstory was the best book I read last year, and bought copies to share it was so good! I just finished Less by Andrew Greer, which has gone to the top of my favorites list. Also, Thrive Causemetics mascara is the only one I’ll use now, for exactly your same reasons. And, I’m 66: I stopped coloring my hair and went fully gray at 55: best decision. I wanted to feel more like my authentic self, and also spend the $$ and time on my knitting!
Always happy to see your podcast. I feel like I am sitting with my girlfriends. Very sad that I have decided not to go to Rhinebeck this year and won't see you. Trying very hard not to purchase yarn as my stash is insane. Sophia, your sweater is looking gorgeous. Those are "sheafs" of wheat - grew up in the Midwest. I have had the same indecision of what to knit so I am trying to finish "stuff" that is on my needles. Awesome podcast from four awesome ladies.
Love your podcast! I'm catching up on them and wondered if Elissa has the pattern name for a hat she showed back in Episode 22. She didn't have the details for it then. I'd love to make this one for myself! It was the mauvy taupe one and she showed it off with Julie's purple pompom. Thanks for keeping the knitting journey real. I love this!!!
I’m so sorry Cathy! I think it was a free pattern and It doesn’t look like it’s in my library on Ravelry. But I’m also not sure I even found it on Ravelry. 😖
Enjoyed your podcast, always so inspiring from knitting, yarn and books! Your book recommendation today was so interesting, ordered them already! Thank you and keep on knitting and reading! Looking forward to the next one!
@@sophiashaikh2168 On page 159 of Cloud Cuckoo Land and enjoying the read! Love how the characters are developed and coming together through history, from the past to the future. Novels that have facts from the past always interest me. It stimulates the brain and makes me want to know more about the facts.
Thank you for the chat! I loved listening to you ladies while I’m knitting. It was nice to laugh with you! Funny story about my grey hair, I have a dark stripe on the top of my head and the sides are turning grey. I tell people I wear my tinsel all year - not just at Christmas time!
Love visiting with y'all, even when there isn't a ton of knitting content. I'm surrounded by retirees where I live, work, and volunteer, so some days watching your podcast is my only contact with people my own age. 🤣 I wanted speak up in favor of salt and pepper hair. I never wanted to be like my mom - dying my hair brown long after it was reasonable - so I never dyed my hair when it started graying. You wouldn't belive how many people (including hairdressers) comment on it. I think it's because people rarely see it? Of course every woman should do what makes them feel good, feel gorgeous, but don't be so quick to avoid salt and pepper. As for knitting, the lack of mojo seems to be universal. So many of my former knitting buddies have not picked up sticks in months. I'm struggling to finish projects. I'm actually looking at my stash and thinking about making another Soldotna or a Ranunculus since those were past quick wins during slumps. I also thought about buying some yarn and knitting up a Hipster for my aunt (who has been begging for something for years) - I think that shawl is a quick win, too? All I know is I do a lot of casting on and very little casting off this year...
Okay I'm pausing 24 minutes in to tell you.... A. even though you think you're not productive right now, I'm STILL super inspired by what you are working on or what you have planned for future knitting! B. I just booked an airstream for friday oct 14 so I can come hug all ya'all at wool & Folk. so I will see you there!!!!
Loved "The Overstory!" I, too, am an Ann Patchett fan. I loved "Commonwealth" the most I think. I too struggle with whether or not to keep coloring my hair.. mine is definitely not beautiful like Julie's...it is more like a dark wiry grey and I was grey pretty early... I'm 51 now so feel like I wouldn't mind as much being grey as I did when I was 27. It will take so long to grow out though! I wish I had done it during the early pandemic times. I've already bought my ticket to Wool and Folk!
I'm also at the point where I've decided to let the gray come into my curly locks and see what happens. You can always change your mind and color it again. But I'm getting a trim this weekend, so we'll what it looks like. The ends are still holding some of the color so there's an odd mix going on. And my almost 25 year old daughter has grayed her hair and added splashes of purple. So gray is changing.
I love your videos. I wonder, though, if it would help when you hold things up to the camera, if you had a piece of paper or card stock to put behind it, would that help you get things in focus? Have fun at Reinbeck!!!
Hello, great to see the new episode. I enjoy see the progress and new yarn. The books always go into my library queue. Please share the name of the green book with the blue object on it. I’m curious. Thank you.
Hi ladies! So excited for a new podcast❤️! Elissa love the hair band. Are you guys in goodreads? Would love to follow you 🤗. I don’t know if you have a book for your trip Laurie but I travelled a few months ago and I read Oona out of order and really liked it! Light but interesting 👍🏽.
Hello! I’m on Goodreads. Although I just joined so I don’t have a lot of books or reviews on books I’ve read. Thanks for the book suggestion, gonna check it out!
I really enjoyed this podcast. It’s almost as if I was in your circle of friends and we were all sitting around and gabbing about this or that.

Knit new haven definitely! I’m sorry if I’m too late in replying. I hope your visit was lovely.
Always fun to see you even with less knitting 😊For a cute tunic-like vest, have you seen Aimee Sher's Transition Slipover, it's on Rav. Take care!
Thanks for the vest suggestion, just added it to my queue. I actually have decided to do Petiteknit’s Stockholm slipover v-neck.
If you can't knit just crochet! I have several cast ons and I knit a bit on a couple a day.
