Patricia Ndoci thanks so much! feel free to ask me any questions you might have along the way. also, I’d love to hear updates about the university you choose :)
Hey! Thank you sooo much for posting this. It’s such an informative video and makes me less stressed. Do you remember when you submitted ur supp app to rotman ? Did you apply for early admission?

I am planning to apply to Rotman and Ivey. However, I am very nervous about the interview part since when I tried to practice, my mind just goes blank as soon as I start talking. Therefore, do you have any tips on the interview? I love your video btw, it is very informative and helps to make me feel less stressed about the whole thing.
Elizabeth Belle hi!! Happy to hear that I could be of help. Rotman is the only one that required me to do an interview. As for practice, I was involved with DECA for many years and that really helped me. For you, I would suggest folding a piece of paper into quarters and writing your point form answers for each question in one quarter of the paper. This ensures that you’re being concise in your answers. From there, smile and be confident. Fake it till’ you make it ... always!
Hi Wynette! I love your videos so much as they're so helpful to watch! My Waterloo's AFM interview deadline is getting closer and I was wondering if you remember what questions you were asked during the 78 Questions "Trait Assessment"? I'm scared for it because I feel unprepared since they don't give you similar questions beforehand. I know that you're a Mac student, but in case you do remember what was asked during the AFM supp app process please lmk! Thank you so much !

Hi there! Thank you so much for your help, srsly idk what I would've done without your videos. Do you have any interview tips like: should we be smiling all the time or look professional and like suppose if we finished talking for the timed response but still have the timer going on, do you think we should end the interview earlier or should we just continue saying something to take up the whole time. Btw this is about Schulich lol :)
Thank you!! Smile lots and be confident. Answer to the best of your ability and stop the timer. Don't go on and on if your answer is concise and gets the job done.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your channel!! I just was wondering for the Queen's app where to find the PSE section because originally I thought only the supplementary essays were required for commerce?
Hi Christina. Sorry it's been awhile since I've been in application stage. Maybe things have changed. I suggest you speak to someone in admissions. Sorry that I can't give a better answer.
This was really helpful! Thank you! I was wondering, was there no section at all where Rotman asked you to list your extracurriculars/volunteer work/job experience/awards? I thought they really looked into your ECs and awards but I was surprised when you explained the process cause it seemed way more simple than I thought it would be. I wanna get into rotman and I have one major EC and several minor ones including volunteer work. Do you think it would be enough for Rotman? (Sorry if this was too long) thanks♡
Léa Kim hi Lea! I was also very surprised when they didn’t ask for a list of my ECs. It was just an interview process. That being said, the interview questions may ask you to describe a challenge you faced, etc. Of course you can answer these questions by pulling from your EC experiences. Because Rotman adopts a marks based process, I believe anyone with high 80s and low 90s with good communication skills should have a nice shot of getting in. As for your situation, I think you have more than enough ECs for Rotman as many other applicants do not need any. Best of luck in your application process. And don’t hesitate to ask me any more questions. :)
hey! do you know around what time of year the supplementary apps are open? and about when they are due? and where can i find it? (i'm applying to uoft) thank you!!
I find this vid very informative and also you're so kind for putting the link of the dropbox! I was wondering if it'd be a problem at all if you do not do any extracurricular activities outside school at all but have good grades. I'm the type of person to spend all of my time on school work to receive good grades but because of that I have no time to do anything else, though I still have one year of high school left. Would that be bad for applications to these schools? (I'm currently interested in Ivey, McMaster, Waterloo)
jenny nhinguyen it’s gonna be tough to break into ivey because they require you to write 3 large essays about your ec’s. If you don’t have any, you will have a hard time writing. Waterloo also has a supp app that might be difficult to write about if you have nothing. Mac doesn’t have a supp app as of now. I would really encourage you to do more above school. Not just for applications but because there’s a lot more than school than just grades.
Thanks so muvh for your sharing. I have a question. When you do the first two essays in rotman application. The whole process of your essay writing, is it recorded? Or just turn the camera on for the last video question. Thank you

@@mrno4808That’s amazing! Is there any way I could ask you a few questions, as I’m currently worried(gr.11 rn). Any feedback would be really appreciated.
hellooo I am very confused about the deadlines for UfT. It says that the recommended deadline " to apply " is Nov. 7th. Would I have to write the supplementary application by then? However, there is another recommended deadline saying December 15th!! Which one is it I am confused please help
j h I just checked the website and it is very confusing. I do see why you’d be confused. Are you a 101 or 105 applicant? Because I was a 101 applicant and I submitted my supp app by dec 12. However, I suggest you call the rotman commerce admissions office to clear things up.
Also I just looked at one of your supplimentary essays in the Dropbox, and I was surprised that you became DECA president for 2018-2019. Did you make it to provincials and ICDC?
Kar Cho I started DECA in grade 10. I made it to the provincials all three years. However, I never made it to ICDC. I really admire those who did. Seemed like so much fun!
Hey! I saw you said that if you have 80-90 marks you have a good chance to get in but are you talking about your junior and senior year, or all high school? Also I didn’t take calc which I heard was very important for Rotman, so do u think I’d be better off applying to social science instead to increase my chance to get in?
Lakshay G I had 80s and 90s throughout high school. But I was specifically talking about senior year. You need to take talk calc for rotman. You should try and take it next semester. From what I understand, you need pretty good grades in social science to transfer to commerce. You also need to take all the commerce courses (which includes math).
Hey Wynette I know it’s been a while since you uploaded this video, but I was just wondering why you chose to go to McMaster since you also got into more “prestigious” universities like Ivey and Schulich.
Hi! I am going to be applying this upcoming year and I had a question. Does taking grade 12 English in summer school compromise my chances of being accepted into any of the business schools?
Once you submited the programs and paid on OUAC, did the universities email you next steps for the supp apps and such? Or did you have to directly go to their site and do it yourself?
Dylan James Chang I can’t remember if all of them emailed me. I think most of them did. But I found all the supp apps and deadlines myself. I completed them over the Christmas break. I wouldn’t rely on the emails honestly.
@@itswynette yep you talked about afm in the video! but i was wondering if you have any tips about the afm admissions assessment where you have to do the live interview? thanks!
Gabriela Tam oh ok. It’s been awhile, so my memory is a little cloudy. My biggest tip is to practice a lot. I’m pretty sure they give you practice rounds which you can do as much as you like before the real assessment. Take advantage of those and get real confident and comfortable. Make sure to smile!
Is it possible to have advanced functions and calculus in the same semester? I'm going to grade 12 in September and plus advanced functions is a corequisite, meaning I can take advanced functions and calculus in the same semester?
Kar Cho hm. From what I understand is that Advanced functions is a pre requisite for Calculus. At least at my school, you must complete adv functions before moving onto calc.
Also I'm also applying to business, I kinda do have some EC, like I'm in the deca team for next year, I was part of Arts Council at my school last year, I was part of grade 9 concert band, and I have volunteered at my elementary school in grade 9 but I don't have a part time job yet, what should I do?
Kar Cho Oh okay! Personally, I would not recommend taking both at the same time. I found the material tough and work load heavy. Even though I had spares in both semesters, I was constantly doing adv functions / calc homework. Obviously, your math ability may be different than mine. That’s just my piece of advice but take it with a grain of salt.
Hi! I’m looking into applying to Western for business and eventually joining Ivey but I’m confused about what you do in the first two years as a business student. What programme did you apply for?
It’s crazy how I made it to loo with well below average marks, taking one night school course and one private school course but 🤷♂️🤷♂️ How was the AFMAA?
Lawrence L that’s really good to know! Congrats! What program are you in? I totally forgot about the AFMAA. I thought I didn’t do so well on the interview, but I guess I did okay. I did Waterloo’s AFMAA after I did all the interviews for the other schools. Maybe I was a little more comfortable with the format by then?
@@itswynettethanks I'm in afm. I didn't do well on the AIF (I wrote very short paragraphs) because I thought I my marks weren't gonna cut it but, I'll take it. My second option was Mac business but I rlly wanted to do either accounting or finance lol
Kar Cho I’m just going to type it on here because it is easier. Monday: Organizational Behaviour Accounting Tuesday: Organizational Behaviour Accounting Stats Social Psychology Wednesday: Microeconomics Social Psychology (tutorial) Thursday: Organizational Behaviour Stats Friday: Stats (tutorial) Stats Social Psychology *Social Psychology is an elective
Thank you so much for this video! It was really helpful and informative. Do you have any tips on how to do well in functions and math in general? I found grade 11 to be a huge shock and that I am absolutely clueless and struggling with the course. Thank you!
itswynette I’m thinking of applying in to the business/commerce programs in york (not schulich), ryerson, brock and carleton. I find the course to be a bit fast paced plus the heavy workload from this semester (physics, functions, english, and a part time job), which prevents me from truly grasping the concepts and taking time keeping up with all the homework.
Berts Berts May I ask what you got in grade 10 math and what you have now in grade 11 math? For those schools, I believe a 70% would get you an acceptance. At least that’s what people from my school got.
Hi! I'm applying for Rotman commerce and this video and your essays are very informative! I have a few questions about the application process... Are there only two timed responses and a 60-second video interview for the application? Also, was there was a word limit for any responses? After I receive a confirmation, I can choose when to do the supplementary right?
Hi, it’s been awhile since I did the supp app. I believe the responses were timed and there were word limits. Not too sure about when the supp app is released.
@@itswynette Apparently, there are also practice sessions for the interview section, but I'm unsure about where to find them... I feel like it's in the required documents category "Rotman Commerce Supplemental Application," but I'm so scared that I'll initiate the timed application by clicking on it. Do you remember where they are located? So sorry for all the questions and thank you SO MUCH for the help!!!!!! ♡ >.

Thanks for this video, it was really helpful. When you applied to IVEY AEO, did you need to submit anything else other than marks for admission to western (not the separate IVEY AEO application)?
@@itswynette One additional question, for McMaster Degroote I believe you said the supplemental application was optional. Does this mean that I would still have a good chance to get in if my marks were well above the minimum (ie because my extraciriculars are mediocre and the scholarship isnt a big factor)? Thanks!
OMG thank you so much for sharing this! It really helps a lot!! I’m a grade 12 student this year and want to apply to Ivey Business school, but I heard that they want students who have strong leadership skills. My grades are Ok,but I certainly do not have too much excellent extra curriculars, what would you suggest me to do in this final year? Thank you again!
Jiaqi Mao thanks for your support! First, I just want to stress that it’s quality over quantity. Find 3 activities you are truly passionate about. Hopefully you’ve already found activities you enjoy - just continue them! These 3 activities are the most important part of your application. You will have to write 500 word essays on them. Just make sure that you have enough experience to do so. Also, don’t just do activists for your application. Putting years of dedication into an activity is always better than volunteering for one afternoon. I guess what I want to say is, continue with the activities you really love and the application will be easy. Don’t be too hard on yourself or spread yourself too thin. Good luck! :)
Hi, I am planning to apply to some of the universities that you mentioned, but I had a question - If my grade 11 mark it not up to the mark but my grade 12 marks meet the requirements, it there any chance to get in?! Or is it like grade 11 marks are the most important marks. Thank you in advance ☺️
@@itswynette thanks! for all of your supp app’s did they send you an email with all the details after you applied or did you have to go to the websites yourself, especially for Ivey?
Hey, I was wondering if you could refer to notes throughout your Rotman Commerce application? For the two questions that we could prepare beforehand can we keep them ready to type? Even for the random questions can we keep some notes ready to refer to?
Hey love the video! Thanks for the info! I applied through OUAC and the early Supp deadline is December 10th. I’m worried they won’t send me my login info in time. When did you get yours? How long did it take them? Also, how many days before the deadline did you do the Supp app? Cuz in the description it says it can take up to 5 days to process so I’m really confused. Do I have to do it at least 5 days before?
Hi there. Thanks for the support! I'm sorry but it's been awhile and I don't remember the exact dates. I suggest you call admissions for these questions. I don't want to accidentally mislead you.
Hi, I’m applying for university this year and I had a few questions. If I didn’t do extra curricular activities in highschool would universities accept me and how would I answer the extra curricular activities questions on the application?
Hi Maya. Apologies for the late reply. Some programs require you to write about your e/c's. Some do not. If you are planning to apply to the really competitive programs that require a supp app, I suggest you get started on some e/c's ASAP. Competition is steep and you certianly need to write something you care about.
Hey, I'm applying for Ivey AEO and I was wondering if you know anything about the supplementary application being changed? We only have to write essays on two activities, not three, and there's no spot to put work experience or international experience. Am I missing something?
Hi Olivia. I was actually reviewing another Ivey applicant's supp app and I was surprised to hear that it requires two essays instead of three. I think things have changed.
Hi! Thank you so much for making this video! It is helping me to get a sense of what to expect. I am applying for Rotman this year and I was just wondering if there is a big difference between applying for early or applying at a later time? Are there any benefits or disadvantages or applying late?
Katelyn Son if you apply early, you will be considered for the earliest round of admission decisions. I applied really early and I was accepted during the first round of acceptances. I don’t know if applying early helps you chances but it definitely affects when you’ll get a decision.
Alex It was really late. Like the last two weeks in which they can offer you something, I was told I was on the wait list. Then like two or three weeks into the summer, I was rejected
Hi wynette! What did u score on your grade 12 and what subjects did u take? And do u have any tips please as im planning to go to schulich next year and i couldnt really find many student info
arshia ray Hi Arshia:) In my previous video to this one, I share all my grades, subjects, and extracurriculars. The biggest thing for Schulich is doing well in the video interview and having at least five ECs to write about. You will be expected to write a small paragraph of the learning outcomes for each of your five ECs.
Suppose I have a high average in academic versus a lower average in ib or ap...would the university choose the academic student or the ib/ap courses? Btw, im looking to apply to an engineering program at university of waterloo, mcmaster, u of t, or western
Hey, did you had to choose three colleges when you applied to UofT for Rotman Commerce? If yes, did you had to do the supplementary application for the colleges like victoria college? Also, your video was really helpful. Thanks a lot.
Do you have to take any AP or any advanced courses to get into these top schools? Did you take any AP courses? Cuz in my school the highest level course type that they offer is university or college/university.
Hi, all of your videos are very helpful !! Thank you for sharing all your experience with us. Could you please reply if that’s ok to sign with any website or institute which says they will guide to increase the chance of getting accepted by universities in Canada. I am applying to business program and I found one page on Instagram they say there is boot camp and there are charges for their packages. What is your suggestion or experience. Will it be useful. Have you taken any ?? Or if university will find it will be negative impact on application. Could you please reply at earliest. Deadlines are approaching. Thank you in advance
Hi Saira. I didn't use any paid services. I personally would not because there are a lot of resources online. As long as you write an essay that is true to yourself and free of grammatical errors, there's not much more you can do. I hope my Dropbox helps and feel free to use it as a reference. If deadlines are fast approaching, the best thing to do is get started on them right away (don't let those paid services slow you down). Trust that you can do this yourself.
Wow this is an amazing video!!! I have a few questions: I’m going to be applying next year, I have a 90s average and I am in a few different ECs however I do not have any work experience. What would you recommend that I do, are there any organizations you know of in Toronto that may be willing to provide high school students with a business related job opportunity. ( also I am in SHSM for business)
Thanks for the support! I suggest that you only get a part time job if you are up for it. Also, don’t take more hours than you can handle. For me, 7 hours a week was enough. I suggest that you check out the City of Toronto job listings. Currently they are seeking applications for fall in their recreation department. Here is the link: www.brainhunter.com/frontoffice/seekerJobSearchAction.do?sitecode=pl704 Although recreation jobs are not directly related to business, the skills you learn (customer’s service, problem solving, organization) are applicable to any career. Do you have any more questions?
Thanks so much this is really helpful!!! I also have one final question: I’m not super great at math but I’m willing to work super hard this year. Do you have any advice for improving in math?
An hak you should be fine. I got a 91 in functions and just continued to do my homework in adv functions and calculus. One of the best sites for adv functions is “symbolab”. They have calculators for everything. Even for tricky advanced functions trig. For calculus, you will have to do a lot of word problems. I suggest you search up a RUclips channel called, “mr. mathwell”. He is a math teacher based in Ontario. He actually uses the same homework package as the one my school used. He had step by step instructors for solving “related rates” and “max and min” problems. I know these terms don’t mean anything to you right now, but they will. Just keep these two sites in mind. And always ask your teacher if you are unsure. Even ask your teacher to circle what questions you should “focus” on before a test. I find asking that specific question can help you narrow down your studying topics.
Hey I'm applying to rotman commerce tomorrow. Any tips? I'm also a 105 applicant applying after early admin like the December date. Do u think I have a good chance of getting in
Ethan B my biggest tip is to just practice a ton before you do the real thing. Make sure you’re super comfortable. I can’t really say if you have a good chance or not because I don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, but as long as your marks are strong, I don’t think applying past the early deadline will hurt your chances
I love you sm for making this video!! ❤️My top two’s are Ivey and Queens Commerce. I got nominated for the Queens Chancellor and Western National, but I have to chose only one to apply to. Do u know anyone who has won these scholarships? I am stuck between the two, do u have an insights by chance?
TatianasLife Wow! Congratulations! I actually know two girls who graduated high school one year before me who won the Queen’s chancellor scholarship. I also know a person who applied for chancellor and didn’t get it but received a smaller but still generous scholarship. I personally don’t know anyone who won the Western National. You are actually so lucky! Last year's commerce programs seems not so competitive. Only three parts for rotman! That's joking this year, Rotman added more interviews and written questions this year. Queen's changed too, they change questions every month this year. Average this year is also to the ceiling now, for all the university, people I know have at least 95 average applying. hellooo I am very confused about the deadlines for UfT.

Nope
Once you submited the programs and paid on OUAC, did the universities email you next steps for the supp apps and such? Or did you have to directly go to their site and do it yourself?
Dylan James Chang I can’t remember if all of them emailed me. I think most of them did. But I found all the supp apps and deadlines myself. I completed them over the Christmas break. I wouldn’t rely on the emails honestly.
itswynette okay okay thanks
can you provide any tips or anything to be aware of regarding the AFMAA for waterloo? thanks!
Gabriela Tam I talked about it in my video. I also have a link below of the AFM copy.
For my school advanced functions is also a co requisite course, meaning I can take it while taking calculus at the same time.
Also I'm also applying to business, I kinda do have some EC, like I'm in the deca team for next year, I was part of Arts Council at my school last year, I was part of grade 9 concert band, and I have volunteered at my elementary school in grade 9 but I don't have a part time job yet, what should I do?
I'm also planning to do more ECs in grade 12.
Kar Cho Oh okay! Personally, I would not recommend taking both at the same time. I found the material tough and work load heavy. Even though I had spares in both semesters, I was constantly doing adv functions / calc homework. Obviously, your math ability may be different than mine. That’s just my piece of advice but take it with a grain of salt.
hello, I was just wondering how many words was ur PSE because for mine it says 300 words however the word count is based on characters.
Ahlam I just pasted my words into a character counter
Hi! I’m looking into applying to Western for business and eventually joining Ivey but I’m confused about what you do in the first two years as a business student. What programme did you apply for?
Vienna C I applied for BMOS and media (MIT)
It’s crazy how I made it to loo with well below average marks, taking one night school course and one private school course but 🤷♂️🤷♂️
How was the AFMAA?
Lawrence L that’s awesome! How do you like it?

Do your references get a copy of the essay?
kool kids I’m not 100% sure, but I know they do get a snippet of what you claimed to do (at least for Ivey). I’m not too sure about the other schools.
How many ecs did you need to list for Schulich?
Thank you so much for this video! It was really helpful and informative. Do you have any tips on how to do well in functions and math in general? I found grade 11 to be a huge shock and that I am absolutely clueless and struggling with the course. Thank you!
Berts Berts hi there! Thank-you for your support :)
Just to be clear, are you in grade 11 math or grade 12 math?
itswynette I’m in 11 functions currently
Berts Berts May I ask what schools you’re interested in? Also, what seems to be hardest part about functions?
itswynette I’m thinking of applying in to the business/commerce programs in york (not schulich), ryerson, brock and carleton.

Nope!
@@itswynette One additional question, for McMaster Degroote I believe you said the supplemental application was optional. Does this mean that I would still have a good chance to get in if my marks were well above the minimum (ie because my extraciriculars are mediocre and the scholarship isnt a big factor)? Thanks!
@@tcgsam yep!!
@@itswynette Thank you so much for your responses.
Good luck! :)
itswynette Ok I get it! Thank you so so much! Good luck at McMaster♥️♥️
How long were the paragraphs for the leadership profile (Schulich)? How many words did you have for each?
Check in the dropbox link in the description
Hi, I am planning to apply to some of the universities that you mentioned, but I had a question - If my grade 11 mark it not up to the mark but my grade 12 marks meet the requirements, it there any chance to get in?! Or is it like grade 11 marks are the most important marks. Thank you in advance ☺️
Nusaibah Hasan grade 12 are def more important! you still have a shot ofc!
Thanks for this video! Can you tell me the rough time you applied to these schools? Would mid november be fine?
Hipsty Hopsty mid November is more than fine. Probably when I applied. Also, I finished my supp apps during Christmas break.

Denis Karimov I’m sorry! I didn’t apply to Sauder.

Denis Karimov correct. Only the video questions were timed.

@@itswynette oh okay thank you! I was kinda scared for a second cause I thought I had to write another essay😅
@@itswynette thanks for responding!

Hi wynette! What did u score on your grade 12 and what subjects did u take? And do u have any tips please as im planning to go to schulich next year and i couldnt really find many student info
arshia ray Hi Arshia:)
In my previous video to this one, I share all my grades, subjects, and extracurriculars.
The biggest thing for Schulich is doing well in the video interview and having at least five ECs to write about. You will be expected to write a small paragraph of the learning outcomes for each of your five ECs.
Nice job with the grades👍🏻 so the ec’s are given by the uni when you apply or do they give it to you as an exam like question
arshia ray no. By ec’s I mean extra-
curriculars. You do them and then have to write about them.
Ohh i see so are their specific ec’s that they prefer?
arshia ray I don’t think so! Whatever you’re passionate about. You can click the Dropbox link in the description to see what I wrote about. :)
Suppose I have a high average in academic versus a lower average in ib or ap...would the university choose the academic student or the ib/ap courses? Btw, im looking to apply to an engineering program at university of waterloo, mcmaster, u of t, or western
Ashwin Santhosh I’m sorry, I am not sure. Speaking from my personal experience, you can’t really go wrong with a high average from academic courses.

Thank you so much for your reply .... it means a lot !! I totally agree with you !!
Here is the link: www.brainhunter.com/frontoffice/seekerJobSearchAction.do?sitecode=pl704
Although recreation jobs are not directly related to business, the skills you learn (customer’s service, problem solving, organization) are applicable to any career.
Do you have any more questions?
Thanks so much this is really helpful!!! I also have one final question: I’m not super great at math but I’m willing to work super hard this year. Do you have any advice for improving in math?
An hak May I ask what mark you got in functions?
I got a 90 but in grade 10 i had a 75
An hak you should be fine.
Hey do you mind me asking... did you get accepted into Schulich?
I did
Thank you so much for this
I love you sm for making this video!!
