Deep in the heart of Jakarta's slums lies an impenetrable safe house for the world's most dangerous killers and gangsters. Until now, the rundown apartment block has been considered untouchable to even the bravest of police. Cloaked under the cover of pre-dawn darkness and silence, an elite swat team is tasked with raiding the safe house in order to take down the notorious drug lord that runs it. But when a chance encounter with a spotter blows their cover and news of their assault reaches the drug lord, the building's lights are cut and all the exits blocked. Stranded on the 6th floor with no way out, the unit must fight their way through the city's worst to survive their mission. Director Gareth Evans (Merantau) and rising martial arts star Iko Uwais reunite in this adrenaline-fueled action film.

It's crazy how THE RAID is 10 years old today. There are action films, then there's The Raid. It will always stand as a pure example of how action should be helmed and how action cinema should be crafted.
Before every action movie was trying to be John Wick, they were trying to be The Raid.
Actually every decent action movies after the Raid are try to be the Raid
Not only is the film exceptionally well choreographed but the trailer is also very well composed.
Raid and raid 2 easily the best 2 action movies past 15 years
I rate them just slightly higher than the John Wick series. The Raid franchise is a 9.5/10 ; John Wick Franchise is a 9/10

@@MrCholoPants3415 John Wick was heavily influenced by The Raid franchise so I wouldn't put it anywhere close. It didn't break new grounds like The Raid did. If someone came out with a Godfather knockoff and it was good, it wouldn't be rated the same as the original.

Actually Dredd was finished shooting by the time The Raid was being put together, but it was put on the back burner for awhile for some reason.

And I wonder if all of main actors and stunts of this movie are caucasian, will it still be a great movie? I think, all of them (the director, cameraman, actors, stunts, etc) have given their best efforts, sweats, bloods, and souls. That's what makes this a great movie :)

The building is 30 floors, but I believe the boss was on the 15th or 20th floor, don't remember which.
They are still elite cops. Being a rookie means you are new. Therefore they are rookie elite cops.
Only Rama (Iko Uwais) was the rookie. He specifically joined the force so he could eventually find his brother and bring him back from his gang life.

This trailer says "20 elite cops" in the movies 18 of them are called "rookies" before they enter the building. Or am I the only one who noticed that?

Dredd wasn't put on a back burner... They had to work on CG. But still you're actually wrong, even with the so called "back burner" time. The raid was in post production when Dredd was still in pre-production.
