Little known gem starring the great Belita dancing and ice skating. Although Belita was overshadowed in popularity by Sonja Henie as a skater, "Lady, Let's Dance" has a skating routine equal or better than any of Henie's movie skating. Belita also has several excellent dance routines in the movie. Great entertainment that is well worth watching, and it promotes very positive personal moral values.

I loved Sonja Henie……not only her skating, but always laughed at how she met her first husband !❤️

Doing turns on the stairs from a fifth position then from a la seconde! ...the kooky stuff they made her do, immensely impressive, obviously, training with skates on gave her an edge( see what I did?:) ) Belita was first-rate dancer and skater., a divine woman.

Great movie! James Ellison was married to his first wife for 32 years until she passed in 1970 and his second wife from 1972 until he passed in 1993.

Quirky B Movie. I loved the Latin music bits especially her samba turn with the professional dancer . She clearly was a good dancer.

Fantastic, string players by the pool; conveying motion to the synchronized swimmers.

I hope this James Ellison isn't who I'm commenting on, I realize this is made in 1944 same as when the movie is set in, but from the beginning this "Jerry " is a complete narcissist, egomaniac jerk of a character, its his role and plays that person almost to well. I'm continuing to watch because I love the Dancing and loved the water ballet, I'm sure he will turn into a gentleman at the end ( I really hope), but I have to watch and see.... right ! I just had to comment on his obnoxious personality. I stopped this at 33.00 min, so can't wait to see the talented dancers and musicians. Thanks much😊

He changed after going through some hard times, and sometimes that's what people need to start thinking about others. This was a slow movie for me, as I would have enjoyed more dialogue.

What was " Pathe", by 1944? I thought they were bought out by that Kennedy's father and RKO in the 30s !

The dancing was great but there was practically no plot, and the love story unconvincing. They fell in love in one day, and he suddenly became a self-sacrificing martyr. He and everybody else who discovered her talent, instead of fighting to keep her, gladly and selflessly gave her away to the next agent or producer so she could have the next step to her career! .
The whole thing was super-boring and disappointing. I would have watched a show of some of the dances put together, but the whole film... yawn!
