We should be grateful to Leif Ove Andsnes and other world-class pianists who are willing to offer master classes. Its also noteworthy that in so many cases, the masters have to correct the mistakes done by students which involve the very basic principle or fundamentals of piano playing

Very nice masterclass! Very insightful to hear Andsnes' points on how to style this piece.
Would have also been nice if the student waited until Andsnes' was done with his points before continuing on to play!

I would have loved to hear what Andsnes had to say if the student didn't interrupt him every single time.

i should qualify that by saying she does follow his instructions but often cuts him off, playing when she should be listening.

She plays constantly while he is talking, a bit like someone who constantly interrupts. She is not there to keep doing what she's already doing, but rather take advantage of the privilege of being taught by one of our greatest pianists, to improve. I would think she would be a frustrating student for any teacher, Andsnes' patience with her is extraordinary.

It's disgusting how you judge her without knowing her. And all because she sometimes plays a little too long? She is really good at the piano and implements his tips very quickly. The only frustrated one is you because you're not nearly as good as her. Unbelievable what envy does.

Yes I agree, many times she interrupted while he is still talking which is very rude and arrogant for me

@@malmosma2301 You sir are absolutely right. All I saw here is was a model masterclass, with a more than proficient student following every bit of advice from the master. Some people are just f****d or plain stupid or envious or any mix of the above so yeah, just happened here. You have a nice one !

Excruciating and somewhat painful to watch due to the students inability to listen to directions. She has musicality but seems her technique is deficient and she has far too many superfluous movements that have become habitual. A shame that she couldn´t listen more, but perhaps due to her personality, or the occasion influenced her listening skills. Andsnes is very patient with her but I could feel even his patience was running thin.

This student needs to learn how to listen to people when they are talking. It's called etiquette.
