  • I travel to the Isle of May, Scotland which each year between April and August becomes home to thousands of birds including over 80,000 puffins.
I was very lucky with the weather when I visited and got lots of photographs of Puffins including the iconic shot of puffins with sand eels in their beak's. This video gives you some tips and settings to use when photographing these beautiful birds.

Beautiful, which lens did you sued ? 500mm is enough ? (I also have crop mode on camera to give me 800mm). Another question I see in the map, 2 locations for landing..

Ross, what focal length would you recommend? I have 800mm but don't want to lug it if it's not necessary. Thanks.

you can get pretty close to the puffins if you are patient. a lot of my better shots were around 200mm or 300mm. if you have a 100-400mm lens that is what I would recommend.

@@rossantonybrownphotography1122 About to go there in a few days! I've got an RF600 F11 as well as an EF100-400. The 600 is lighter and works well with my R6. Will I regret not having the closer zoom if I only take the 600?
