I have watched several of your vids now from all the toilet ones to the sex one and spasm one and as a 40 year para pro, I applaud the pair of you. I don't think you fully get how much these vids WILL help not just new paras, but couples or families that are living with an SCI or someone with an SCI. Big props to the pair of you... SERIOUSLY..! Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the nice comment. If we can help a few people then it will all be worth it! 😊
Keep up!
I also spent 5 months on Stoke Mandeville (August to December 1999).
I am a Greek guy with A4 incomplete injury.
Wishing you both all the best.
I think this is one of the more in depth videos I’ve seen on here about sci rehab over here in the UK.....great job👍🏾
Glad to hear it, thanks for the feedback 😁
Hello to you both. My son was 7 years old when he was injured in an auto accident 5 years ago. His injuries are at L2. So much of what you have gone through is so familiar. Thank you so much for sharing. Our son Jacob and I have recently discovered your youtube channel and have enjoyed very much watching your journey, reminiscing about our experience, and also learning new stuff. Like you, we are fortunate to have a spinal rehab specialist center that continues to support us and provide adaptive sports. Your videos are very encouraging to him as he is reaching his teen age years and beginning to really consider what his adult life will be like. Again, we appreciate your openness and honesty with your experiences, We wish you all the best!
Thanks for the nice comment, glad to hear you and Jacob are coping well with his injury! All the best to you both 😃
Awesome video! I'm an actor, screenwriter and youtuber. I'm writing a movie in which the main character also becomes paraplegic after a road accident. It's easy to find technical information about spinal cord injuries, but it's so hard to find so many important details about living with them. This video answered many of my questions! Thank you so much!
Good luck with the movie! We're glad you're doing your research, too many movies only focus on the not being able to walk aspect and not the bladder or bowels or loss of core muscles or anything else but nearly everyone with a spinal cord injury will say it's the small things that are the hardest part of being paralysed. Out of interest, what level of spinal cord injury is the main character going to have?
@@PARALIFE Thank you so much for your insight, really great to know about that! She becomes paralysed from the waist down. I’m currently reaching the mid-point of the first draft, so there’s still plenty of room for changing that if needed.
Canada needs this kinda of program as well
YOU ROCK!!!👍🏾🙏🏾💪🏾
Good on ya mate! Very proud of you & your partner!
👍🏾👍🏾🇦🇺
I spent 3 1/2 months flat on my back in a full brace in a general hospital because I had to many injuries and to many other problems like both lungs punched to have surgery on my back and then transferred to Southport Spinal Unit for 4 months of rehab nearly 14 years ago and I can relate to a lot of what you went through. You look like you are doing well keep it up 👍
Ouch, that does sound like an ordeal! Glad you got through it fine 👍 It's not an easy task but we all do the best we can 😃
Good Luck david, you got this 👍
Thankyou for this
KEEP THE GOOD WORK, what is ur level of injury?
Thanks :) I'm a T4 complete paraplegic
I hope you're Recovering. I'm a Sci patient T-12, 23 Years old. Injured my back when i fell from the 4th floor. How're you?
We are doing better every day, thank you! It's now been nearly 3 years since my accident (time flies!). Excited to be able to travel and explore again once it is safe to do so. 😀 How are you getting on?
In what country were these many excellent medical and therapeutic services provided ?
I am a quadriplegic residing in Western Australia.
I never received care that was anything close to what was depicted in the story, after I broke my neck at C6-C7.
Is this type of wonderful care, only available to the very wealthy ?
Stay strong please
I enjoy these videos :)
Glad to hear it 😀
Do you experience autonomic dysreflexia and if so do you have any videos about it?
Still furtunate you.have all the equipment an physio when ever you need it.im also parapligic stuck on just 1 wheelchair for 6yrs.
Haven't had access to any equipment or physio since I left rehab 1 and a half years ago but it was great while I was there
Hey good day to you both, i am a currently a paraplegic almost over a year now i have recently come across your channel, i live in the caribbean, i will to know if you have to pay for the theropy services and etc and what country are you from...because in my country they offer free health care services but they not give you the necessary information which is needed and they follow up with the patients. My spinal cord is still not stabilized with any rods or srews and i have a object in the middle of my spinal cord still, i was not given any sugery to stabilize my spain...basically the doctors just made sure i have my life and thats it.. I have alot of questions to ask and no one to ask it too could you please help me.
Would be nice if you mentioned what kind of of spinal injury . My brother has t1 through t4 . I’m trying to find hope he will walk and use the restroom on his own again
Hiii!! I just want to ask if you feel something like electricity flowing through your feet or legs???
Hi, no I don't, I have no sensation at all from the chest down
Do you believe you will ever walk again?
Craig could never be creepy😇
Creepy?
@@PARALIFE the early videos are 👍
@@thiabrabson2533 oh it was cringey not creepy - hopefully our videos have got better since the early days?
V interesting, thanks for sharing - Ian T4
Good to hear, thanks for commenting 👍
My mom became a paraplegic at the age of 69. They had a 3 day window of time, to evacuate the blood, however, being the savage cats they are. They chose to expose their soft little under belly to the world.
❤️
Can you see why they got most people running scared?
So.. God called me in the most mysterious of ways.
Prior to this when my mom was 56 drs induced a severe stroke by inserting an estrogen into my mom who was bleeding out from colitis. My mothers legs swelled to shoe box size my dad said and she had a cva. The savages were once again in their mad scientist world and no one charged them criminally.
Lets help them to find out, God.
Is it possible for you both to do these videos with an American accent?
We are terrible at accents 😂😂
Savage, indeed.
My mom was bleed out into her spine by Drs with a documented over dose of Coumadin. Her pro time was 6.9 ..with a normal value of 2. So.. yes, Drs are savage and cats with claws that Gods pulling out daily with me.
I dont care. Do you?
Using medicines... on a person who presents with no need for such treatment. Blatant disregard for human life.
