- Keeping PUBLIC LANDS OPEN | What Is Leave No Trace? | How Each Of Us Can Do Our Part
You might have heard the term "Leave No Trace" but did you know that it is more than just a catch phrase and instead consists of 7 principles which can make you a better steward of the land around you. In this time when so many public lands are closing we have a responsibility to do our part in helping do better and spreading the word as to how others can also!! Come along with us as we look into each of the ways we can do better and then watch as we pick up trash and find some pretty incredible things which were left behind.

All three of you are great stewards of Leave No Trace! If only more people would be this way it would be great! It is so simple to do!
I think our goal is to help encourage people to see how easy it can be to just take care of things and spend just a few minutes cleaning up after ourselves
It's so sad that grown @$$ people have to be told and reminded of such things. 😢
In some instances people who don’t recreate often don’t think about the common sense approach to cleaning up after themselves because they feel as though Ranger will come in and take care of everything. However, it is not the responsibility of the Ranger to take care of our garbage and I hope that through like this people can see that.
Regarding leaving your campsite better than you found it: I find twist-ties, plastic bread bag closers, and bottle caps in virtually every campsite, whether campground or boondocking, I go to. Whether it glints, or is an unnatural color, they aren’t hard to find.
As for not disturbing wildlife, the rule of thumb is that if the animal notices your presence, you are too close.
Thanks for sharing this important info, and don’t pet the fluffy cows!
Love leave no trace , unfortunately not everyone does it shame on them , great vid, much love n respect 🇦🇺😘👍🏼
I know it’s really unfortunate that a lot of people don’t understand the concept or don’t even try in some instances, but I will always at least try to continue to communicate the reasons behind it so that maybe even if it makes a difference with one person that’s one step closer to the goal
I have a picker, so I don’t reach down. I don’t want to be focusing on something and not notice a sneaky snake waiting to bite me. 🥴
Thank you, Bunny. That was alot for a clean looking campsite.
I think that is the part we don't realize even with the clean looking campsite upon closer inspection we can always find trash!
That was fun!!! 💃🏻
Yes... we should make it a challenge next time!! Just for funzies!!!
Sorry, typo... Old eyes . Camping communities, not camping committees...
It is OK. I have a lot of typos sometimes too lol it just happens. Sometimes the phone is too smart for its own good and even auto correct things that are spelt correctly lol
It’s unfortunate, but this informative video will be new information to so many people. The huge increase in people camping and having absolutely no idea of Camping etiquette, or leave no trace, leaves me baffled. It seems that once Covid hit, everybody decided to camp. The garbage and trash they leave is disgraceful. I hope this video reaches a boatload of people. Well done, Bunny.
It is true there are a lot of new people who have never experienced camping and because of that it’s really important for them to learn and I think that it’s great that more and more parks are starting to put the leave no trace principals at the gate or hand people paperwork whenever they check in however people have to also actually consume that by reading it and unfortunately a lot of them still do not so I’m hoping through videos like this that it helps people see that there are reasons for different rules and then also understand that they can be a part of the solution
Thank you Bunny... I can't tell you enough how much these tutorials are needed throughout the camping committees. In most cases, I want to believe it's just plain ignorance, as in lack of knowledge that cause problems. If we can eliminate that, that's the biggest threat to sustainability out there. Some cases unfortunately, it will have to be Momma bear and her cubs teaching others to be respectful. I'd much rather they learn these things from you and your videos. Again, Thank you sweet fellow traveler. You're doing a Great service for the lifestyle. Big hugs to you my friend.
I always just want to do my part when it comes to helping and because I do have a platform talking about things like this just makes sense. If I can share this with even even a single person who wasn’t aware of their impact then they change their behavior. It’s worth it.
Great job ladies! These lessons were drilled into us as scouts early on. If people would just take a few minutes before leaving site it would have an amazing impact. My biggest pet peeve is folks leaving cans and trash in fire pits as they leave. Hate to have to clean up site before even setting up camp. Thanks again for getting info out!!!
I agree a lot of people think that if they put it in the fire pit, somebody else comes and takes care of it and that’s not the case especially in disperse campsites so we have to do better
I love how you all explain things so well!
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me. I have always wanted to just make sure that whatever I do I am sharing with others in a way that can help them to see what is available to them.
# 2 Means things like don't destroy the Cryptobiotic Crusts.
Thank you so much for reminding of this important guideline. So many parks are being closed bc they are being trashed.
I have seen that as well... I think it is so important for us all to advocate for doing better in our communities and at campsites. We have to think and consider all the things that are happening out there and how we can make a positive change.
@@BunnyPlaysHere love you to pieces girl! 💜💕
One aspect that is often ignored. When there is a fire ring, DO NOT BURN YOUR TRASH in the fire pit. Also, do not leave behind your trash for someone else to burn in the fire pit. It’s disgusting to encounter when arriving to a place and you never know if wind or critters might cause that trash to be dispersed somewhere else it shouldn’t be.
I definitely agree with that. I think I’ve mentioned that in a previous video that someone had done that, but I’m not sure that I touched on it. I often talk about how you shouldn’t leave your trash in a fire ring but as I dive into these a little bit deeper, I’m hoping to talk about that a little little bit more
Can’t count how many times I’ve fished half-burned cans and tinfoil out of fire pits, grills, etc., even in state parks. Gross!
Where can I get one if those cards and I would love to hear more about it
Leave no trace has a lot of different resources on their website. I would definitely encourage you to start there
Any Way !😂
I am thinking of possibly selling my Tacoma and purchasing a van. What brand is yours and mileage and if you have had any mechanical issues. Also how does insuring it work. Is it classified as commercial. Enjoy your channel. Thank you in advance.
Mine is a 2020 NV200 no issues mechanically with it ... love my little van
Good video, better message.
thanks so much.. every bit of positivity we can put into this world we hope to do so!!!
You girls did a good job cleaning up. Hopefully it will encourage others to follow the Leave No Trace principles.
Hey Bunny, Riley & Dee. (I watch all of you) I respect No Trace, definitely. On my boat as well as camping. Please keep in mind I could not run my mom's 02 concentrator without a generator. So there might be instances that require a generator at night, so I apologize in advance if that is us (she kinda needs oxygen, lol). Be well all
This was so funny to make lol
You know I'm bad at interviews early in the morning! 🤣
me: oh there's 7? HAHAHAH omggggg
I mean… We hadn’t even had coffee so I think you and Dee both did really well
Lol
Hello, hello.😊😊😊
Hiii
I'm interested
I will certainly go into more details on the topics over the next few months of travels...
😂I am a Neat Freak any wat !😮😅
More people could do good by doing so
Yes please make a video going more in depth on the leave no trace
I will be going into these each over the next few months to explain what we can do with each!!
