No holidays, no personal time etc, the only thing in life is the restaurant, basically no life. Family members are unhappy as people in the restaurant line do not give them much attention to them because all your attention is to run your restaurant smoothly. And the staff today are highly unreliable which makes restaurant business so difficult.
The Customers feed back is the best option accepted by the Restaurants owner. Second thing is the dollar price and Indian Businessmen price. The Indians think prices in Indian rupees, but foreigners think in dollars, because both prices are different.

I have tried all Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Japanese, Lebanese in India. It really sucks. None of these restaurants serve authentic food. Reason could be cooks are not from overseas they could be Indian chefs who learned little bit of these dishes but they fail to give authentic dishes. They put Indian flavor in these dishes. In India only Indian food is appreciated.
In India even KFC doesn't taste like KFC or for that matter Subway. It is designed for the Indian consumer. Same for the Cuisines you mentioned. Plus the authentic ingredients are very expensive need to be imported fresh every week.

As with all customer centric operations one should have a genuine desire to serve people. At the same time an entrepreneur should have the sound knowledge of the financial aspects of the business. Its not easy as it also requires managerial skills with your employees to maintain a happy workforce. One should also have the desire to learn throughout their lifetime. Other businesses are similar but the food industry requires alot more attention an and eye for detail. Thry don't call it hospitality for nothing.
Very informative. Elaborate explanation. But i have to differ on one point. Whenever in Bombay, i visit one medium type restaurant which specializes in sea food. I requested 3 or 4 times to provide with me some leads. That Shetty never had any inclination to help me ... nor his staff. Its OK.
