- Carmen (1921-2013) was one of my top accordion idols. I was very excited to meet him & even record 3 of his concerts (1995/96/98). I miss this likeable artist very much and want to share several more performances of his; enjoy.
I took lessons from him for over a decade. What an amazing man.
Me too I had lessons from him for a year but I did play accordion 🪗 before meeting Mr. Carroza he was amezing player unbelievable Missin him RIP
I took accordion lessons at the Carozza Music Studio from the age of 5 until the age of 12. 1957-1964. My mother worked there as their receptionist. Most my my lessons were given by Carmen's brother Pat. But one time Pat was away and I was given my half hour lesson by Carmen himself. I didn't like playing the accordion back then so my parents said I could quit taking lessons. When the Beatles came out I decided to switch to self taught guitar at the age of 13. I still have my old accordion (a 3/4 size ) and now at the age of 70 I decided to see if I could learn to play better then when I was a kid. And I am enjoying playing the three songs I have learned recently. As a matter of fact I went and purchased a full size and much better quality accordion 4 months ago and it makes me smile and very happy to play it. Thanks Heinz for posting these videos of Carmen. Where can we find sheet advanced accordion sheet music? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Would love to learn some of the pieces you play.
Very well played but WAY TOO FAST!!!! This Tico Tico song is a dance song. No way you can dance at that speed. Many accordion players think that playing at a fast speed renders a better performance. A big mistake.
