Thanks, Max for this informative presentation! As a BN fan and modeler that has bled green for many decades, I welcomed the executive SD70MACs with mixed emotions in the 1990s. it is the normal progression of things that these once new hot rods are being replaced with more reliable and efficient power. Won't stop me from running my fleet of HO scale Grinstein green units!

Very informative video, your very thorough in your explanations👍🏼. EMD SD70's are some of my favorite units, always enjoy learning more about them, thanks for posting.

Great video. As much as I would love to see these locomotives here in Brazil, our period of importation of used locomotives has passed some time ago... we locally produce locomotives AC44i e ES44ACi derived from the ES44 and ET44 and too SD70ACe.

Enjoyed this video I’ve always been a big fan of the sd70macs I’m a big csx fan and was very happy to learn csx was rebuilding 25 of theirs a few years ago. I’ve always liked the executive painted bnsf macs it’s sad they are all getting old and some day they will be no longer in service. they are the most handsome of the 3rd generation power in my opinion.

I saw BSNF 9712 today trailing NS 268. It was working pretty hard.

Awesome video! I know these SD70MACs well both growing up and now driving crew hauling vans here on the Thayer Subdivision! There's still a good number of these units prowling this line, even leading trains on occasion! And they're even showing up on non coal trains as of late even turning up on high priority Z trains in certain situations, plus they're very popular with the crews here as well! I wouldn't worry about these things disappearing off the Rails anytime soon, they're going to be here for the foreseeable future as they're still performing very well even with their advanced age!

Nicely done; great job matching photos with the narration. The audio track needs to be a little louder; I had my volume all the way up and still had trouble hearing it.

As he said in the video half of locomotives are in storage and some are still being used on the BNSF the BN is not a company anymore because they are now the BNSF

Yes they do, a good number of them run here on the Thayer Subdivision where I work, there's even some still in green and cream! Even better, they're showing up on other trains besides coal trains, even on high priority Z trains on some occasions, proving they're not just a one trick pony!

Also I STRONGLY RECOMEND buying The BKVP DVD " Burlington Northern Finale Powder River Coal" DVD as it shows these beauties when they were BRAND NEW in 1996 just after the BN and ATSF combined but were still their own seperate entités
