This is exactly the type f game I've been looking for! other similar games have not met the expectations i had with this style of game. but this seems perfect!
I'm guessing you've been asked this before, but where did you learn how to write a game engine from scratch? I admire your dedication and vision and would love to learn a fraction of what you know, but I have no clue where I would start. Keep up the great work
Thanks, I appreciate the support! Getting messages like this provides more motivation than you might realize. I actually haven't been asked how I learned how to write a game from scratch very often. I think the answer is basically that I have been doing this type of thing for a long time. I've been tinkering with programming little games since I was a kid, and never stopped tinkering, so there is a lot of accumulated experience. Also, I have started and abandoned several games in the past, with the previous project being something I worked on for a few years, but eventually abandoned. This time I committed to completing and releasing a full game. If you are interested in working on your own stuff, start anywhere. Do whatever interests you and if it fails or you stop, it's fine because you will know that much more for next time you try making something.
Ok, I didn't think much of it until I saw the size of the map ! This is huge !
Got this randomly recommended. Absolutely love the design and hope to see this as a purchasable game somewhere soon!
Thanks. I have a fair bit more work to do before it is releasable, but keep tuned for future announcements. ;-)
