The 8 bit guy is one of those people who always seems to finish projects so ridiculously fast and to such a high standard. I've honestly never seen someone in person myself who can match it. For 98% of people this would have been a stillborne idea when you account for the fact this was hardly the only thing he was doing.
Just found out this is about 5 minutes from my house. I will definitely be coming by. Thanks for the video because I didn't know just how nice a place this is on the inside. Great job8-bit guy!
You can't look trough the glass. Maybe they could add some big posters outside to show how it looks inside. Cos many people don't even know what an "Arcade" is.
I think this looks like an awesome arcade! I really hope that it does well. I’ve seen some of the videos of The 8-Bit Guy helping refurbish some of the arcade cabinets and he put in a lot of work.
I wanted to play a game I loved in the 80s called Exciting Hour so badly I would have flown to Texas to play it, but thanks to some inspiration from 8 Bit Guy, instructions from Geek Pub and a sale on the raspberry pi, I built one. What skills do I have? None! I tried to hammer in a nail with a flip flop once, and I am not sure it was wrong. As for computers, I remember load"*",8,1 from an old commodor 64, but don't know what the ,1 was for. Regardless, thanks to videos like this, and about 30 hours of spare time, I have my favorite arcade game ever (minus cabinet art) Thanks for the inspiration, and thank you, Brett for reminding me of all the fun I had with those great games.
F****n love me some 8 Bit Guy! Love the fact Dimebag Darryl was his cousin. Ive been inspired by his projects & stories over the past 10 years. Love his tenacity, love his down to earth approach to complex subject matter. This arcade cabinet venue serves to be an affirmation of all his accumulated work over the years, he couldn't be more deserving. Sincerely
My daughter and I came in yesterday..top notch arcade. We had a great time! My faves are burger time and pinballs.. Was so happy to see both.. Nice selection of games! Staff members are very helpful and kind.
So MANY great games in one room! Jealous! Wish I were there ! Enjoy! Good luck to the 8-bit Guy and his partner(s) in keeping this place up and running forever! Nice tour, Brett.
(3:36) If I lived in Texas (I live in Ohio, unfortunately), I know exactly which arcade game I'd be playing NONSTOP, as I've played it on arcade, NES, Game Boy, PC, and handheld systems. Its Type-A theme for the Game Boy is simply my favorite video game theme, PERIOD.
I used to live in Hurst, TX just next door to Bedford! To bad I am not still there! Wow, a whole lot of Arcades! Yay for Robotron 1984!! One of my favorites. Tied w/ Defender (and Stargate). Didn't see a defender. Hope the place is *very* successful!! If I'm ever in the area I'll definitely come by.
I live on the other side of the world and it's bittersweet to me to see such an amazing arcade appearing 40 years after most of the games were new. It's incredible to see the favourite games of my teenaged years side by side with games I've never heard of and other games I know but have never seen in real life, all in perfect working order. I wish the guys every possible success. Are all the games free play? That would be the icing on the cake for me. As a kid, my family and I were poor and I had to carefully pick and choose the games that were worth my money. I could spend days in this arcade. I hope it does really well.
Yes they are. I believe all the ones that don't have a freeplay mode have a hacked coin slot with a button. On the website it says that it's 20 dollars for a month pass which actually isn't much money at all when you consider coming there a few times a month and the actual machines are free. I believe the standard entry is 8 dollars?
Looks awesome but I am curious how this can survive as a business? The bar cades here pretty much survive on food/alcohol sales, small footprints and only being open 3-4 days a week with post work hours. That place is huge. Everything just cheap in Texas? Coming from a Toronto perspective. Would love a place like that here btw
Dude, a 2-for-1 special. Brett Weiss and the 8-Bit Guy together at last... Well, other than when your booths are right next to each other at Classic Game Fest... I really need to get up to Time Rift one of these days. Also, Golden Tee @1:30. That's the game that pays my bills and feeds my kids (I'm the UI guy for the Golden Tee franchise at Incredible Technologies, who also publishes Retro Racoons). ;)
Very nice selection of games, quite big site too!.. but an arcade needs blacklight, dark atmosphere and no full glass wall with daylight imho. Love to visit sometime!
All the luck! We opened a similar business over 20 years ago and lasted 18 years. Hope you guys didn't open at the wrong time. The economy isn't great right now. :(
Wow looks great. Most important thing to me is that all the games work properly. Nothing worse than playing these old games and the controls stick etc. With the 8 bit guy at the helm I bet everything works perfectly. Also careful with your hearing you only have one set of ears and mine were wrecked in the early 90s working at an arcade.
These bring back memories of the arcade at the swimming pool in the 80s. We couldn't afford to play and had to pretend we were playing the demos. How much do arcade credits cost in the US these days? It's crazy expensive in the UK, can't tell if the owners are milking it or if it's genuinely that expensive to run an arcade here. Arcade graphics always seemed so advanced compared to home computer versions years ago.
Growing up used to visit there were arcades everywhere. During the weekends we would go to Glendale where there were 3 big arcades on each block near the Galleria. There were the big Pacman arcade in Pasadena and a few in the LA areas. Sad they all closed down. Would love to visit this place if ever go around the area.
A very well balanced arcade that I wish had a location in Central Florida. All the best arcades seem to be in Texas for some reason besides Galloping Ghost.
This is really cool with a great variety of games, adding the 8 bit computers, c64 etc and consoles is a nice touch also. Just one observation is usually the business model these days is to combine another business arm with the arcade, e.g. why so many went the barcade route. Having the food and drink there is a good idea though
I've only seen the barcade route up to now and while understandable I can't say I'm happy that arcades only seem viable if they also serve liquor. Not to mention the smell of (spilt) alcohol while playing an arcade.
Nice, very cool. Here in the DFW area we are blessed with several arcades where you pay 12-20.00 and play all day for free. A few have 100s of cabs. Crazy...
Thanks for filming and posting! I was quite pleased to see the computer gaming section, being able to play classic games on original hardware was a surprise I did not expect. Looks like a really fun place!
This is awesome. Thanks for the tour. Hope the 8-bit guy has much success. I was hoping to see the Sinistar arcade game and the Gorgar pinball machine. Two voices that used to scare the heck out of me as a kid. Really nice ones there like Spy Hunter and Mr. Do.
WOW. I wish this was in Atlanta. It seems to only be missing Satan's Hollow and Crazy Climber. I'm so jealous that you can go there on the way to work.
Awesome - Rad selection! I played so many of these when I was a kid. I'm so glad my parents were generous with the quarters on pizza night. The background music for RallyX still is stuck in my head to this day. Maybe they will find a SiniStar machine someday? "Beware I Live!"
Wow, this looks amazing! What a great selection of games, including several favorites from the late 80s. Hopefully I can make it from Indiana down to Dallas sometime in the near future.
Damn. Is there no game you haven't played? This place looks magnificent, full of pristine machines each carefully restored by David and his brother Mike. With them and Electric Starship Mike as the 3 partners, I think it will do well. I don't even want to imagine the electric bill though!
While I was a child of the 80s, I missed out on the era of dedicated cabs for most games. By the time I started going to arcades, it was the second half of the 80s / early 90s and most games were in generic JAMMA cabinets by then. You'd sometimes get the proper game's marquee (at least I think you did) but the cabinet itself was just black, and there was no artwork on the control panel. I think by that time, arcade operators / corner shop owners were sold on the idea of swapping out JAMMA boards when they wanted to install a new game - At least that was where the industry was here in Australia at the time. So I see footage like this and it just looks so lovely.
I'm thankful that these reminders of our collective childhoods are saved for another generation. I wish it a great success so it provides for all the dedicated geeks keeping this weird little cultural niche alive. Thanks for the great tour!
What an awesome arcade! Wish I lived in Texas, I would love to check this place out. WOW, they even have the original Punch-Out! Another favorite I see is Taito's Battle Shark. Its nice to see arcades seeing somewhat of a revival in America.
I didn't see the space game I played in college, don't remember the name. I think it was sort of like Space Invaders but it also had this button that you could press a few times per play, a big green ship appeared that wiped out all the remaining enemies and helped you get to a bonus play. It was the only video game I ever played, pretty much. Wish they had it.
30 year old arcade! Watch: ruclips.net/video/aZxqJYuMjVQ/видео.htmlsi=fMIS6QOmHaTsxk8C
^^^ This guy Brett knows his stuff.
@ Thank you!

He's a workaholic.
He seems to enjoy everything he is doing
Just found out this is about 5 minutes from my house. I will definitely be coming by. Thanks for the video because I didn't know just how nice a place this is on the inside. Great job8-bit guy!
Lucky you! So jealous! Go play man!
If I was local, I'd visit once a week I reckon.
The 8-Bit guy is one of the most respected RUclips personalities good to see that his arcade finally opened
Those machines are CLEAN! Thanks for the tour
they have videos showing all of the restoration work they've been doing for two years leading up to the arcade opening up.
Yes! This collection is gorgeous!
I have never seen an arcade with machines all in that good of condition and working order. Omega Race! Terrific.
They even set up their own repair shop there, I dont think any other arcade would do that
You can't look trough the glass. Maybe they could add some big posters outside to show how it looks inside. Cos many people don't even know what an "Arcade" is.
I'm amazed at the range of customers there. Really cool to see people of all ages playing the classics.
I think this looks like an awesome arcade! I really hope that it does well. I’ve seen some of the videos of The 8-Bit Guy helping refurbish some of the arcade cabinets and he put in a lot of work.
I don't live in the US but I hope I can find a place like this near me. Seems a really fun way to spend a weekend afternoon
I wanted to play a game I loved in the 80s called Exciting Hour so badly I would have flown to Texas to play it, but thanks to some inspiration from 8 Bit Guy, instructions from Geek Pub and a sale on the raspberry pi, I built one.

Awesome! Everything looks great. It takes a lot of effort to accomplish something like this. Can’t wait to come down and visit.
We Love Electric Starship!!! Cannot wait to try out the new location :)🎉❤😊
He must have a big chunk of his home equity invested in that. Bigger balls than lions.
Trust me, this man has MONEY. To even consider something like this I can assure you he is fine in terms of money lol
the quality of the cabinets and mechanics are amazing.
I am building a half-scale Tron. I may have to come visit
The best part is these are all fully restored to basically brand new.
The greatest challenge to me is keeping the pins maintained and working well.
Superb line up and it's all so well laid out, thank you for the tour
Wow, it has everything i would want to play if I ever visit my cousin who lives in Texas, that would be my first stop
Nice tour!! You sound like Mr. Garrison from South Park lol
Lol
mmmm k
Great to see a classic arcade in action! Looks great.
I used to live in Hurst, TX just next door to Bedford! To bad I am not still there! Wow, a whole lot of Arcades! Yay for Robotron 1984!! One of my favorites. Tied w/ Defender (and Stargate). Ohh.. We have a Retro Racoons as well!
My hometown!!😄 STARGATE!
What a fantastic arcade great video Brett thanks ❤😊
Thank you!
Awesome arcade but no Paperboy??? The greatest arcade game of all time!!
Very nice selection of games, quite big site too!.. but an arcade needs blacklight, dark atmosphere and no full glass wall with daylight imho. Love to visit sometime!
Love seeing arcades pop up in local towns….. hope they make a comeback and survive 🫡🇺🇸
That Donkey Kong cabinet at 6:14 is special because it was used in the court battle with Billy Mitchell. 😀
All the luck! We opened a similar business over 20 years ago and lasted 18 years. Hope you guys didn't open at the wrong time. The economy isn't great right now. :(
This place looks awesome! I could spend an entire day there and never get bored! ❤
We all need more places like this, arcades are the best to hang out with friends and have fun, I wish the best luck for the owners, 👾
My friend owned a similar place, that was also a bar. Did great for 2 years, then COVID killed it. It was sad.
These bring back memories of the arcade at the swimming pool in the 80s. We couldn't afford to play and had to pretend we were playing the demos. How much do arcade credits cost in the US these days? @@voodoomotion5855 Games are on Freeplay. $ 12 to enter
Needs Outrun to nail that 80s vibe.
Double axel had a sit down 2 player version at my local arcade it was awesome.
Pac-Man arcade was amazing, I went all the time.

I just hope after eating people wash their hands before touching the joysticks!
I've only seen the barcade route up to now and while understandable I can't say I'm happy that arcades only seem viable if they also serve liquor. Not to mention the smell of (spilt) alcohol while playing an arcade.
I plan on visiting very soon , thanks for the video.
I will definitely check this place out. Electric Starship is awesome too!
1:25 Attack of the Petscii robots, the arcade version
Wow, that place looks amazing, and takes me back to my childhood. I wish I could visit there one day.
Nice, very cool. Here in the DFW area we are blessed with several arcades where you pay 12-20.00 and play all day for free. A few have 100s of cabs. Crazy...
So glad to see so many classics, and one of my all time favorites Xybots was there too!
Thanks for filming and posting! I was quite pleased to see the computer gaming section, being able to play classic games on original hardware was a surprise I did not expect. Looks like a really fun place!
It looks great but it's so bright in there. I like when arcades go for the old school feel. Great selection of games!
Wow, I can't believe it's only $12 for that many games. I would have expected like $20 per hour.
Really enjoyed the arcade tour! Thanks. :)
Thanks for watching!
EVerything is so clean and working!!! Nice job!
Do.
wow.. I didn't know it is open. thanks for video. I will stop by :)
That looks really cool
Finally! I won’t have to drive an hour to play HydroThunder!
If you could add a place to lock up bikes that would be great.
Amazing collection of games!
Dallas FW has a plethora of great arcades with freeplay sharing the spotlight for best in the area. I will definitely make a visit.
That place not only has arcade games, but console & computer games as well!
Quite the place. 😁
There has been several free-play arcades that have come and gone in my neck of the woods. They just never can stay in business that long.
That place looks awesome! I hope it really does well for itself!! Please keep us posted.
Looks fantastic!!
Heck no $12 day pass I would of be there every weekend. We have one here that started $15 day now it's $25 a day pass.
I think they also have a $20 monthly pass, too.
WOW. I wish this was in Atlanta. It seems to only be missing Satan's Hollow and Crazy Climber. I'm so jealous that you can go there on the way to work.
Super cool. They need a Colecovision with a modern controller. That system is so good.
Agree!
Looks amazing. I would love something like this in NZ
Awesome - Rad selection! I played so many of these when I was a kid. I'm so glad my parents were generous with the quarters on pizza night. The background music for RallyX still is stuck in my head to this day. Maybe they will find a SiniStar machine someday? "Beware I Live!"
It would be cool if they added Defender and Asteroids. Or maybe I missed them in video.
I saw they had asteroids.. Not sure about defender.. Definitely had Galaga too.
Wow, this looks amazing! What a great selection of games, including several favorites from the late 80s. Hopefully I can make it from Indiana down to Dallas sometime in the near future.
3:55 I just got Bamboozled trying to figure out Qix.
Freakjng awesome! Must get there soon!!

Wow this looks FANTASTIC! much better than some of the other arcades in the area! Can't wait to check it out :)

I've seen 8-bit Guy's videos, and I find it interesting that he opened up an arcade.
Love the deep cut knowledge in this video!
Thank you!
$12 for a day of free play is so reasonable. I wish we had something like this in my city.
Double Axel is great lots of content and intense steering rumble. I had some good memories of being wiped of quarters at the state fair by Robocop.
I'm thankful that these reminders of our collective childhoods are saved for another generation. I wish it a great success so it provides for all the dedicated geeks keeping this weird little cultural niche alive. Thanks for the great tour!
Great selection
Good ole fashion arcade. Glad it is still around.
What an awesome arcade! Wish I lived in Texas, I would love to check this place out. WOW, they even have the original Punch-Out! Another favorite I see is Taito's Battle Shark. Its nice to see arcades seeing somewhat of a revival in America.
I'd love to visit this arcade! I used to play the Namco arcade games on a plug and play device. They were my favorites when I was seven.
Nice to see the comeback of arcades, hope more will open up!
Beautiful arcade. David and company did a fantastic job.
9:28 Aww, thought it was the stormtrooper 😮💨
Impressive collection of arcades. I would love to visit this location!!!

Burger Time? Check! Robotron 2084? Check! Wizard of Wor?! 🤯🤯🤯
Very polished arcade, extremly well executed
Oh man, this isn't too far! I'm gonna go check it out for sure :)
Xybots has been a favorite play of mine lately the Atari Lynx version 😊
Great tour and great commentary! David is a cool dude. Definitely going to check out the arcade when im in Dallas for work next month.
Thanks, have fun!
