Indian movies are translated in Russian (like not only subtitles, but voice as well) even these old movies from 1980s , and everyone knows it and these movies are very popular in all of countries that were part of the Soviet Union . You can't even *imagine* how popular this movie is in those places. I remember this movie when I was a kid, and even my dad remembers this movie when *he* was a kid, this came out in 1980s and my dad was born in 1980 . If you ask someone about India- this for real has to be the first thing that rings a bell for them. Even if they don't watch Indian cinema, for sure they recognize this one.

The reason why so many Russian-speaking fans here is because for several years the Soviet Union was showing Indian films in the Soviet-allied part of the world to promote communication and cooperation between India and those countries. The Indian and Soviet studios also made movies together. It was a part of policy to build a firm bloc of socialist countries.

The reason why so many Russian-speaking fans here is because for several years the Soviet Union was showing Indian films in the Soviet-allied part of the world to promote communication and cooperation between India and those countries. The Indian and Soviet studios also made movies together. It was a part of policy to build a firm bloc of socialist countries.
