Great video have done a similar thing myself Wales to London. There's nothing like the feeling of being free focusing on getting to your destination and with everything else not mattering
September 2022 4 of us cycled from Dieppe to Paris and back. We stayed in Versaille rather than Paris but we spent a day cycling through Paris which is now very cycle-friendly. We cycled most of the way on the L’Avenue Verte.
Wow! So as novice tourers you set off with 140km on your first day?? This is a lovely video but I do hope you prepare better for your next trip. Live and learn.😊
To cycle 140km on the first day! What a respect! I think that's commendable to just go for it like that. I'm sure they will earn more experience over time but there's no better way to live and learn! Better than 0km am I right !? Haha. Have a good one Duncan, all the best
Yeah, lots of learning was done indeed. We like to set big challenges and try to smash them. Go hard or go home. Hope you will be watching our London to Bangkok videos 💪👍
Great video, looked like an awesome adventure. Cars coming on to the Arc de Triomphe have right of way, for future note :) scary roundabout, have done it a couple of times on motorcycle. Where's your next cycling destination?
London -> Portsmouth -> st malo -> Paris …. Just chucked in a cycling route into Google maps. Komoot is a good cycling app - we have learned this on our London to Bangkok trip. Search “what to pack bicycle touring on RUclips” but think for yourself too. Don’t need everything people say
What did you use for navigation? Google maps or is there a gpx file available on internet of this route? I would like to do this route with few mates next summer
Don't understand why you went Portsmouth to St Malo? Why not Newhaven to Dieppe and take the train from Victoria in London down to Newhaven. The station is right next to DFDS terminal. Then the ride from Dieppe is an easy 2-3 day ride to Paris. The guy in the blue mac looked to be riding a bike that was far too small for him. I guess it was an experience to learn from.
Agreed. Fascinating though this video is, to a regular touring cyclist the apparent lack of planning is amazing. I am only 9 minutes in and at this point it looks unlikely that they will get to Paris!
@@duncanrhodes4778It appears that they paid a visit to their kin en route through France, which I surmise is the rationale behind their passage through St. Malo. The path via St. Malo is truly splendid, and I quite fancy this deviation from the conventional route commonly traversed by ordinary tourists. I derived immense pleasure from this content, and now they are pedaling their way towards Bangkok, whereupon we shall witness their progression with keen interest.

Google maps, but I’d recommend kommute app
I need to get myself a passport in order to do this. I'm hoping to do Ipswich to Paris come 2024, for charity.
Good luck 💪
