I have a 97 f250 7.3 and I only averaged 14 mpg even strictly on the highway and no towing. It only has 108,000 miles.

Hard to believe now, but when the 7.3 powerstroke was first introduced, it had a lot more get up and go than the old 7.3 IDI and the 6.9. My dad had a 6.9 f250, the local ford dealer got in a 7.3 powerstroke 5spd, we went and test drove it and were blown away by the power. He bought that truck, it was the only one in the area.
My dad had a truck just like this it was four-wheel-drive. It was black, but he always towed a big gooseneck camper trailer he tow it from Ohio Cincinnati to Daytona speedway it always did it and always came back. We did also have a couple problems with the four-wheel-drive but I’d sure do miss my dad‘s old truck.
I love the new 7.3! I wish you post everyday about it I would watch all of them

I have a 7.3 we are doing a full stage two build on. Headers 68mm turbo built transmission, all kinda stuff. We should link up! Big fan of the channel

I love my 7.3 when you get to upgrades stick 180/30 injectors and a kc stage 1 .84 A/R for a good daily driver / tow rig. If you want to play a little harder go with 205/30 injectors with a kc stage 2 that setup will put you close to 475hp with a fuel system intake and exhaust. Ive got the 180/30s stg1 kc and its a absolute blast to drive and tows like crazy. I originally had the stg3 turbo and 205/80s and it was hot and smokey and sucked at towing but pretty quick.
I'm from Australia and we don't have these kind of trucks. Yet i find this interesting as!

why am i so jealous of him lmao, these OBS 7.3 i've been looking at in cross country dealership are expensive
if your trans is acting funny at all get the PSOM module rebuilt and check the vss on the rear diff. Thought i blew mine up but turned out to be the PSOM needing rebuilt. crazy part about it is it shifted perfectly fine then out of nowhere it went nuts slamming into gears and dropping into neutral

I have an e99 7.3 superduty. Thing tows amazing. I pull a 32 foot 5th wheel no problem up and down any mountain or road ever. It has 33 inch rough terrains, an ignorant mod from the previous owner.. hot cold air, and straight pipe. Keep good batteries in it and don't let the diesel gel and she'll start every. Single. Time. Mine pulls amazing

My grandpa had a 2WD long bed version growing up
One of the best trucks in my lifetime to own. I drive it from Cypress to ETX all the time. You think that’s something. Wait until you upgrade it. I get 25 mpg since I’ve upgraded mines. 19-20 when hauling hay. And i get more head turning & stops in my 7.3 vs the 6.7
I took my 99 7.3 from Amarillo-dallas-college station-iola-new caney(picking up 30ft bumper pull trailer 7k lbs)-iola(back and forth to college station building something for my parents and spending time together)-back to Amarillo. Didn’t have any issues at all with my truck one bit and on my way back to the panhandle I think it was I calculated around 17-18mpg with certain things added to fuel plus mods done
I hope you get a 6.4 one day, I’d love to see what you’d do to it

My old boss has one if you delete them the work good fast as hell with just intake exhaust and a tune terrible gas mileage tho
I can assume itd go like this:
1. Buy it and drive it home and make a video.
2. Motor throws a rod, spins a bearing, develops a knock, oil starts growing from fuel or coolant, needs a front cover, cracks a piston/‘s, turbo failure, rocker arm tips break off, radiator starts leaking, one of those
3. Makes a video about why he sold his 6.4

Also if you put a LED bulb in your third brake light, or let the incandescent bulb burn out your trans/converter will act broken and you’ll get a flashing dash light.
I don't run my tanks below 1/4. previous owner had issues with the sending unit breaking running it to E. bounces too much

You need to get a stock 6.4… do a delete and small tune and compare it to the 6.0. You will be impressed. And along as you do good maintenance it will be fine. I will definitely buy some merch to get you closer to being able to buying one!!!!

My 6.9 non turbo with 3.08 gears gets around 22mpg without an overdrive transmission
huge difference between the 2wd and 4x4 ride quality. the 4x4 has front swing shackles compared to the superduty rear swing shackles.
My 7.3 has never seen above 12 haha. All new injectors as well, my e99 with a manual got 17 religiously though

I do want to say that this is the 94.5 to 97 7.3 witch makes 210hp and the later years make 275hp
I have a 96 F250 ZF5, and a 1996 F350 Dually e40d. I’ve modified the shit out of the F250, and as a result I believe I have finally cracked a piston in it.
If you want good quality headlights buy from Tony Rojo. He operates bajahidretrofits, and most of his business is 92-96 F series/ bronco. I have the Mled 2.0’s and they’re killer.
My 99 7.3 gets 18 mpg 4x4 373 gears automatic

It's not a super duty 7.3 so hard to compare the 2 sometimes when your Explaining yah know being it's an obs and non intercooled. But still cool non the less . Wich you could gotten another super duty 7.3 ❤
I don’t know how in the world you found one In that good of shape for that price. In east Tx that’s a 12k minimum. I’ve been searching the world over and at the price they are all junk around here.

@@powerstrokecentral but 9 mpg? That’s outrageous I’ve only gotten 12 when I get lucky. I’ve never been crazy with the pedal when I try and calculate the mileage. And it’s like 8.7 or 9 all the time.
