Nice Landings! This plane is so damn hard to land. I fly in an area with 1 runway and often times have crosswinds. I can grease em in all day with the Avanti and Viper. Trying to land this on a short runway with a crosswind is a nightmare because when you use the rudder it wants to roll. Hopefully my new jp brakes with gyro will help landing faster...
Takes some getting used to. but in general just remember not to come in too slow with an F18. Brakes would be great. on final I just focus on managing descent and try to keep the nose up. Feather the throttle in case the wings start to rock. helps to come from a glide slope onto the runway. i dont like long approaches. really hard to tell how much speed its carrying from further out.
It might lessen the yaw. As I have never used gyro, I just learned to add in the rudder. I have an old F22 made of wood and it was a dog to fly on aileron and not feeding in the rudder.
I've flown several EDF foam jets. The headaches of doors on the gear, the cost and weight of batteries. The cost to own. Foamies have their allure, but technical problems and foam models loosen up over time. Traditional construction models are more serviceable and last longer on the field. The best solution to modeling fighter jets lies in Composites and scale sizes of 1/5, 1/6, or thereabout. Short flights since fans consume battery packs so quick. I love jets, but the technical drawbacks are notable.
EDFs have their issues. Shorter fights are the main problem. With those batteries being more expensive. Years ago I did quite a bit of testing and videos RC planes, so I have a very large collection of RC planes.
I like the FMS F-18 80mm better , nice scale gear and really a nice flying jet . The freewing gear look funny , maybe cause it has trailing links on it
@@all_rc Well as you may know or not, FMS dropped Horizon. FMS is selling from there site and Fair RC . I believe the Eflite version has been discontinued
I think that full flaps prevents air from flowing over the elevator correctly resulting in instability.
You are CORRECT, SIR!
Elevator to flap mix ? Nice flight
I haven't had any trouble with the gear doors on mine. We only have 350 feet of runway, so I land with full flaps if there isn't much wind..
When you say that it wiggles using flat position too, does it have a Gyro? Wouldn’t the Gyro help adjust for that?
Try heavier springs on the doors.

I agree.. The rudder moves the hole plane sideways..Need to put a little bank in to be able to controll it in landing.
Can you post the missile rail thingyverse link please?

There is a fantastic missile file as well. Just search Freewing and scroll through. I have them on my F18 and my F16. Fantastic files.
I get confused on those ordinance files.. Doesnt say what scale its for.
@@all_rc This one is listed specifically for the Freewing 90mm F18.
🙏 Sick bro. Thanks!
Wonder if a gyro on rudders will stop that yaw sensitivity.

And absolutely worth it.

Been waiting for Horizon to restock for months. Hopefully they get some in in time for the Holidays.

Wow! Will check it out. Thanks for the tip! 🙏
Painted that landing!
freewing really need to come out with 70mm or 80mm super hornet!
would love a 90mm Super as well! 🙏
The FMS 70mm Super Hornet is really awesome tho. Check out our video on it.
Don't use flaps and it lands much easier
To me freewing best $ for your money. U can always modify plys fms 80mm not for 700$ 😅
