- 200 vs Y62 on a steep little hill climb, 200 gets pants time and time again. But full credit to the owners as they were 1 of only 2 200s that took up the challenge against the y62s, as last yrs battle they absolutley crushed the 200s and none others had the balls to take them on...

It was diffing out... if he hit it hard he would of broken something! The solid axle is a big disadvantage in clearance 👍

This has nothing to do with toyota or nissan. What anti slip differential are in the two vehicles? Front, rear and center fully locked? What are the tyres like? Dimensions or the vehicles in terms of gripping the trail? LC vs Patrol means nothing until you analyze the features, both vehicles are equally capable in my view when equipped in comparison
It's all about having diff locks. The y62 has a factory rear locker but the 200 series doesn't. Also it depends upon the driver since many y62 owners were struggling up that slope. Both are great rigs otherwise.

I would love to see the VK built into a Throphy truck tbh, would be cool to see if it can handle the Baja 1000. So far we know that the LS 3 Chevy V8 or any LS series for that matter can handle some serious punishment. I got a feeling this VK56 would be awsome also. Just wish I could see it happen. Just too many comments from RUclips experts. if you watch closely the Nissan patrol tyres are under inflated. For better traction in mud you reduce the tyre pressure. That's how we survive here in africa.
The landcruisers tyres were deflated too. That's why it rolled off the bead for a short second.
Both are great cars , in my country Nissan v8 comes with 400 HP which breaks all law of physics.

Crawl control decreases your speed and limits the rev limit , which means no momentum ! For this you need momentum ! Crawl control helps to recover when you are stuck in sand loose sand or sunk in slush ! It also helps in climbing boulders !

You realise crawl control reduces the the rev limit to 3000 revs and decreases the speed of the vehicle to somewhere near 10mph ! It only helps in recovering from loose sand heap and deap slush and in order to climb over rocks and boulders ! This particular slope shown in the clip is iced with a huge heap of mud and in order to get over it , momentum ,traction and even clearance is needed ! The Patrol is equipped with better TC followed by 282mm of GC thanks to all independent suspension ! Momentum wise , both are descent!

This is shot on a different day, it's a completely different traction surface when comparing a rainy day to a rain soaked surface. My own vehicle had no problem going up a similar hill when it was pouring rain, came back a week later on a sunny day and couldn't get halfway. Exact same vehicle, nothing changed other than the surface. Y62 is pretty good but that's not a good comparison

Didn't you see that about 7 Patrols went up that hill while it was raining? Watch towards the end of the video.
@@myytchannel6632 you must not have read what I wrote properly or your eyes might have a problem. Big difference between raining on the day and having a go after that rain has soaked in. I've experienced the same issue, no problem in the pissing rain, went back a week later and the exact same track was a thousand times less tractive.
Toyota land cruiser is no 1 no matter what Nissan do ... Those people try convince others that nissan is better than Toyota, but take it from me I used both cars for quite some time and I know what I am talking about.. Nissan is good for 2 to 3 years then problems start like overheating (specially in hot regions like here.. Dubai) a/c is not cold like toyota, interior color faded, some complain about weak frame and very thin sheet metal.
@@aesa3628 nissan only have two good vehicles and the y62 is one of them. They are a great buy for the money and have plenty of grunt etc. The cruiser is a heap more cash but not as good off road in standard form, as you say, the parts around the body and interior always lasted on the toyota and the cooling system is proven.

Its not a fair comparison, the Cruiser has the slowest twin turbo V8 in history plus doesn't have lockers from factory. I think they should have used a Cruiser that has 50k worth of mods to compare and probably found a stock Y62 to even it up a bit more
It's the same even in a drag race patrol will beat the LC. Too overpriced.
Actually there isn't any need for 50k worth mods. It just needs a rear diff lock. 650nm of torque is just more than what the y62 produces that too at a higher rpm band.

Only 1 LC didn't made it up the hill. Maybe he/she forgot to switch terrain feature on the vehicle.

If you're a Patrol fan, that's fine, but conduct a proper comparison with many different obstacles. I can also go dig out many other videos to the contrary. Big v8 petrol patrol. Only thing better is a supercharged y62. I can see the appeal of a landcruiser for towing a horse box or something but I can see the appeal of a v8 supercharged petrol patrol for smoking the competition but only if your a competive person😄

Bullshit. Patrol has better power to spin wheels with the petrol v8. Plus better clearance thanks to the independent suspension. Also stronger driveline.
@@gadgetphilosophy8290 do a few river crossings in the petrol patrol and see how it likes it. They sound unreal the y62s but, they aren't in the same league in terms of quality as the landcruisers

A Patrol’s engine life is considered to be not more than 3 years in the toughest desert conditions of Middle-east, where as LCs last 6-7 years without any issues ! Hahahaa..
Land cruiser guy knows how to drive but his front bumper or skid plate keeps hitting from underneath ( you can hear it ) when going up and that’s bad, he didn’t go backwards and gave it more momentum as he already knows the experience might be more nervous to break it even further..
Let's All go out and buy the Patrol...

I think may be tyres/diff not engagaed cud be anything. Coz landcruiser seem to loose traction why petrols have all the traction they need.

Am pretty sure the landcruser can chew through that seemlessly but you guys didn't activate all its 4wd capabilities...maybe it was left in 2 wheel drive mode....
There is no 2WD mode in the LC200. Permanent 4WD.
@@monstereisa It is all wheel drive all the time, yes, but you still need to activate the 4wd mode to lock the centre diff other wise it can actually be worse than a 2wd in that situation.
