I just made these gloves to go with the hat. I will be making more of these. thank you for sharing this. it's fun to watch you crochet. I love learning new things.
I love this pattern. Simple stitches to make a great result. I did make a change tho, I found that with some fiddley yarns like Loops and Threads “Facets”, it was too hard to start the picot round right into the foundation chain, so I chained the 24 flat, let it open, then single crocheted across, and THEN I slipped stitch into the top of the that single crochet round to connect into the round, and THEN I started the picot. It made a nicer even bottom, so I didn’t have to come back and single crochet back into the glove, and it made it so much easier to start … 😊 Thanks for the great tutorial.
I am planning on making these for my mom for Christmas. She mentioned wanting some last year I believe I can make these and I am working on the shawl of yours too. Again Jayda thank you I just love all your tutorials you make everything so easy.
Jayda you rock !!! your tutorials are so clear , you are a fantastic teacher , the amount of tutorials on you tube that is not clear and is impossible to follow is untold! however i found yours and top marks , loving these gloves , i intend to plough though all yr tutorials and yr cheerful, so it’s always such a pleasure Thank You 😊 ❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😊❤️👏👏👏
I just finished the hat today and was thinking 'heh...I need gloves'. Then I saw your video :D. I love this little stitch! Thanks so Much Jayda for sharing!
Hi Michelle! We also have a Falling Leaves Fingerless Gloves tutorial you can check out (if you haven't already) here: ruclips.net/video/Vys3q0n5Yt8/видео.html
The fingerless gloves are lovely. I think you choice of yarn colour is perfect for autumn. We have spring time with all the gorgeous blossoms out but it's still a little chilly some days and some nights Thank you for the great tutorial. Kindest regards from Australia 🐨🇦🇺
I LOVE this and will be making it! I knit and I'm curious making these without a circular needle! Can not wait!!! They don't sell these in the stores much anymore....the gloves.
Hello Jayda! Cute gloves! If I wanted to change the primrose stitch to a double crochet stitch is that possible? I want the gloves to go with the scarf I made as a gift
Hi Jedi, yes! You would just follow the same instructions but use dc for every row instead. When you get to the thumb row, skip 5 sts, ch 3 and continue with your dc. When you get to the next row, you'll want to work 5 sts into those 3 chains (however you like) to get your stitch count back to normal :)
Hi, can I ask you something, I've crocheted a British king size bed blanket, I just want to know do I have to block it, and if I do where can I let it dry, don't have enough floor space, and my table is not big enough, also can I put in washer on a cold wool wash please
Hi Deborah! You only need to block the blanket if you feel the edges are really uneven, curling or rippling (in which case you want them to lie flat). If it's all laying flat, then you don't need to block it. If you DO need to block it, then steaming pieces (it will likely just be the edges that need it) of it at a time on the floor would be helpful (on towels) and that way it won't be really damp. You can them cover your bed in towels or strip it completely and cover it with a sheet and lay it over your bed to dry in the drape that it will naturally get lying on your bed. Chances are, the weight of the blanket will stretch out the tight areas over time with use. For washing instructions, be sure to consult with the labels of the yarn you used - not all fibers or yarns are happy in the washing machine or are temperature sensitive :)
I love this project. But I use baby soft yarn which as you know is smaller so I put 4 single stitches instead of 2 It was a accident but I liked it so I have done it for 2 pair I made them for wearing inside the house Do you have a pattern for a headband/ear warmers.
Hi Faye, using the same foundation chain count formula to work in the round, but to make one that fits around your head instead, you can make a headband using this pattern. We made a headband using the Falling Leaves headband in the same manner here: ruclips.net/video/vg0JFADPoUQ/видео.html
Hi! This pattern is on the stretchy side, so you may not need to change it much. You can use a larger hook and a slightly thicker yarn that we've used for a slightly larger size. The wrist should be around 6" to 6.5" in circumference.
Aside from number of rows I would need, could I use double crochet stitches instead of single crochet for row 1, 3, 5 etc. Would that affect the pattern much?
Hi! Yes, it would change the pattern completely - if you're going for speed, you might prefer our shell stitch fingerless gloves pattern instead :) ruclips.net/video/h9N9nWDIcKY/видео.html Or our Fan Stitch fingerless gloves here: ruclips.net/video/QbCWzJUxfac/видео.html
I have the Bernat baby blanket tiny (velvet- wildflowers color) cant find any crochet stitch that looks good for a blanket - the yarn is soft and flattens so much that the stitch pattern just seems to get lost. Does anyone have a baby blanket pattern for this yarn that looks good?
Hi Yasmine, be sure to keep an eye on your stitch count! Generally, when making a scarf, every row should be exactly the same as the last. If youre stitch count is fine, then it might be your tension is too tight - upsizing to a larger hook will help that :)
Hi! Not specifically, but we have a tutorial on how to work the pattern back and forth (pattern info in the description box of that video) here: ruclips.net/video/Z0XnRilveM4/видео.html
Hi Jayda! Made a pair of these to go with the primrose hat, and as usual were easy, fun and lovely. I have one question. Do you think this could be started with the Single crochet chainless foundation stitch?🤔 I’m not that familiar with it, but it looks nice and sturdy. Thanks!
Hi Mango, You could certainly build this stitch in the round on a row of foundation sc, but in this pattern it would look funny because you still have to add the row of sc along the bottom when the glove is finished - this is for sturdiness and a nice finish. Beginning with a row of sc or even foundation sc would still leave you with exposed foundation chains along the bottom :)
Can you please help me I do not get the thumb right and all my children (5) are waiting for the gloves.😥. I am in Latin America and we are a missionary family
Hi Kadyja, you don't say what your trouble is, but you don't have to add the thumb part to the gloves if you don't want to. Otherwise, all you need to do is work 4 shells in the first row and continue with the Primrose pattern as normal :)
I just made these gloves to go with the hat. I will be making more of these. thank you for sharing this. it's fun to watch you crochet. I love learning new things.

awesome looking

Could you join with a single crochet when you finish off around the bottom of the fingerless gloves rather than with a slip stitch?
Hi Christina, yes you certainly can, but you might see a space or "jog" there between the first and last sc (give it a try and see what you think :)
Love it! But, I have a problem whenever I try to make a scarf but it always rounds up into a circle.
Hi Yasmine, be sure to keep an eye on your stitch count! Generally, when making a scarf, every row should be exactly the same as the last. If youre stitch count is fine, then it might be your tension is too tight - upsizing to a larger hook will help that :)

Hi Kathleen, it's a little picot stitch :) I like to use various kinds of picots to finish off flat edges, gives them a little interest!
