brilliant wish I had those sounds. You can work out the notes chords and melodies but without those original (or close to) sounds it sounds flat. Depeche had a supernatural intuition in knowing what sounds to program and use in any given segment. Thanks enjoyed that.

I'd say it's a collective work. Martin had some ideas for some sounds as well along with some producers. But I think Alan was the real genius behind DM sound. We also have to remember that DM sampled a lot of things to create their sound, even in Violator there's a lot of sampling.
@@rj8mp Ultra, though arguably inferior, also had some genius sound and Alan was not there. I think the main factor of genius in DM was Martin being on his prime of composition skills.
@@dmfancovers you should add a "Layer" to your channel rack. Then assign your instruments to that "Layer". Finally, assign that "Layer" to a midi channel on your keyboard. Repeat the process with every layer you have/need. Then everytime you change the midi channel on your keyboard you're actually switching between layers :)

I use VST's. Korg M1, Kontakt (Emu Emax library), FM7 & Dexed (DX7 emulations), Arturia's Synclavier, Korg Polysix. TAL UNO among others.

How to program preset switch on keyboard?
That depends on your keyboard and your DAW. In my case I'm using FL Studio 20.
@@rj8mp im using m audio oxygen and using fl studio 21 too. Just no idea how to make the bank switch
