Our instincts as parents are to care for and protect our children, and that is a good thing. But sometimes, this instinct can become a destructive force. It can consume us mentally and emotionally and it can cloud our judgment. It can hurt us as parents, damage relationships and ultimately it can hurt the children we are trying to help.
