  • ⬇️ Sleep Apnea Surgery- depends on where the obstruction is:
    1- 👃🏼Nose
Turbinate Reduction, nasal valve collapse (ex Vivaer) implants, septoplasty
    2- 👄Upper Pharynx
Surgery on the uvula, palate and/or pharynx, UPPP
    3- 👔Lower Pharynx
Tonsillectomy, tongue reduction, hyoid suspension, epiglottopexy, mandibular advancement, tongue nerve stimulator (ex: Inspire, Livanova)
The correct surgery for each person depends on where their obstruction is.
Non-surgical options (that also help tremendously): CPAP, weight loss, decreased/stop smoking and/or alcohol, allergic rhinitis control, stop sedatives or tranquilizers

My husband has been in the military for twenty years and counting, and was diagnosed with sleep apnea a few years ago, after YEARS of me urging him to speak to a doctor due to his snoring, flailing fits where he startles and strikes out in his sleep (I’ve been elbowed in the face a time or two 😅), and episodes where he would scare me because he would just STOP breathing… He’s one of the few who is in full compliance, and he sleeps with his CPAP every night, even when we travel…
    And let me tell you!
It has made a WORLD of difference!
