Idk if this is weird, but it’s cute to me that Luke basically broke into Lorelai’s house because she called him crying even though they were broken up.
What are you expecting? He didn’t stop loving her but the fact that he’s like I realized I fixed all of the hazards to get in your place so I made a new one. I’ll fix it tomorrow.
Agreed. However I don't think his intention was to actually break up with her though. When she says something about him being her exboyfriend he seems a bit shocked and upset. But either way, broken up or not, Luke would still always show up if Lorelai needed him, which is exactly why she called him.

i love the fact that a working class diner owner makes a rich boy jealous. luke and lorelai belonged to each other. i don't count "a year in the life" as canon. that was fucking unwatchable except for emily saying "bullshit". fan fiction did better as one of them had luke and lorelai get married in the 9th season and have a child and then get a new house in the 10th season for the family.

Precisely. All the people whining about season 7, how it's not ASP, etc, have no taste or got brainwashed by their love for an icon. Almost a decade after the show, people were still clamoring for more of the series. A year after the sequel, no one talks about it anymore and ASP's plan for s2 is dead in the waters. She treated it as a revenge project for her original vision. No growth for the characters. All for four stupid words. When you hinge a show for supposedly a shock twist ending, you render everything else before it meaningless.
Contrast that with season 7. A woman who broke up a marriage was back to the town's favorite child. A couple that was always right for each other got back together and literally sang their love for each other. A will-they-won't-they relationship was tried and finally found wanting. Everyone was redeemed. To the extent they didn't give everything fans wanted, like a wedding (that would last), it was only because they were hoping to be renewed.

The writer(ASP)’s ego ruined her own show. It really sucks because before the reboot I always watch Gilmore Girls but after the fiasco I don’t and I can’t. You know it’s like why bother.
I actually buy these two as a couple. Like, really buy it. And that’s because of fabulous directing, writing, performances, actor investment and character work. For all its problems, 👏🏻👏🏻 Gilmore Girls forever for THIS.

I’ve been binging these vids cause I don’t have time with finals to binge the whole show right now, and it didn’t hit me how profoundly sad for Lorelai the crying in bed scene was until I saw all these scenes strung together. They’re titled “Luke being in love with Lorelai for x mins” and that’s right, but her character arc is so involved with not being able to let anyone in, not wanting to trust anyone to be vulnerable or let them take care of her, and then she *does* with Luke. And when that’s broken, so is she 💔
