- We play around some more with the BeamNG Drive Multiplayer mod, as i try to survive a 15 minute car chase, which is much easier said than done.

Allow the Police to use their mini-map and then use the whole of the map rather than limit yourself to the city. Would love to see the environmennt changes rather than just looping around the same streets.
They could probably do it without minimaps tbh, beam maps aren't terribly big
@@wolfgang_h3t I couldn't tell how many cops there were. It looked to be about 6 but for balancing a mini-map would help. Car mighty does these chases on the map all the time and the police get Mini map to balance as that map is quite big
@@NoxTheOverlord I believe someone suggested having 'tasks' to do, which would work better imo. Also set it apart from the carmighty vids (tbh I preferred his pre minimap hunts anyways, so I might be slightly biased)
every two minutes or so get a update by looking at mini map

If you put bigger/stickier tires on the Barstow it drives waaay better, because from what I understand the tires that come standard on all the different cars are period correct as talked about by the devs.
It's the same thing with most games, like Forza where if you get a 70s muscle car and go for all engine performance, it will be fast but it won't want to be fast, and will refuse to turn, it also helps alot to stiffen the suspension, as that will stop alot of body roll. I have a 1960s Chevy boat in Forza, and in it's stock form, with only an engine replacement surgery, it's still absolutely trash, but with the suspension, and the massive sticky slicks, And its honestly a great handling car. I've done this to some cars in beam in the past, and beam requires more roll bar tuning than Forza, and the suspension is definitely harder to tune, but it's worth the time IMO.
@@jwalster9412 the nice thing I've noticed in Beamng is you don't even have to put goofy sized tires, there's even wheel and tire combos that still look period correct.

This gave me Car Mighty vibes. loved it. Also loved how it wasn't the cops that took out FailRace in one of them. It was simply his own fault.
CarMighty is 100x the driver, this video looked like it was in slow motion.
for high speed driving i recommend turning on the steering filter in the settings, it scales down the steering input if your going fast.

@@robertjusic9097 yeah, i also played it for years until i discovered it. It makes driving with a gamepad so much easier.
It's good until you start sliding and can't correct the slide, because the filter doesn't give you enough steering angle.
@@rtf54 i thought it only limits the steering speed and not the angle, i have to test it out some more
this was brilliant fun to film, despite my framerate and ability being shaky at best :p

@@robertjusic9097 yeah. having a 6 core cpu running 7 vehicles + recording software really grinds everything to a hault. normally I'd be about 50fps, recording this was around 25 :p

You can brake smoothly in the muscle car as long as you synch the brake-pedal's travel with your speed, so if you drive quickly you should tap the brakes lightly, but as you're losing speed you can push the brake pedal progressively harder. That's how it worked before cars had ABS and it is simulated brilliantly in the BeamNG, and also adds a rewarding element of skill.
Idk if he is on kbm or not but you can't get that type of input with Kim. Its either bo brakes or 100% brake force
@@dmvelocity5181 I'm pretty sure Alex uses a gamepad for most of his driving.
I think it would be better to start in a chase, since there is no blending in (or maybe give them air support if that exists).
And the chases didn't really feel that tense, since your vehicle always outperformed them in everything, I think that gap needs to be closer, or for there to be a stark difference in Handling, and Speed.
Anyway, great seeing more chase videos ^^
I remember watching another video where they gave people chasing access to little gyrocopters but the mod for that may be outdated now.
Beam is pretty wild as the super detailed engine/model means that making planes and helicopters and stuff is completely doable and works really well despite that not being at all what the game was made for.
@@cwelch7010 a few nice aircraft mods come to mind, yeah, none are helicopters though. CessPlane, B25 Mitchell, Avro Arrow, and the Me-262. And while it's outdated now, there was an old flying Bolide mod too lol.

You REALLY need a wheel to play Beamng, it's not impossible to play with controller if you are really good with the joystick but it's less than ideal

In case you don't know him already, CarMighty has a BeamNG series pretty similar to this video here (I think he calls it "Carhunt"), so that should hopefully give you a bit more of this until Alex makes the next chase video. ;)
@@free4fire Yeah I knew CarMighty for a while and watched all of his Carhunt videos and love to see Alex also to do more of this.
I really enjoyed this. The fact that this is beamng means that any slight error could be fatal, and its nice to see the chasers actually properly stop you instead of bumbling all over each other like they normally do.

This is one of those maps in the game that doesn't take a lot of time to cover the map.
The map looks large but it's not even close to the size of the survive the hunt gta city area you normally play in.
what you can't hear in this video is how poorly us hunters did! we struggled our way though this haha
Considering how much effort Alex had to put in I can only imagine the frustration of the Hunters with the cars half smashed from jumps and over driving.

I like this! The more realistic damage and physics make Beam chases feel very different and more high-stakes than in other games.

This was amazing! Really hope to see more in the future. Maybe build some cars in automation to use as the police and getaway car?
Need to have something where he has to go somewhere to “commit a crime” then has to have some getaway criteria. Although the destruction aspect is great for sure!
The problem is Automation cars exported to BeamNG usually have a terrible damage model and the potential to blow up physics if hit in the wrong spots.
Loved all those chases, great video!
If you do more of this, I think the next map should be Italy.
This was a lot of fun to watch, big thanks to all those involved in filming it! Maybe we could have a short breakdown video/short about how Beam MP works, as i'm sure many of us watching don't know what goes on behind the scenes to set these up.
Wow! It's almost better than Survive the Hunt, which I honestly thought could not be surpassed! That was so fun to watch!
More of these in Beam, its perfect for the level of damage and the slowness of the chases is actually even better than GTA ones to watch!!

The moment at 24:56 just feels like you’re in slow motion on how the two cars are moving and the van coming at you is your adrenaline pumping and reacting to it, not to mention perfect timing of eating your words of they might have a roadblock set up

I love this idea. I'm so glad to see it be pulled off. I would suggest allowing modifications at some point without allowing drivetrain modifications.
Beam multiplayer seems alot more stable than it used to be... That's great!

You know, watching you struggle with the Barstow made me think of the D-series sport, and how easy it is to lock the brakes on that. Lo and behold, the next thing you pick is that exact car! Seeing you had modified it to have 4WD made me breathe a sigh of relief lol

This is more fun to watch than GTA5, manly because the cars can get into more funny shapes, and muscle cars have a high likely hood to combust when hit to many times from the rear.

Love beamng but if you watch Jeff F doing this sort of thing, it needs to be way more fun, maybe a mix of police cars like one is a pursuit type car, or they have a mini map on so can set traps, as was mainly more you getting bored and looking for trouble rather than the police being a threat. Can't wait to see more Beamng needs to be played more!

Back when KissMP was more active, Cops and Robbers was the best server. Word of advice: controllability is key. Having a fast car is not as useful as handling and especially easy driving under pressure. Basically a FWD car with ABS or a strong Roamer or something is generally best for balanced chases.

It's not GTA 5, but it's awesome! I love BeamNG, played and followed it off and on for years now. The car physics is a lot more bobbly, but in its own way it is a great counterpoint to highly arcade Forza, GTA, etc. (not that I'm arguing for "muh realism" -- this is just a nice and different dish to enjoy) This gives BeamNG a pretty special flavor to the Survive the Hunt chases -- those curbs matter a lot more!
I really enjoyed this one it was not just constant racing racing racing my favorite is Horst is survive the hunt or hunt the survivors or on Forza where you are chased by everybody in the world those are a lot of fun to me but I don't race as much as I used too soon thank you so much like what you do Bob from Virginia USA
Having a wheel is the key to driving old cars quickly in Beam. I have a G27 and it works fine for machines like this.
Love the Survive the Hunt videos, and the like! Always entertaining. So much so, that I watch CarMighty's Car Hunt chase video's as well. Would love to a collaborative video between the two. FailRace specializes in the Survice the Hunt on GTA5, and CarMighty specializing in CarHunt on BeamNG Multi. Would be entertaining to see the crossover.

I like how you can't drive without traction control, yet you choose to disable it.
“I’m very lost and underground” describes some terrifying situations very well
have been waiting to see you do this challenge after seeing it done elsewhere. would be good with full map and more cops. Nitro on the freeway can make for some interesting last minute escapes.

Something that helped handling in Beram for me was to set the steering axis curve to be way more logarithmic. that way you get much more fine control

Would be awesome if this camera had a rear view mirror on top too.
It’s just like CarHunt from CarMighty. Amazing! Also, I am pretty sure drifting isn’t bad in beamng. I think you could notice it with the second truck until you took a corner with too much speed to drift without hitting something.
