There's an acoustic version of this song made by the original artist, Toh Kay (lead singer/songwriter for Streetlight Manifesto)
    It's amazing as well!

I like that you guys don't constantly pause the song. It's better to listen to the whole thing and then hear your thoughts afterwards.

The instrumental beginning of this song makes me think of traditional Scottish folk music. Like I could see it being something they’ve played at certain cultural celebrations for centuries. I don’t know if that’s correct, but it gives me that vibe. I can’t really figure out what the rest of the song reminds me of. The castanets, if that’s what I’m hearing in the build ups to the chorus, do give me a Latin vibe though. They incorporate a lot of worldly musical influences in their newer stuff, so it’s hard to guess.
Yeah I’m on the “it’s not ska” side. I’d say their first couple albums would qualify as ska punk, but they’ve evolved their sound so much beyond anything ska has ever touched, and don’t include some core aspects of ska in a lot of songs. But I’ll also play both sides of the argument just to rile people up 😂 like I love pineapple on pizza, but if someone else tells me they love it, I’ll go into a whole anti-pineapple shpiel just to stir the pot. It’s so funny to watch people get heated over the littlest things like that.
