I would love to come back to Norway, and especially Alesund!

One of my favourite ports in Norway! Your video guided us away from a RCCL excursion and we opted to tour on our own. We did end up on the ‘train’ to avoid walking up the 416 steps to the mountain top (it was a great decision!). Relatively inexpensive way to tour this beautiful city!

It was one of my favorite ports as well. My husband has a jigsaw puzzle of the colorful buildings on the waterfront there, and we enjoyed getting to see it in real life.

Very nice video. We were deciding between seeing Alesund or doing the Trollstigen Tour. I think we will stick with the Alesund Tour as we wanted to see the city.

@@shirleysjourneys9505 thank you. Would you recommend to hop on hop out bus? The cruise line also has an excursion to see Alesuund. The ship excursion price is more than double the price of the hop on hop off.

Thank another excellent video. I’ve been to Alesunnd before. We rented a boat, because my husband likes to go fishing. We are going again in a couple of weeks. I’ll follow your suggestions about the hop on hop off bus and walking around town.

Hope you like the HOHO bus. If you think about it, I would love for you to come back to this video and comment with your review of the bus route and stops

I'm loving these straight forward reviews! I'll be on RC this July so loving seeing all the3 similar ports. I was thinking of doing the HOHO bus in Alesund. Were the stops that you made with the cruise ship that different from the ones that bus made? Sorry it was a little tricky reading the bus map.

Other than the brief stop at the site for the bonfire, we only stopped at the Sunnmore museum on the cruise ship tour. Then we drove through the town as he pointed out some of the sites. The HoHO did not go to the Sunnmore. It stopped at the cruise terminal, Mt. Aksla Viewpoint, Parken Culture Center (shopping), tourist information center, Art Nouveau Centere/city center, Alesund Church, and Atlantic Seapark. You can walk along the Harbor at stop 4 (tourist center) and reboard at stop 5 if you wanted a nice walk there. The fisheries Museum is not at one of the stops, but would be a few blocks away from one of the stops. felt that going to the Sunnmore Museum was a highlight of the port for me. And thanks for your positive review. I always watch youTube videos of ports we are going to visit and decided I could help others by doing some reviews myself.

It would be totally cool to see the bonfire from a cruise ship. You’ve done a great job with this video. Really good information with helpful tips. Well organized, narrated and edited.

Thank you. I appreciate the compliments and am glad you commented. I found your channel and watched your intro about your big trip. I subscribed and plan to watch them all. I love your self-description as being informers rather than influencers. That is how I see myself, too. Your bucket list itinerary is amazing! We circumnavigated Australia back in 2017 before my RUclips channel. I was keeping up with a blog back then as a personal travel journal. Shirleysjourneys.com in case you want to look it up for any ideas.

@@shirleysjourneys9505 We're totally embarrassed. That was the intro for 2022. We have finished all of those videos, and are now working on the videos for our 4 months in Norway, the Baltic and Great Britain. Do you keep up with your blog as well as doing videos. That sounds like so much work!

I don't remember how long the excursion was. We started at 8:30 AM and I think it was 3-4 hours. We purchased it from the ship, so perhaps your ship will have a similar offering. Booking a ship's excursion will assure you are back to the ship in plenty of time.

The church in this video dates back to the 13 th century and have been in continous use since.
