What a joyous piece of music. It's a pity it's not performed more often. Wonderfully played and obviously much appreciated by the audience and me as well.
My first hearing of this piece. Wonder why it's not performed often. It's delightful. Hayden, the master, has combined so many soloists & orchestra splendidly! Superbly performed too! Thanks for the post. Jamshed Delvadavala Mumbai.
Prior to hearing this work, Haydn's music left me totally cold. On hearing this work, my ears were suddenly unstopped and I became an ardent fan of Papa's wonderful music.
Ditch the ‘Papa’ bit, it acquired a pejorative meaning in the early 19th century that has plagued the composer’s reputation ever since by it’s constant careless repetition - the composer’s name is Joseph Haydn.

@@bronxboy47 Explained in an answer to an identical post elsewhere; got to say though that it’s not surprising Haydn ‘…left [you] totally cold’ saddled with such a ridiculous, patronising, and pointless moniker as ‘Papa’* which by the way, you have absolutely no right to assume the familiarity so to use. * In the musical lingua franca of the time (Italian) Papa = Pope which is only marginally less mindless than any alleged paternity,
First performed on 9 March 1792 in London and written specifically for Salomon and the English audience during his first eighteen month visit to the country, Haydn’s Sinfonia concertante has absolutely nothing to do with the Eszterhazy princes.

Hello, Sorry I did not answer you promt! Thank you very much for your words of appreciation! Unfortunately I cannot give you permission to publish the Haydn since it is material I got from Swedish Radio.. Regards/Ola
The sinfonia concertante is listed as you say with the 107 proper symphonies in the Hoboken catalogue as Hob. I:105, but it is *not* a symphony. Ditto Mozart’s two sinfonie concertanti.
