Great video. Just replaced the one in my 2006 trailblazer using this video, and it saved me a lot of money. I found it easier to take off the glovebox entirely though. It’s just held on with 3 little screws. Gives you a lot more room to move around.
Great video, thanks! Just a suggestion that helped me on my 2004 Trailblazer. After pulling the blower fan motor due to excessive noise (mine was full of paper pieces, string or what ever) a mouse nest. Don't forget to either stick your hand up in the housing or use a shop vac to get any remaining debris out of there before putting the blower fan motor back in. If there's any remaining debris and you don't clean it out, your blower fan motor will be making excessive noise again when you put it back together and start it. This happened to me! Also, I found it easier to take the glove box off completely, rather than it left dangling in the way. There are only 3 each (7 mm) bolts that holds the hinge in place. Thanks again for the video!
Just ordered the blower motor (from you guys) after watching this video. It doesn't seem nearly as daunting as I first thought. I'll keep you posted as soon as the part comes in and the job is done. Thanks!
What is the troubleshooting procedure to determine whether or not to replace the fan speed unit or the blower motor? 2005 trailblazer and can only get air through top vents while driving. fan is inop
Great Video thanks my Blower on my 2003 Trailblazer stopped working today so Might have to replace it this week its Getting cold up here in Massachusetts
Thank you for the video. This gave me self confidence to tackle the problem. Turns out my motor was not bad but plugged up from mice making a nest before winter.

this is great! I do have a few questions: 1. on that kick panel, do you know what that yellow connector is? My truck has one side of that connector but it's not connected to anything else. 2. My fan motor sounds ok and blows ok but the connector to the blower resistor has slightly melted. Is it at all possible that the fan is fault and has caused this? Thanks much!

Love you videos..They saved me a lot of money working on my 2002 trailblazer. I need advice please. I gave my trailblazer to my kid..she is learning to diy like mom but the last fix wasn't entirely successful. She started with the resister. That worked as far as getting the heat to blow. But for some reason it only blows on the floorboard near the blower. She didn't unhook any battery so I don't think it would be the CPU .... I don't love near her and winter is coming. Any help would be appreciated. DIY mom.
Thanks for the video. I found small pieces of broken plastic but mostly several pieces of a very thin grey mesh kind of insulation? So I don't know what that is, but the fan is once again quiet!!

Sir been watching your channel for some time now wanted to know what could be causing my radiator to get hot got a new thermostat a while back and just changed coolant sensor

The black plastic shell does not seem to come off of the blower motor I took out of my vehicle. Are some made where that is not removable, or am I not trying hard enough? 2006 Trailblazer
Hi I just bought a 2003 Envoy, XL the heater dosent work at all so I change the blower moter and resistor and it still wont blow at all or turn on.. I do have a vid of it and the sound
I have a 2005 Chevy trailblazer LS 4wd and the fan settings stopped working completely. I swapped out the resistor and the fan settings were working again except for the 5th fan speed but I didn’t mind as long as the other speeds were working atnd it blowed cold air. Then one day I turned the AC on and switched it to the 5th speed by accident then I switched it to 4 then 3 and it completely stopped working again. I changed the relays and fuses and still nothing. Do you think it might be the blower motor or does the ac need to be charged?
hi, I just change about the blower resistor (real easy change - $51.88 taxes in) in my '02 Envoy as the control was not working in either position 1 thru 5, the rear isn't working either, still doesn't work - so I'm thinking it now must be the blower motor ..it looks as easy to change as the resistor was, the motor itself is expensive, here in Calgary Ab
John Ambrose I’m in a similar position. After I replaced the resistor I noticed some burning on the wiring. Every forum I’ve seen says that it is the blower motor.
Okay, replaced the resistor and it still doesn't work. Checked blower fuse and it's good. On the plug to the resistor, I noticed E and G looked to be smoked, where do I go from here and what would be the easiest way besides junking the vehicle altogether? Thanx in advance.

Hello I have a trail blazer 2006 causing A/C smell after 10 minutes, someone told me to replace the A/C filter,do you know where is located? could it be a clogged drain pipe? also location of it please , appreciate it thanks Paul
It could be the blower motor resistor of the blower motor. If you started loosing your speed settings and then finally lost the air coming through the vents altogether, then it could be a bad blower motor resistor. We carry them on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
hi, I would like to know is that my 2004 Chevy trailblazer LT all w/d when I trun on either for the heat or ac and I want to change the area I want the heat or ac vent it sound that its stuck on one are only its doesn't want to change all I hear is a clicking sound
Hi, I have an Envoy XL. My air works perfectly in the front but not in my back seats. It blows air when it wants to and when it does I can't control the temp of the air or the speed. I'm assuming its either the speed controller or the fan blower resistor which I'm assuming is in the middle console. But I have no idea how to access it.

I have an 06 envoy denali..air was going in and out then completely stopped up front. All vents. Only rear works. I replaced the resistor and also the control module. Its the auto controls. Still not working! Doyou think it would be blower motor or actuators?

Is this to make the vent blowers at eye level work again? because the one for the windshield and the floor work fine..but the vents don't blow anymore.
Thank you for watching. The blower motor is what moves the air but does not control what vents it comes out of. You may have a problem with the Air Inlet Actuator. Hope this helps! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
For the fan blower, Are you replacing the fan blower or the parts that connect to it, because i am having that problem my air/heat dosent work and when i get to a certain speed it will kick on. Can you tell me what is the problem? i have a chevy trailblazer 2005
Hi Steve, Usually when you start to loose the lower speeds on the heat, the blower motor resistor is going bad. Many times it will end up working only on the high setting. We also offer FREE SHIPPING in the lower 48 states. Hope this helps you out. www.1aauto.com/1A/blower-motor-resistor/Chevy/Trailblazer/-/-/2005?VideoReply&RUclips&ATony
my question is if the heater in the bk takes awhile to kick in and when it does only blows cold air and the heat in the front doesnt come on at all what should i check first
Thank you for watching. It sound like there may be multiple issues. You may have a issue with the blower motor itself for the front, and you may have a failed blend door actuator for the heat. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
**Help** I have a blend door actuator that is right up next to the blower motor mounted to or just left of the blower on an 07 trailblazer , would this be a good way to access / replace that actuator ? I know this is an older video but was hoping you might still be able to see this comment and give me some advise. I have a 2005 gmc envoy and i have no power in setting 5. I have power to all speeds at the harness and a good ground on the harness. When i plug in the harness to the resistor it works on all speeds except 5. I can hear it click when switching to 5 and it kills the power to the fan. Even used an external 12v battery to power the orange ( #5 power wire) and the ground wire using another harness off of another vehicle and it still makes the resistor click and no power to the fan. Im baffled. Changed the resistor twice and no luck.

My 2005 chevy trailblazer makes a whistling noise when driving when ac is on. There is no noise when vehicle is idle and none when heat is on. Any clues? Thanks in advance
I have a Chevy Blazer 2005 and the air system stopped working over all, the blower motor does make a little noise once in a blue moon like if it wants to start but when I turn on the air (either ac/heater/fan), it brings down the vehicles RPM to the level that the vehicle turns off... Also, it's very cold here... Help please... Thanks

The heat does not blow out on the driver side of my 2008 trailblazer . Passenger side if fine but not driver side.. Can you tell me what it might be? One side works so it doesn't seem like it could be the blower motor? You know best

Motor Fan Speed Resistor is your problem burned out
ok my blower isn't blowing cool air no more but it clicks on, what else could have cause it to stop?
If there's power to it, it could be a bad blower motor. If you need a new one there's a link in the video that will take you to them on our website. Hope this helps you out.
I changed the motor wires r good but heat still doesn't blow I here something when I change to vents an floor still no heat wat should I do next
You may want to check the fuse, and also test the circuit to see if there's power going to the blower motor when the switch is turned on. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Thank you
You may want to check to see if the AC system needs to be charged. If it's fine, usually when the blower motor resistor goes, you'll start to loose some of the speed settings. We carry them on our website for all kinds of vehicles. 1aauto.com 888-844-3339

The heat does not blow out on the driver side of my 2008 trailblazer . Passenger side if fine but not driver side.. Can you tell me what it might be? One side works so it doesn't seem like it could be the blower motor? You know best
It might be an issue with the actuator, but you may also want to check the vacuum lines along the firewall in the engine bay, and also under the dash to see if one is broke or cracked. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com
Take glove box of 3 screws

So were supposed to trust a guy who just shut off the vehicle without putting it back into park?
More like a 5.5mm not a 7/32
