It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind...but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time-stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying home.

I just got back from seeing Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. It was SO worth waiting for. My childhood nightmares came to terrifying life on the big screen. The pale lady from The Dream was just as unsettling as the original illustration. I almost covered my eyes during that sequence. The Jangly Man was also very disturbing. Overall, I had a really great and fun time.
As a big Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark fan, I am SO EXCITED to see this!!! I'm seeing it tomorrow!!!! I absolutely LOVED reading these books in elementary school. My childhood nightmares are coming on the big screen!!!! I will be getting so much nostalgia from it!!!

Good that they used "Somewhere over the Rainbow" as the background song. I mean, a scary Scarecrow is the villain....there really wasn't any other song they could have used

Looks great, people got mad because of its rating, i understand this looks like R rated stuff but remember insidious, one of the scariest movies ever made and it’s pg-13. I’ll definitely give it a chance, oh and forgot to mention Guillermo Del Toro is involved 🇲🇽

Instead of “everything in the book is coming to life” how about... act and film the stories that were written. Don’t make it so self aware.. make a movie about the stories. This could have been great as a teen mini series or something. Goosebumps did this already..

They're all based on the book. This isn't *the* monster, it's one of several. They can show them all off because we already know what they are/look like.

Hmm...the script feels a little wonky. Just, very unnatural, "The Jangly Man is coming..."--do people talk like that? Or have I been in a cave with no human contact and just forgot how humans speak to each other?

The Red Spot better have good effects too and not just be a bunch of crappy CGI.
The first teasers released some time ago (during Super Bowl, I think) were very good, but this trailer threw all that anticipation straight in the garbage for me. The dialogue in this trailer is beyond bad and hopefully not an indication of how the movie dialogue will flow. Nothing kills a horror movie faster than endless cringe-worthy cliche one-liners and judging from the trailer, this movie has that in spades.
Creature designs look incredible as expected with Del Toro's involvement, but its disappointing to see that CGI created characters as usual HAS to be shown in clear visible lighting instead of having the monsters lurk around in the shadows to create tension. The CGI may or may not be good, but showing the monsters completely has never been a good idea in a horror movie.
