WOW! Thanks for the video and history lesson! My boyfriend and I recently stayed in a bed and breakfast close by and explored that cemetery on memorial weekend. It was very interesting and cool to see all the old headstones. I was saddened to see a lot of baby headstones and was creeped out by the chief's grave site. Overall, it was a good experience, and I did not see any ghosts or felt any demonic presence. We stay respectful to the property, and I suggest future visitors do the same because old Cemetaries are also time capsules holding our past and we need to preserve them.
👍 I'm glad you liked it, thank you. I didn't find the cemetery to be creepy at all, other than the chief's grave. I'm happy to see the cemetery is watched with cameras. I wish more cemeteries set up cameras, even just inexpensive trail cams.
I grew up in Green Lake and went to school there around the time those legends started popping up. I never heard the stories of kids from the area getting shoved off the mausoleum. That all seemed to blow up when the TV aired episodes of it. I've been there multiple times and never experienced anything strange. As a teenager a group of us went at night and sat on the mausoleum (which in hindsight was disrespectful and a shitty thing to do) and nothing happened. It's a cool cemetery with a lot of history.
It seems like it wasn't "haunted" until the A Haunting episode blew it up. Then again, though, if I was a ghost and someone sat on top of my mausoleum, I'd shove them off too lol. Either way, though, it's an interesting place. I love the chief's grave.
It is always upsetting when people do nasty things at cemeteries Etc, and if a group of individuals disturbed my dwelling place as Ghost I would would give them the Christmas Carol experience indeed !
I love black wrought iron entrance gates like these. They seem to set the right tone for these tragic and scary stories. Green Lake looks like a beautiful area and town. Thanks for your hard work once again! Great video 👍
New sub here, great video! I love cemeteries and to hear the stories behind the graves. I would love to see a video on Fairhaven Cemetery in Santa Ana, California. Lots of old graves there and new sections as well.
Was wondering when you would visit this one! As a kid in 2007 that episode of Legend Trippers always freaked out lol. Apparently in the episode one of the teens stated that the headstones would change names when he looked away and back. That part always gave me chills. I also said that when I grew up I would visit Dartford one day. So maybe I'll visit soon. Great video as always!
Love your videos! Come to Racine, WI. we have plenty of cemeteries here with lots of rumors and ghost stories. We're just a bit north of the IL border.
Thank you! I'd definitely like to go to Racine. Any suggestions on haunted places there? Mound Cemetery looks interesting but I don't know any stories associated with it.
Another interesting story. We just a local person who disappeared in Green Lake while kayaking. Didn't have his life vest on unfortunately. Those older grave stones look really fascinating. Thanks again for the video. ❤❤❤
Dartford cemetery is another one of my all time favorite haunted locations, just as "Legend Trippers" is one of my all time favorite episodes of A Haunting! Though, like many others I don't condone the things that the kids in that episode did. Defiling someone's grave is totally uncool, but I must say that out of those 3 boys that visited the cemetery I was impressed that Nick seemed to have learned his lesson because in the final scenes of the episode Nick was basically saying that he learned that a person's final resting place should be totally respected, and that whether the cemetery is haunted or not the dead should be left alone either way. And this isn't the only video I've seen of people either visiting or doing an analysis on Dartford cemetery, there was another channel by the name of "The Green Hornet Squad" who did a legend trip to the cemetery. and amazingly they did experience minor supernatural phenomenon like the laughter of the children can be heard in the background of their video. But anyway. Even though Dartford cemetery is another allegedly haunted location I'd like to visit someday, I'm certainly not brave enough visit a cemetery at night, and I wouldn't sit on the mausoleum either speaking of which I often believe that the reason people even do that at all is not just because of that ridiculous dare, but also because of simple innate human curiosity because when people get curious enough it makes them do stupid things.
Those are both on my radar for future videos. I almost filmed Witch Road when I was in the area filming Dartford Cemetery but we didn't make it there. Thank you for the suggestion.
Thanks for another fascinating piece of local history. I am taken by two things - there seems to be SO many cemeteries in Wisconsin that are claimed to be haunted. This is not the norm for other states i s it? Second, the fact that cemeteries attract vandals. As counsel i know that desecration of graves occur for religious or racial reasons - but occasionally they're just out of petty, destructive behavior. Amazing. Being pushed off the Jackson-Walker mausoleum sure is spine-tingling - as you say at the end, it's just plain disrespectful to climb all over or use it as some casual resting place. I found the grave of Chief Highknocker, and others with tragic histories, very intriguing to say the least! Thnks again!
Thank you. Yes Wisconsin is often considered to be one of the most haunted states in the US. There are so many places I want to cover as well as places in other states. Yeah it's terrible, and they're lucky the roof didn't collapse when sitting on it. There are large cracks that have been repaired.
Fort Sheridan (former military base) outside Highwood near Highland Park is haunted. The tower, the officer's club, and one of the general's house. You should check it out if you have the chance. ✌🏻
@@StrangeandSinister1 I think they are just housing now. I heard they had turned the tower buildings into condos. Broke my heart. I was stationed there and worked in those buildings in the 80s.
If I was aware I wouldn't want anyone sitting on my grave. It could be they have overactive imaginations or they are just liar's making up a story. But some people are like that in life I run across a lot of people who would say get off my lawn. Now that they are dead they are saying get off my grave lol.
I've always found this story interesting. I like to think it really was the angry ghost of the man entombed inside the crypt pushing them off but we'll never know if the whole thing was made up or not. I'd like to know if anyone else was pushed off after the TV show aired, or before. Supposedly the kids on the TV show heard about the legend before they went there, so it looks like the phenomena existed prior to their story.
So….why am I supposed to believe teenagers? I mean….c’mon!! 😂 Sorry, but….🙄 Do you know who pushes over grave markers & who does graffiti and other rude things in cemeteries? Teenagers. Awesome, thanks for watching 😊 That sounds interesting. It reminds me of the Paulding light in Michigan, which I plan to make a video on at some point.
It was more about the location of where he died and dispelling legends about it. Many stories say it was a drunken dare and he died in the waters of Green Lake but that wasn't the case.

Me too, hopefully they're cursed. Every cemetery I visit has this problem, except La Belle. That one seemed to be fine.

I now think that the mausoleum story is not actually true and was just fabricated for bad publicity as well !
That could be. Maybe for TV ratings but who knows.
Yep another interesting journey through a graveyard. There's so much history in cemeteries than what most people know.
Every grave tells a story.
Thank goodness for strange in sinister! We don't always have the opportunity to travel so strange and Sinister brings it to us!❤

Legend Trippers is one of my favorite episodes of A Haunting. It's a shame people desecrated the cemetery.
It's one of the better A Haunting episodes. Agreed, it's a shame.
Thanks!

Very interesting! Shame on those who vandalize cemeteries.
Thanks. I agree one hundred percent. Hopefully the cameras have ended the vandalism.

I'm not sure. I've never heard of gravestones glowing blue but that's what the A Haunting episode reported.
