I literally can't stop smiling they're just so amazing together. You can tell they have so much chemistry, it's like a big brother-little sister thing and it's just really freaking cute. I can't wait to see this movie
I don't mean this rudely at all but I like that Elsie has some spots instead of what we're usually presented with in movies which is perfect teens I think this adds an important aspect of realism to the movie
I am tired of teenagers on TV and film depicted with perfect skin and hair. (Often played by 20 to 30 something year olds.) Most of the time pimples are only shown on them when it’s part of the plot and it’s usually a single red bump on a flawless poreless face. So the fact that the kids shown here and on American Vandal look like real kids with their blemishes and all sold this movie for me.
i was also really happy to see that she had a bit of a belly when she was in her swim suit, because i have one and i'm really insecure about it. it made me glad to know that i'm not the only one with it
I don’t know that anyone else could have done better than Elsie did in this movie. It actually hinges on her amazing performance. She deserves at least an award nomination if not the win.
I didn’t know Bo was such an intelligent visionary like this, I’d mostly only seen his comedic side. I’m not surprised though since his comedy is very witty, I’m glad he found success here.
This movie is great, it felt real, like I was watching real live events that are happening at. the. moment. from kayla's eyes, rather than just watching a huge play or a certain scenario. Funny enough I actually felt like I relate to this more now(I'm an 11th grader in high school) than I could've when I was in eighth grade, Im lonely and I have less friends than I've had back then, so I could understand what she was feeling. Although our school system is very different in the middle East,(uniforms, no freshman or senior, just grades, no graduation parties, school was the size of mini super market, and we we are learning by the British ig system instead of American) I could still relate to and understand her, at least to an extent, because these feelings are real, and just like no said, we are all eighth graders in our own way, no matter how different our lifestyle can be, we can still these emotions of awkwardness and social anxiety and change because we all are flawed humans at the end of the day.hes come so far, I'm proud of bo for creating this, what a godamn roller-coaster Edit: elise is a goddamn legend
I certainly hope that Elsie is able to establish a lasting and successful career. Having seen her in the story, " Eighth Grade" I would cast her I n the drama-comedy |dram a d| set in the Shyamalan suburbs of Philadelphia PA about a cleric new to the area and new position. She is also self saddled with a quest to find out about her family roots lost in WW#2
omg right at the beginning i can 100% relate i said spicy and i dabbed whenever i spoke so it makes everything i said beforehand irrelivant and if someone is going to make fun of me, its for my dab not what i had said
OMGGGGGGG NOOOOOO JOKEEE I STARTED DOING THAT TOO BACK AT THE END OF SEVENTH AND I STILL DO IT IT JUST KEEPS ME LIKE CALM AND RELAXED IN this MESS OF EIGTH GRADE
Idk why but she kinda looks like mac demarco in some sort of way and thats cool haha. I also do the with ticks to end conversations and sometimes idk why i do it
@@deergoat3468 Thats literally not true. Everyone said that only because everyone was too pretentious and "mature" to fathom why an adult could get along with kids instead of enjoying the boring Victorian adults. There is no evidence to suggest that he was a pedophile.

Bo is a director now ...... Wow good for him
Fucking love Bo Burnham. So happy for him.
In a way, he's always been a director. He directed all of his own shows
The fact that he sits and listens to her is like actually so important bc she has so much to say and he gives her space
the bar is literally so low.....
True, he treats her with respect, as an equal.
@@cheeesysandwich Maybe, but we might as well celebrate clearing it. Only then can we work on raising it.
So cute how bo gushes about her, so looking forward to this film
yo gabba gabba .........,,.,...

Heather Lorenca I dont know who you are but you said yo gabba gabba...i like it

Variety you realize titles can be changed on youtube right?

HERE for this.
I can't imagine a movie that I want to watch more. Bo made a movie. That would probably be enough. But Elsie is going to make it real.
2:19 Bo wanting to push up his glasses but remembering he isn't wearing them
Haha I do that all the time when I put contacts in! So embarrassing when in front of people! 😳
Bo is a master of his own universe, I'm lucky to be allowed to witness it!
"It gives us great social movements and the world is on fire" That's an accurate statement if ever I've heard one.
saw this guys hilarious and satirical songs a few years ago, great to see how far he's come.

Oh bo, it's never lupus
The fact this young lady & movie is not nominated for a comedy Oscar is a total travesty. My favourite movie of the year bar none.
Didn't know Bo Burnham was into streetwear.

My favorite comic makes a movie?!
GUCCI!
Sometimes I forget Robert is not Bo
I started saying "it's Gucci" because of a certain man who went by the name Sanjuro...
I love how Bo is able to relate to those kids so well by being on their level. He's like a modern Lewis Carroll.
might not wanna touch that one...
oops.... y'know Lewis Carol was into...kids..?
